Re: Rayman Origins
I’ve always thought of it as Rayman shooting enemies with Moskito (or Bzzit, or whatever). The mosquito acts as a weapon.

Re: Rayman Origins
It basically says that the game will explain the origins of Mr. Dark, and the characters have been revamped.
Other than that, nothing new.

Sure, my contribution was nothing more than a good-hearted attempt at facilitating the comprehension of the information you brought to our attention by enhancing its level of precision!spiraldoor wrote:I’ve always thought of it as Rayman shooting enemies with Moskito (or Bzzit, or whatever). Wait, I thought everyone here already knew what the Game Informer said... my bad, I could've scanned those almost a week ago.

Re: Rayman Origins
Thanks for your understanding everyone. I'm glad it all worked out in the end
Incidentally, I didn't realise game informer didn't make it to Europe. It's always been around here in Australia... weird.

Re: Rayman Origins
If I had the oportunity to grab a copy of the magazine I would do that, but in here the abroad gaming magazine that I can find is GamesTM only.

Re: Rayman Origins
I should think a good chunk of British mags will have some juicy articles about Origins in the next few months or so, just hope they're not all shrink wrapped which is BLOODY ANNOYING! Especially all the Nintendo ones gggrrrrffff.

Oh, how I hate the shrink wrapped magazines.StaceyW wrote:I should think a good chunk of British mags will have some juicy articles about Origins in the next few months or so, just hope they're not all shrink wrapped which is BLOODY ANNOYING!
I'll be also having a look to the Portuguese gaming magazines. They can perhaps mention something about RO.

If you look closely at the JeuxVidéo page showing the mountains with the floating chunks of ice, you can see pink tentacles at the peak. I think this means the pink monster will be the boss of the mountain word, while the stone giant will be the boss of the forest world.

Re: Rayman Origins
Thank you for explaining. Sorry for bringing these faults up. I'm not trying to pick holes in the Rayman storyline, just wondering about some points. I suppose the transition between 2d and 3d worlds was never going to be completely smooth.spiraldoor wrote:This reference to Mr Dark’s defeat occuring after Rayman’s first appearance on the shore seems to place the events of R1 after his discovery. This raises further questions (eg, Why were the fishermen amazed by his limblessness when they lived in a world populated by limbless creatures? Why did they not react to Mr Dark in a similar way?). I spent a while coming up with complex theories to explain these apparent inconsistencies (the valley and the Glade as distinct locations between which travel is occasionally possible), but ultimately I find that RO’s retconning results in a more coherent story. It didn't take Rayman long to convince the people of the Glade of Dreams of his good intentions ... And when he triumphed over the evil Mister Dark, the truth was undeniable: Rayman was the bravest of them all, the ideal hero ...
Is the species of this fisherman mentioned, by the way?

Re: Rayman Origins
No, but some other creatures are briefly mentioned. See for yourself:
Rayman is a unique character of unknown origin.
No wise man or magician can say by what twist of fate or whim of the gods Rayman came to appear at the Glade of Dreams.
All we know of him comes from the fishermen on the Sea of Lums. After a particularly stormy night they found him sleeping peacefully in the shade of a palm tree. Frightened by this strange creature from the sea, they called on the people of the forest, the skies and the waters for help. And the sun had not yet reached the zenith when a host of beings, each one more bizarre than the next, came tumbling over the violet sand dunes. They watched him for a long time. “What kind of a man can he be who has neither legs nor arms?”, they asked one another. “Can he possibly be alive?” wondered one of them when Rayman stretched and yawned loudly.
It didn't take Rayman long to convince the people of the Glade of Dreams of his good intentions. His energy and good humour, his fantastical powers and love of life and nature won over even the most distrustful of creatures. And when he triumphed over the evil Mister Dark, the truth was undeniable: Rayman was the bravest of them all, the ideal hero, the man for whom friendship and laughter are more important than anything else, for whom the greatest victory is measured by the extent of the celebrations that follow it.

Suddenly a lot less interesting.A series of animated short movies based on Raving Rabbids, itself a spin-off from the Rayman franchise, is also in development.
And Weekly 'Wood mentions "Rayman: the Movie?" as a joke.

Re: Rayman Origins
They did mention some time back that there'd be some kind of TV series based on Rabbids being made by Aardman

About the ubi movies thing, this isn't gonna be the kind of 3D where I'd have to buy stupid looking glasses is it?

Re: Rayman Origins
Soo a little random but is the fact the game may be local multiplayer only dissapointing to anyone? Few of my friends are Rayman fans and one of my friends who is a big Rayman fan lives quite a long way from me. We were super phsyched about co-op for origins but now DEVASTATED we can't play together D:. Anyone think They'll end up putting online support in?

Re: Rayman Origins
You could invite him or her over the day RO comes out, and then play through the entire game in one sitting. We're all gonna end up doing that anyway.soxfan2006 wrote:Soo a little random but is the fact the game may be local multiplayer only dissapointing to anyone? Re: Rayman Origins
I confess I also expected to exist online mode, but sadly it doesn't. I experience the same problem as soxfan2006: all my friends that are Rayman fans live far.
But I believe it makes some sense knowing it is cooperative mode, it is better to comunicate in the same living room. New Super Mario Bros Wii hasn't got online mode either.

Re: Rayman Origins
Well, Rayman Origins should have online play, NSMBWii should also have had that option!
