Then I believe that the solution for the pirate head problem is to get the GOG version, for those who haven't Windows XP.
Thanks for sharing up that info.

No problem! I believe that the people who re-release the games on GOG update some of the code to fix the known bugs and make it compatible with XP/Vista/7
Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
I don't get the need of fixing the game [Rayman 2] for Vista since it was the only game of the series that worked for me without any trouble (Rayman M just wouldn't run and Rayman 3 had buggy textures there...).
Or perhaps I have a really diffrent version of Rayman 2... (other than that game being in PL language)
But I'm just talking about the 32-bit Vista Home Basic there...

Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
Did you have to use patch in the first place?
Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
No, I didn't have to interfere with anything in the folders (I didn't have to patch anything).
The game worked just fine for me...

Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
I think the patch and thus the game worked fine for me on Vista, but it's not the case on Seven.
Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
Maybe somebody should try to create another patch, this time for Windows 7? Such a helpful suggestion... I guess there are many more people who think like that...

That's what I've been wanting but no one still created a patch for it.Wiiola wrote:Maybe somebody should try to create another patch, this time for Windows 7? Such a helpful suggestion... I guess there are many more people who think like that...
However, I would like to test the GOG version in my laptop.

Well, GOG did it since fixed the game.

Just a heads up that the only glitch I can find in the GOG version is in The Crow's Nest, the Lum Counter says 41/40 lums throughout the battle, even though no lums exist.

That's usually what happens when you try to cheat your way to the final boss; I known this happens in Rayman DS.

The only thing I could think of is that it's related to the Unlimited Ammo easter egg. It didn't seem to happen in the first phase (atop the Buccaneer) but happened in the depths.

Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
For the soundtrack, GOG have actually used the track names which Drolpiraat made up for RayTunes, although they’ve added a few extra characters in brackets at the end of each one (stuff like ‘JailMus’ and ‘LY1’). I think these might have been the filenames that were on the original disc.
Edit: The GOG soundtrack is actually very cool; several tracks have new intros that were not in the game, and most of them have new endings. I think the GOG people must have gone back to Chevalier’s original compositions, as they were before being edited into the game.

Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
Hope someone upload the soundtrack
I am not going to buy yet another R2.
Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
Im switching to Vista during november. Do Rayman 3 and Rayman 10th anniversary work on that? I don't even have to ask about R1, because i know that won't work. Pretty sad about Rayman 2.
Re: Rayman 2 on Windows 7?
Have you ever heard about D-Fend Reloaded? With that an the correct configurations you can run Rayman 1 in any computer.RayTunes wrote:I don't even have to ask about R1, because i know that won't work.
