I'm gonna see if it's on sale yet sometime in the week so stay tuned.
Re: Rayman himself
Whatever happened to the activity in here?
I remember somebody posting in this forum a link to a digital version of that issue and I just love it how the author of the review [in said issue] wrote Michel Ancel didn't give any of the characters from the first installment limbs because he lacked talent...

Re: Rayman himself
I already said in the Rayman 1 thread that I bought the Retro gamer magazine I mentioned earlier. There's nothing amazingly new in there other than that the game was in fact supposed to be on the Super Nintendo CD though the hardware never even came out; but it's nice to see Retro gamer finally doing an article about Rayman.

Re: Rayman himself
Thank you very much Stace (Ahaha, "episodes in YouTube", you got famous
). I got happy to know also that the article refered to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.

Re: Rayman himself
Haven't had an influx of comments lately though, guess some people just don't care, and that's not a bad thing considering the high amounts of moan and groan on there. I left RetrogamerDaz a comment on the youtube video about the issue I linked to earlier, saying that the show never aired in the UK.
Honestly though...back in 2000 I would flick through every TV guide I got hold of, checking all the channels with kids' stuff up and down for it, but nothing. I even had satellite TV at the time [which I no longer do, shit's too expensive nowadays] and even on the kids channels there it didn't air, not even Fox Kids which showed that crappy Donkey Kong cartoon around the time.
The lack of funds thing is still true though, I heard lots of places on the internet that it ran out of cashmonies even after being funded by the Quebec government [picked that up from a magazine that had a small section about it].

Re: Rayman himself
Rayman Animated Series is practicaly unknown in Portugal. If the series were made into the 26 promissed episodes there would be the chance of have aired in the televisions here, but only 4...

Re: Rayman himself
Wikipedia wrote:Throughout his adventures, Rayman has accumulated a number of allies. These include bumbling Globox, helpful flying greenbottle Murfy, the numerous Teensies, and mystical Ly the Fairy, who has oddly not been seen since Rayman 2 except in handheld spin-offs. Rayman is also very close friends and allies with Crash Bandicoot, as well as other PlayStation heroes such as Spyro the Dragon, Spider, Gex and Croc, as they were featured in an issue of Powerstation magazine.
Re: Rayman himself
I hate the Wikipedia pages about games. That's a good example.
Re: Rayman himself
I'm sorry if this is spamming, but I have to repeat a certain phrase I used the last time I was a bit stranged out, while replying to a message which makes no sense and is just plain weird (I'm replying now to the statement from Wikipedia as posted here by spiraldoor two posts ago).
What the hell

When the article gets the article feedback tool I'm giving it a looooooooooow rating so everyone can see how much it sucks.

The first four were so crappy I'm quite happy they stopped actually.Haruka wrote:Rayman Animated Series is practicaly unknown in Portugal. If the series were made into the 26 promissed episodes there would be the chance of have aired in the televisions here, but only 4...
Re: Rayman himself
That brings me a question...
Is Rayman's world called "Glade of Dreams" from the second game onwards or did I mess something up?
I remember the name appearing in the back side of the cover of said game but I'm no longer sure...
I ask this because in the PL Wikipedia it's said that Rayman's world didn't have a name until 2003, when Rayman 3 was released...
I posted a request there (because I suck at editing there) but I still would like to be sure I'm right...

Re: Rayman himself
Thank you very much for the answer!
But now I'll have to edit that entry in the discussion of the Wiki...

Re: Rayman himself
Well, if a Rayman fan looks for serious information about his games I believe he/she'll read for sure RayWiki.
Re: Rayman himself
That is if they find raymanpc.com. It's just unfortunate that the official Wikipedia, the one that a large proportion of fans will refer to, often occupies shitridden articles like the one posted above
Re: Rayman himself
That and if they speak English...
I remember another Rayman Wiki (from the Wikia website) where they said Ly is similar to a squirrel since the statue from Rayman M is holding a nut...

Re: Rayman himself
Wikipedia isn’t supposed to link to unofficial fansites, but the longer those RayWiki links stay there, the better.
