Re: Rayman Origins
Well Murfy first met Rayman in the second game so that wouldn't make much sense, and the last thing he said was “See you in Rayman 4” anyway, so no worries.MLII wrote:Slightly miffed that there's no Murfy as of yet but that won't stop me from enjoying it =P

Re: Rayman Origins
While I like Moskito’s new look overall, I’m not sure about the addition of teeth. I’ve always thought of his proboscis as his ‘mouth’, so the revelation that it’s more of a ‘nose’ will require some mental readjustment.
The opening shot of the new trailer with the Darktoons rising out of the shaking ground reminds me of the old Rayman 4 trailer with the giant mechanical War of the Worlds Rabbid emerging from the earth.
I really love all the Rayman 1 & 2 connections, references, returning characters, revisited locations etc, but I can’t help but feel that Rayman 3 is getting left out in the cold here. It’s definitely my least-favourite game in the series, but it deserves more love than this. They should give us some Zaroff or Palmito or Leptys stuff; there’s plenty of material worthy of elaboration in that game.
I love this cohesive mythology they’re creating; it draws heavily from Rayman 2’s Knowledge of the World, but in many ways surpasses it, as they seem intent on permeating the game with ideas rather than wrapping them up in a neat little bundle for us to peruse when we collect enough Lums. The Bubble Dreamer is clearly the axis of the Glade’s newly-expanded mythology, which is great to see. I love the frivolous little explanations they’re giving us for everything – Rayman is limbless because the nymphs lacked the Lums needed to create a complete being, the Teensies have big noses because Polokus likes the sound of snoring, the reason behind Globox’s colour, etc. Maybe they’ll tell us why Band Land is made of music, and why Umber is different from the other Guardians, and whether the Great Protoon is the Heart of the World? Perhaps they’ll reveal the chilling truth behind plums? The fact that dozens more explanations are coming is quite exciting. I think it’s extremely likely that Mr Dark will turn out to be Polokus’s worst nightmare (in the literal sense of the word).
Remember when Gloon complained that Ubisoft were doing nothing to inform fans about Rayman Origins or to advertise it to potential customers, that they were failing to support Michel Ancel yet again and that the game was likely to become vapourware? Now it’s leading Ubisoft’s E3 press conference! He was so very wrong. It’s always quite vindicating to see very wrong RaymanZoners being steamrollered in this way. I wonder which one is next?
The part of the new demo in which Rayman walks into a dark passageway in the forest and finds himself in a shadowy, hidden parallel area (in which the camera has turned 180 degrees) containing Electoons which are being held captive by Livingstones reminds me very strongly of some extremely similar scenarios in Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exoddus.

Re: Rayman Origins
Apparently that retail list of NeoGaf wasn't more than a list of guesses:
No hope for PC version of RO...
maybe after the game is out and it will gain success (which I think will happen) they'll decide to make it on the PC as well, but the odds are against it.
link: http://www.facebook.com/emorii/posts/209601609078197LOL.... we have put SKu's in the system as a guess at what titles might be revealed at E3. So that way customers can put orders down as soon as there is an announcement. Unfortunately nothing is set in stone about those titles until we find out at E3

Do clarify your objections. Some of the remarks made by the RaymanZoners in question were far less civilised than some good old-fashioned steamrollering.MLII wrote:See, I was following and agreeing with you...and then you had to pull the jerkass.spiraldoor wrote:It’s always quite vindicating to see very wrong RaymanZoners being steamrollered in this way. rayguy, could you transcribe the Facebook stuff to here? Not everyone has got an account in Facebook.
By the way, look how it is the downloadable theme of RO for the Xbox360:

Re: Rayman Origins
I do agree with that, but the way you called them "raymanzoners" sort of made it sound like you were referring to a lesser species. I mean, sure, RZ is crappy, but there are still some intelligent people on there.spiraldoor wrote: Do clarify your objections. Re: Rayman Origins
‘RaymanZoners’ is a pretty handy descriptor for people who post on RaymanZone.MLII wrote:I do agree with that, but the way you called them "raymanzoners" sort of made it sound like you were referring to a lesser species.
Oh yes, I am perfectly aware of that.MLII wrote:I mean, sure, RZ is crappy, but there are still some intelligent people on there.

Re: Rayman Origins
What I meant was you worded it like it's only Raymanzoners who ever make misconceptions about the series.spiraldoor wrote:‘RaymanZoners’ is a pretty handy descriptor for people who post on RaymanZone.
If we're going to continue this, can we do it through Pms?

There's a Resident Evil 6 sku in the system, which means there's going to be a Resi 6 announcement at E3. Can't wait

Re: Rayman Origins
This article hardly says anything but that Origins is a rip-off of Mario Wii.
Re: Rayman Origins
It's a transcript of a conversation on facebook in which the publishers of the retail sheet from NeoGaf say the list was no more than a set of assumptions and speculations.NotaKuroi wrote:Aaaaand what is it?
bottom line - there's no word and no clue that RO is coming to the PC. I also asked Mr Shade on the Rayman Zone forum to try and check the issue, and he said he'll try to check it out.

Re: Rayman Origins
The main reason for not releasing Origins on PC is obviously piracy, but once they've sold enough copies on next-gen consoles they'll have no reason not to do it, especially given UbiSoft's gift to recycle their games.
Re: Rayman Origins
I hope you're right and they'll do so. I'm willing to wait another year for that, because the game looks awesome so far.

Re: Rayman Origins
Well I'm not saying it will be released on PC less than a year after the console versions though
All I know is that Origins is extremely likely to come out on PC one day, hopefully soon.

Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah and the DRM on PC games such as Assassin's Creed 2 went out of its way to fuck over even legal purchases >:E
