Re: Rayman Origins
Evidently, as they’ve said the game will feature more than a hundred characters. A more important is question is whether the glute fakirs are the Red Wizards. We know Globox is one, and that he’s the only one who isn’t red, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the rest turned out to be red members of Globox’s species. Ancel and Shrager mentioned in one of the interviews that some inhabitants of the Glade of Dreams will practise a Bubble Dreamer-centric religion, and that they would be found meditating; presumably they’re talking about the glute fakirs, and I expect the same revelation applies to the Monks from Gong Heights in the original game. They were probably worshipping Polokus.Tulio wrote:Just noticed some red Globox species at 2:14 of Gameplay demo - maybe we'll have more npcs this time?

It crack me up to see Globox and Rayman beat up eathother.
Just like Rayman 3, is that possible to beat Globox in R2 aswell. Don't remember, but I don't think so.

Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah, it would be interesting to see him return with the Rayman 3 look. In fact, I could easily imagine that, at some point in the nightmare zones, dark versions of all the player characters would appear, with the same function as Bad Rayman in the first game.

Heres a stage demo with an interview.

I really hope Ubisoft releases a collectors edition. That would make me the happiest person in the world.

Re: Rayman Origins
Looking at some articles and interviews, I've found some interesting stuff-
A GamePro writer (http://www.gamepro.com/article/previews ... n-origins/) who played the demo suggests that the bats in the desert level are actually locusts! Looking at their appearance and behaviour, I'd say it's obvious they are bats, but since it's a desert, he's got a point...
Did it occur to anyone that the I Dare You challenges are just like the Magician's challenges? In an interview with Shrager (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... YJ9usmuIUA) she says that some challenges will be to collect a certain amount of Lums in a time limit. She also refers to the Teensies as Teensy wizards in that interview.
In a Thunderbolt review (http://thunderboltgames.com/previews/ar ... x-360.html), the writer says he played the game and that you need to hold the analog stick up to hold your hands as a platform. Well, now we got one control. Also, in the article he says that the person with the most Lums gets to be the viking woman in the photo, while players with less Lums have lesser roles. Seeing as he played with a couple of others, I wondered if the board will be extended for more players, and I got my answer-

(you can also see something like that in the interview posted by SuperSunshine)
In an Escapist article (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... ns-Preview), the writer says she played the game and-
"With no health system, only a single collectable heart stands between you and death in Origins; however, when playing co-op, players can help each other out and bring their teammates back from the dead, not unlike New Super Mario Bros. Wii."
This means that the R1 health bar (points, actually) is no more. Although there IS a health bar in the new trailer (in the Glacier Cocktail part).
I also noticed a hunter on board the flying ship in the interview posted by SuperSunshine, and there's a RELEASE DATE! The interviewer asks Michel Ancel when's the game coming out and Michel says December something (I really can't figure out what he said after december...)

I'm not sure if that's a nettle, but you could clearly see nettles in the cave in the first trailer.Hunchman801 wrote:Looks like a nettle in the water at the end of the forest level.

Re: Rayman Origins
So the carnivorous plant will be the boss of the desert level? I'm not sure I like the absence of life points though, it's something that has always annoyed me with Mario, but we'll see what it's like when the game comes out.

Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah I noticed that, did they really need to cut the HP bubbles out in favour of a floating heart?

Re: Rayman Origins
I really like the redesigned, bulbous blue spiky balls in the desert video. As for the floating heart system, I don’t see how it’s any different than Aku-Aku or Sparx in the excellent Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games, so I don’t have a problem with it. Any increased difficulty this change brings will be welcome. And am I the only one whose mind was blown a little when they revealed the correct pronunciation of the word ‘Lum’?
Re: Rayman Origins
Hows it pronounced? I always said l-um- like plum..
And do we know all twelve environments yet; ive got forest, water, desert, food, bzzt cloud levels, caves, band land.. any others?

So did I, but Shrager says it’s LŌŌM.Gennaroc wrote:Hows it pronounced? I always said l-um- like plum..
The Rayman Origins page on RayWiki contains a list of all currently-known levels.Gennaroc wrote:And do we know all twelve environments yet; ive got forest, water, desert, food, bzzt cloud levels, caves, band land.. any others?

Re: Rayman Origins
I pronounce it like plum when I talk English, but when I say it in Hebrew, I say it the way she says it, because every word with a 'u' that you transfer to Hebrew is pronounced like that (that's also how it's pronounced in my Hebrew version of R3).spiraldoor wrote:And am I the only one whose mind was blown a little when they revealed the correct pronunciation of the word ‘Lum’?
Don't forget the level from the first trailer- the one in the cave with the insects, with Globox, with the golem and with the huge pink monster (it's probably all the same one).Gennaroc wrote:And do we know all twelve environments yet; ive got forest, water, desert, food, bzzt cloud levels, caves, band land.. any others?
I wish they put Carmen in the water level.
