Yeah, the purple Lums and flying hooks are the spiritual successors of the flying rings. I mean, if they use a watermelon instead of a plum in RO, will it have a separate article? I guess that the console version will be realesed in November because like I said before, this game would be an episodic one, so when they where saying last year that it would be realesed it was the 1st episode of the game wich would only have like 4/5 stages and then later they would make the other stages for the 2nd episode, but when they made it a full retail game they started creating all the stages, cutscenes and other stuff from like 4 episodes in 1.Diamante wrote:I saw the release date is in Novemver, why too late if this game was report 1 year ago?
The portable version will be realesed next year because it as to be redone in a new game engine to suport 3D and not HD graphics in the case of the 3DS.

To be honest, I can't see why you would buy Origins for 3DS supposing you can buy it for something else. So far I find it to be a game of... average length. This means it's supposed to be played with friends for "pure nonsense fun" (and in case of handheld, it is not that normal), replayed all over again (so far, trailers didn't show level design encouraging this), or just a troll (do not think so).
RO was meant to be episodic, but for some reason they decided to pack, like, 2-4 episodes in one bag. This means release date push, happening once, is fully acceptable.

I think it's a shame they're doing it a 20 hour game. That's awfully short! Isn't the average about 40 hours? The prupose of the handled consoles is to take them everywhere, Imagine you go i dunno, camping.
You cant take your console with you, it takes to much space, but if you bring your handled that can fit in your pocket you can still enjoy the game without any problem.

Zelda games are 50+ hours and so are self respecting first person shooters. I'm not sure how much R2 is but I think it's well over 20 hours.

There was once a point where I could beat Rayman 2, Dreamcast version, in just about 4 and a half hours straight, whether I backtracked or not I can't remember because I was 13 back them haha.

Then there is the multiplayer mode, side quests, missions and replay values wich dont take part of the "main game", but if you include that then almoust every game are 40-50 hours lenght.

I sort of know that, I have a DS(L). However, a handheld game is (usually) more focused on single player. Why? This means multiplayer modes on handheld games usually become less of a feature and more of an extra that is added when it makes sense (e.g. in racing games). Net is slowly changing that, but gameplay of RO seems to be similar to that of NSMBWii at least a bit - and I can perfectly see why they didn't add online to it, half of multiplayer fun comes from doing stuff which would be normally perceived as trolling on the Webz. Moreover, is online going to be featured even in PS360 versions of RO?

Now that you mention that I believe you're right. In the co-op mode, life points do not exist and each character is instantanly killed at touch. It makes a more fair, fun and challenging game when playing in co-op.Tmsp95 wrote:

The 20 hours must be a default time. It will obviously depend of the skills of every player. I dont mind the life bar at all in fact I really like the challanging of trying not to lose life points or game over but when I play with other persons like my little brother or my friends its always good to have those infinite continues since sometimes they arent very good at the game and when they lose they have to whait until I die also or beat the whole stage so they can play again.

Life points work better than health bars. It reminds me also that games like Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus didn't had life points/bars/limited continues at all and it worked pretty well anyway.

Whether bard or points work better depends on damage being fixed or not IMHO. Oh, and whether they are done by Backbone Entertainment.

Rayman DS was a bad port in almoust everything, you cant even beat The Tomb of the Ancients because the game breaks at the spider.
