Re: Rayman Origins
There's only one way now to take out every doubts about the platforms that the game will be really released or not: E3 2011's Press Conference of Ubisoft.
I won't lose it.
I won't lose it.
Re: Rayman Origins
then we'll have to wait till june 7 to know for sure... this is nothing comparing to (almost) a whole year without any news...
Re: Rayman Origins
Speaking of which, I find it amazing how there's more-or-less no news about the game for so long, then BAM!
You go away from the computer for 30 minutes, come back, NEW ORIGINS INFO + AWESOME SCREENS! Shocking, really
Also, I pay really too much attention to the drawings! They're so beautiful, I want to draw like that

Re: Rayman Origins
Wasn't it also considered for iPhone/iPad? Are they still doing that?
Also, surely all this information is worth an update on the pirate community portal?

Re: Rayman Origins
I didn't even need to get a PS3.
No wait, trophies are cool.
I wonder how they're gonna do Continuity Nods in a prequel? Ah well, I'm sure they'll pull it off. I just hope they shed some light on the whole world whiplash between R1 and R2; a real explanation for that is long overdue.

Re: Rayman Origins
Nice box art (though as PS3 owner I'm slightly disappointed they didn't adapt the art rather than just cropping it) and it's great to see that Wii owners are getting their own version too.

Re: Rayman Origins
I think this is incorrect. Based on what I read in the Game Informer, Ubi isn't planning on releasing Origins for the wii for the same reason they changed RRR to a party game.(Because the wii is better suited for party games as opposed to platformers, or something like that.) It says that it is being released for the PS3 and Xbox 360, but that's it.Diamante wrote:Dammit, I havent Wii and ps3Janic wrote:Damn, I think Rayman Origins for Wii is confirmed now!So exited!!!!

I love this Boxart. It's a shame tough that the PS3 one has been cropped.
(EDIT)
Do I see the Playstation Network logo. Man I hope this is online!
Of course, a PC or Wii release is still possible. But I don't really care myself, as I'll be getting it for the PS3, anyway.
Another thing: For all I know we may have cleared up the continuity thing a couple pages back, but I have no intention of going and reading through all these posts, so I'll just put my input here and now: I may be forgetting something, but there was never any real backstory to the first Rayman game. Just because it never mentions Globox, Teensies, etc. doesn't necessarily mean that Rayman doesn't know them yet. As of now, I don't see any major continuity errors at all, at least none that can't easily and believably be avoided.
That's it. I'm hoping I can be around here more often in the future.
Re: Rayman Origins
Comparing the Wii cover to the X360 and PS3 covers, you'll notice that the Wii cover reveals more of the sky than the other two. This indicates that whoever made the Wii cover had access to the original artwork (minus the console-specific branding) - something which Amazon almost certainly wouldn't have. This suggests to me that the Wii cover came from Ubi themselves.mastermatt56 wrote:I think this is incorrect. However, I've been wrong before.
Re: Rayman Origins
I think that doesn't stop the other versions to have achievements you know. As long they would be configured in-game, every version could have unlockable achievements. It isn't really necessary to have internet connection.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:I didn't even need to get a PS3.![]()

Oh well, I just need to know now when it is the E3 conference dates.

Re: Rayman Origins
If it's not coming on Wii then why are Amazon listing it on preorder? Not that I might get it on wii anyway but rather the PS3 version, but not many things that were on Amazon preorder get cancelled. Like We Dare for example, even though it was cancelled in the UK they still had copies of the British version on sale though I think they only have few copies left.

