That's very interesting, although to me it looks more like a vampire Teensie.spiraldoor wrote:Look at the bottom. I guess we all miss the Rainbow Ubisoft logo.spiraldoor wrote:I wish they’d gone with the classic Ubisoft rainbow logo rather than that dull blue swirl but I guess those days are long gone.
This is the most nostalgic music that we all can experience:
I suspected the same thing when I saw that bottom drawing, but I also thought it could be the Magician's hat or something similar.Look at the bottom. Re: Rayman Origins
The large nose and the top hat covering the eyes do make him look like he might be the Magician. Perhaps he’ll be in charge of the ‘I Dare You’ minigames?
Re: Rayman Origins
I wouldn't be surprised if the Magician returned again to "handle" the I Dare You minigames.spiraldoor wrote:Perhaps he’ll be in charge of the ‘I Dare You’ minigames?

I like how even after all this news, the blog remains untouched.

The blog is useless – it never should have been started in the first place. Now it has become redundant into the bargain. Waste of bandwidth.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:I like how even after all this news, the blog remains untouched.
The JeuxVideo splash page with the massive illustration of Rayman, Globox and the two Teensies has some mountains in the background. This area might be the one in the background seen when Rayman and Globox are getting their picture taken in the trailer. It’s not a jungle, Band Land or Day of the Dead-inspired; nor does is appear to involve heavy rain or lava. Perhaps there are more environments than the five mentioned (six if the underwater screenshot denotes yet another environment)? This may even be the Blue Mountains. I like the floating landmasses and chunks of rock and ice just hanging there; very like Rayman 1. This game is going to be great.

The floating masses of rocky land quite remind me Avatar.spiraldoor wrote:I like the floating landmasses and chunks of rock and ice just hanging there; very like Rayman 1.

Avatar reminded me and Acarr of R1 too.

Thanks for the obvious but nevermind. I only know understood the sentence that Spiral wanted to say. The lack of commas confused me a little.

The nostalgia is speading...Haruka wrote:: I'm being quite nostalgic now.
The very first time I met Rayman was in my 8 years old. I was in a house of an ex-neighbour and I had my first contact with this limbless wonder with PS1's Rayman 1 game. It has been already 10 years! After 1 hour of gameplay, I got immediately hooked to Rayman 1 and the Rayman game series. I only bought the PC version (Rayman Collector pack, although it is a budget version done by a French company) 3 years later (I was 11 then) and in the same year I was able to finish the game with a lot of struggle, I felt very proud.
I bought Rayman 2: The Great Escape for PC at my 9 years old, and I really felt in love with that game. Even more than Rayman 1. Everything stunned me.
I purchased Rayman 1 for a very cheap price at a second hand shop. The shop I bought it from has long since closed down (along with most of the other shops on the street), I have long since lost that game. But Rayman lives on.
Pity that despite the game epicness, I could never get past band land.
We know origins will be epic. What I can't help wondering, however, is will this be the last of a legendary series or the start of a new revival?
Only time will tell, I suppose.
Re: Rayman Origins
I just read the article in JeuxVidéo and I started wondering..
Has anybody ever asked Ancel why he called Rayman "Rayman"? Does anyone here know? The question has been bothering me for a long time..

Re: Rayman Origins
I remember in one E3 interview Michel Ancel was asked if there would be any more 3D Rayman games, and he said yes. I don't know if this necessarily confirms it for good, though.Bithainium wrote:

Re: Rayman Origins
That's good news. Obviously ancel will be eager to make more Rayman games. The question is whether he will be allowed to or not. I suppose it all depends on how much Origins makes.
As to 3d games, will these be new games or remakes of old ones. Both are fine but I would prefer the former. It can also be quite annoying when you are promised a "new Rayman game" that turns out to be an old one. I remember when a "new Rayman game" was promised for iPhone/iPod that turned out to be the dreamworks version of Rayman 2. As brilliant as it is to have a Rayman game I can play at the bus station, I just isn't the same.

Re: Rayman Origins
If Mario has got so many games after 25 years of live, why shouldn't Rayman be the same?

The grand Rayman game I envisioned in my head that could never possibly come to fruition just came to fruition.Lijik wrote:You do realize that none of the games really gave a shit about continuity right? This is par the course for Rayman.
I guess in the years without Rayman games you guys envisioned some grand game in your head that would never possibly come to fruition.

You're welcome Quickie. Actually that interview was found recently, in which it contained the answer for the name.
