Yeah, I just noticed it, but it's all but official so far: I'm curious where they got this name from. Not to mention this discussion, which goes well against the possibility of glute being the name of the species. Well, let's wait for more information :)

So much new info and screenshots! So epic! :D
That last pic looks like it's a library world or a cartoony mythical world.
And the use of colours is great again, like in every other Rayman game.
Haruka wrote:Is anyone able to download the interview video? The download button seems to not work.
I captured the URL of the HD version of the video for everyone who wants to download it and not login to Gamespot. Here it is.

And about that video: lol, Michel Ancel's accent. Awesome as always.

This is all great stuff :D

A few things I found neat in the Gamespot article:

• 12 differently themed environments
• Breaking bottles to free blue critters (who then become platforms!)
• Music that interacts with the on-screen action
• Underwater exploration
• Electoons that sing when released

EDIT: "We also caught a brief glimpse of Mr. Dark, Origins' principal villain, but because he was shrouded in a veil of dark mist, we couldn't see his face."

Ooh!

Thank you very much Droolie. :D

I also forgot to mention before, Prince Lums seem to wear golden crowns. I also noticed about the black suit of the Teensie, maybe it is a variation of the character, or an unlockable skin perhaps? Personalization would be cool.

Though the level was 2D, there were multiple planes that Rayman could walk through, similar to the system in Little Big Planet. He could walk behind or in front of blades of grass, with objects in the foreground appearing blurry, giving an appearance of a shallow depth of field and making it easy to concentrate on the action on the middle plane.
Once example we were shown saw Rayman break a glass bottle with a blue creature inside. Once freed, it transformed into a set of platforms our hero could jump on in order to reach Electoons, who broke out into a joyous song when collected.
Music and sound effects play a large part in Origins and are synced to each other.
Another level saw Rayman walking into an area infected by the Bubble Dreamer's nightmares; the area turned from a lush green forest into a silhouetted world that was reminiscent of the hyper-stylised visuals from Limbo.
Ancel told us that these underwater areas were implemented to increase the number of places to explore and to remove the threat that water posed in the original game.
I love all this. Especially the part about underwater areas, which says something about how large the levels are. :D

Oh my god this. It sounds almost too good to be true, doesn't it? It's a bit like the tings in Rayman 1, but better! It's as if they're chaining the music and the sound effects together to get you in some kind of trance while playing.
It also means the music is gonna have to be VERY good, because it's an important aspect of the game. Which means they'll do their best. Which means the soundtrack for this will be a win. :D

I hope it's gonna be something similar to Portal 2 dynamic music, which was perfect!

I can't wait to listen to the game's soundtrack for the first time. If it is going orchestral-alike like in Super Mario Galaxy 2, then it will blow everything.

There's no chance that this game won't be of our please. :)

We already knew about the underwater areas, guys...

As concerns the new information, I'm just a little sceptic about the multi-plane gameplay... is that gonna be like the cancelled 2D version of Rayman 2? It was pretty much of a gimmick to me.

Other than this, I find all these figures about the architecture of the game rather confusing: 6 major areas, 12 environments, 50 levels... Well at least we've got another name, Infernal Kitchen.

Also, the idea of dark, Limbo-like sequences associated with Polokus' nightmares sounds very promising. It's only getting better and better :)

No-one seems to have commented on the revelation regarding Mr Dark:
We also caught a brief glimpse of Mr. Dark, Origins' principal villain, but because he was shrouded in a veil of dark mist, we couldn't see his face.
Did we already know this? I'd read in the Game Informer Article that Mr Dark was involved, but this was the first I'd heard of him being Origin's 'principle villain'.

In Jeux Vidéo Magazine, Mr. Dark was refered that he was going to appear as a cameo. Now if we will have a real interaction, I'm not sure but apparently we can partially see him.

True, this is maybe the most important information here... I believe the article from Jeux Vidéo Magazine clearly said that Mr Dark wouldn't appear and that we would only learn about him, but then we are told the opposite... Rather puzzling :?

Or maybe they didn't want to break one of the biggest surprises of the game, which would be a direct interaction with Mr. Dark. Puzzling, indeed.

Then I'd rather have waited till the release! I just hope Mr Dark won't be given a ridiculous look and personality.

I doubt, the game got confirmed to Wii anyway.

Now you remind me that I should watch Nintendo's E3 Press Conference in the next day to Ubisoft's to learn more about their projects for 2012.