Re: Rayman Origins
Trophies are pointless and aren’t even exclusive to the PS3, so I’m not sure what you mean by that. Continuity nods are more common in prequels than they are in sequels; see Star Wars Episodes I–III for innumerable examples. I’m not sure if I want them to explain the different environments in Rayman 1 and Rayman 2; I’ve never had a problem reconciling the two. Simply merging the two styles together to create a definitive ‘Rayman’ aesthetic would be good enough for me. If they choose to keep them distinct, the explanation that the valley is on a separate island could be used; it’s heavily implied by the first two games, though whether this implication was intentional is another matter.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:I didn't even need to get a PS3.![]()

You’re completely correct. Rayman Origins looks like it will have far fewer continuity errors than the previous games in the series. Practically no backstory is given in Rayman 1, though the Magician’s behaviour and comments imply that Rayman is already a hero with many adventures under his belt by the time the game begins. Of course the absence of Globox and Teensies in Rayman 1 doesn’t mean that Rayman had never met them before; the only ones who seem to make that complaint are a particularly small, vocal and stupid group of YouTube commenters.mastermatt56 wrote:Another thing: For all I know we may have cleared up the continuity thing a couple pages back, but I have no intention of going and reading through all these posts, so I'll just put my input here and now: I may be forgetting something, but there was never any real backstory to the first Rayman game. The cover artwork certainly seems to be official in origin, but that doesn’t mean it will be on the final case. Hopefully it’s just a placeholder.AJack wrote:Comparing the Wii cover to the X360 and PS3 covers, you'll notice that the Wii cover reveals more of the sky than the other two. Re: Rayman Origins
Pardon me guys, sorry if someone's brought this up this before in a previous comment, but has anyone noticed the updates that Rayman Origins has recieved on it's TV Tropes page? (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... manOrigins)
Well, the updates state that apparently, the Glade Of Dreams in this game were created by a being known as Bubble Dreamer, who was so attached to his world, that his emotions directly impacted it. Does this mean that 'Bubble Dreamer' will replace Polokus as the creator of Rayman's world? the updated article also includes some very interesting information, which can be considered as major spoilers in the game (I have already read the information, and have now spoilt the entire game for myself by accident, which makes me both extremely sad and extremly angry)
To get to the point though, how exactly did the writer of this Rayman Origins page know of this information? I thought Ubisoft were being very secretive towards this game!
But of course, this could just be made up lies (which I hope they are, considering that i've accidentely read through the spoiler block things and spoilt the entire game for me)
Btw, guys, this is my first post, so be nice plz.

Re: Rayman Origins
Hello. TVTropes can be edited so any unsourced plot info on there is probably made up. What the hell's a Red Wizard anyway and why would Globox be one?

Yeah, probably, but what's strange is the whole thing about this 'Bubble Dreamer'. it sounds to me like something that would actually be in a Rayman game, strangely. but i'm most probably 99% wrong anyway.
Yeah, it probably is. I once saw this fake cr*p about Rayman 2 on Wikipedia before (also a free to edit website) about Ly being the final boss and Globox dying in it or something.StaceyW wrote:It's probably just bullshit like a lot of wiki users vomit out.

No, these days the portal is only updated for extremely major news. It’s in need of an overhaul but that’s for another day.Bithainium wrote:Also, surely all this information is worth an update on the pirate community portal?
Assuming this information is correct, I imagine it comes from the new GameInformer article. The Bubble Dreamer is almost certainly Polokus; the reference to dreams and emotions creating the world sounds very familiar indeed. Maybe the Red Wizard is actually the orange-robed Magician Teensie and the person who edited the page got confused. As for the ‘spoiler’... that sounds absolutely fantastic, and I really don’t see how it ruins the game unless it’s part of a twist ending. If the element of surprise to that development was so critical to the story, I doubt it would have been revealed in this magazine article. I’m off to do some research on this... I am not at all certain that this information has been fabricated.MeestaNintendo wrote:Pardon me guys, sorry if someone's brought this up this before in a previous comment, but has anyone noticed the updates that Rayman Origins has recieved on it's TV Tropes page? No, all rumours with the slightest possibility of validity should be posted. If you don’t like them, then feel free to move along; but it’s perfectly possible that this information is completely true, and as such I’d appreciate the opportunity to read it and all future rumours, substantiated or not.Haruka wrote:If I were you guys I wouldn't post any information that is not from trustable sources or from dubious sources.
