Re: Rayman Origins
Yes, it'll return.
How can Mister Dark be a Teensie? He had floating hands and feet in Rayman 1, just like Rayman... And his eyes don't fit on a Teensie head.

As you may have noticed, they are heavily redesigning certain characters to strengthen the overall continuity of the series.need my speed wrote:Yes, it'll return.

Mr Dark no longer has floating hands and feet; the same goes for almost everyone else. However, I am also quite interested in seeing what they do with his glowing yellow eyes; we didn’t see them in the trailer, and I hope they haven’t changed them to regular, beady little Teensy eyes.

Great to see you back, K.NARREN!K.NARREN wrote:With Rayman Origins back, I've been lurking on this topic. As a side note, it is as always wonderful to see that Xenon and Hunchman are still around. It reminds me of good times. Wonderful work on the Raywiki too, I didn't even know it was this place that made it.
As for Mr Dark, I just pray they won't ruin the whole thing. I was fine with a mysterious character.

Re: Rayman Origins
If Polokus’s nightmares can corrupt Electoons into Darktoons, they can also warp a good Teensy into a bad one. Since they’re going to explain Mr Dark’s origins, I think he will be seen in his original good state at the beginning of the game. I speculated earlier that he would be introduced as a friendly character, and I still think that’s the case. His conversion will most likely be a key plot point. Maybe he falls into a bubbling pit of nightmares halfway through the game.Haruka wrote:Don't say nonsense, there is no doubt he is a Teensie.
I'm am curious to learn in future what made a Teensie turn to the dark side and learning dark magic.
How do you know he’s hiding his face to conceal his identity from Rayman? Perhaps he simply likes that hat and doesn’t fancy taking it off just because Rayman knows his face? Or perhaps Rayman himself doesn’t learn Mr Dark’s identity in the game?SpaceMama wrote:It is obvious that Mr. Dark is a teensie. He is probably an old one. Personally, I don't think Mr. Dark fits to be a teensie. And seriously, why do Mr. Dark hide his face in Rayman 1 if Rayman already knew how he looked. This makes no sense. Anyone else agree?

Yeah, a loooooot has changed in the time i've been away. I've always held fond memories of this place and promised myself I'd pop in to see you guys when Rayman was back, and it's great to see you're all here to support it too.Hunchman801 wrote:Great to see you back, K.NARREN!K.NARREN wrote:With Rayman Origins back, I've been lurking on this topic. Also, anyone noticed how Mr Dark seems to be standing on a Polokus styled stone? I'm not sure any of this is coincidental...
Re: Rayman Origins
That stone looks to me more like the stone Polokus was standing on most of the time in Rayman 2...

It is possible.spiraldoor wrote:If Polokus’s nightmares can corrupt Electoons into Darktoons, they can also warp a good Teensy into a bad one. I'll be waiting for the game's release and see what happens.
To be honest, Mr. Dark being a Teensie was one of the creatures I less expected to correspond to him. I'm sure the reasons for such are interesting to learn about.

This is what K.Narren said, Weeola.
Re: Rayman Origins
Maybe we'll find out that Mr Dark is the bad side of Polokus itself... This could explain why he is standing on Polokus' stone...
Re: Rayman Origins
Oh...
I thought that a "Polokus styled stone" meant something a little diffrent...

Re: Rayman Origins
Yes, I had, but still... I hope they have some explanation though, like 'due to the many energies, creatures became more and more magical, some even losing their arms or legs'. Didn't Rayman have no legs and stuff because the nymphs (Betilla and company) didn't have enough lums when they created him?spiraldoor wrote:As you may have noticed, they are heavily redesigning certain characters to strengthen the overall continuity of the series.need my speed wrote:Yes, it'll return.

Re: Rayman Origins
Creatures becoming limbless as they grow more and more magical would clash with the official explanation that Rayman’s limblessness was due to a lack of Lums. If they want to explain it, they could have Mr Dark steal everyone’s Lums, or maybe get Bubble Dreamer to use his reality-warping powers to make everyone resemble Rayman for some reason.

Re: Rayman Origins
Yahoo! My dad present this for my birthday!!!! This monitor can translate video and sound from PC and PS3 at the same time!
Before I wanted to buy monitor and PS3 independently, and it very difficult. Now I must buy only PS3, and I can do it, hooray!!! But I will buy legal copy RO only for PC, if it release. PS3 games for our country very expensive
it's 1/10 of average salary in Russia. It's terrible...

You're right... It's too much complicated.spiraldoor wrote:How do you fit Jano into your theory?RaySpola wrote:Maybe we'll find out that Mr Dark is the bad side of Polokus itself... This could explain why he is standing on Polokus' stone...
Anyhow I think that the lack of limbs of the characters is non-canon and they won't explain it...

Re: Rayman Origins
Let's be honest guys, it's not like any of us aren't used to Ubisoft basically screwing with Rayman's continuity. I think the amount of effort they've put in so far with making origins cover all three games is pretty good without EVERYTHING having to connect.

Do you ever talk about anything other than the fact that you want them to make a PC version of Rayman Origins?NotaKuroi wrote:Yahoo! My dad present this for my birthday!!!! This monitor can translate video and sound from PC and PS3 at the same time!

I recall saying something similar to someone (ParadoxJuice?) a few months back. If Ubisoft put too much effort into plugging plot-holes and plastering over continuity errors, the result will be a series connected by a web of unnecessary explanations which will inevitably end up contradicting each other and could quite possibly result in a disastrous continuity reboot as the developers lose track of what they’re doing.K.NARREN wrote:Let's be honest guys, it's not like any of us aren't used to Ubisoft basically screwing with Rayman's continuity. Re: Rayman Origins
^Exactly. It's already admirable that they're doing as much as they are and at the same time establishing a fourth unique mode of Rayman.

It is. I hope Dolphin is able to run it though. I don't think the 3DS version runs on a normal DS, does it?
