Re: Rayman Deluxe
Rayman can be gotten to work pretty much perfectly (or nearly at least) in epsxe. I think Pete's Software graphical plugin will get you the best results as far as graphics go. I'm not sure how the videos display (not tested it lately), but try the software plugin if you haven't. It's FAR more compatible and graphically accurate than the D3D or OpenGL ones. You should be able to get it here- http://www.pbernert.com/html/gpu.htm#SOFTWIN
As for the sound, you can get the sound to loop properly by using the CD plugin called CDR Mooby v2.8- http://www.emulator-zone.com/download.p ... y28win.zip
To use it though, you'll need a Rayman PS1 iso. So if you're playing from the original CD, you have to create one from the disk. If you already have one, good. In the config, just select the option that says "repeat all CDDA tracks" and load the Rayman iso with the option below. With this plugin, all music and sound SHOULD loop correctly now. I don't think the sound plugin matters much but i use Eternal SPU plugin.
And for the crawling, i suspect you just don't know how to do it. You don't just hit down and the direction (or even with the combination of the jump button like the DOS version). The crawling option is actually mapped to the shoulder buttons. I forget which set of L/R buttons, but you should figure it out by now. Just hold the left set to crawl left, right to crawl right. Don't even bother ducking prior to that, holding the shoulder buttons down ducks for you anyways. What an odd way to crawl.
Only issue is that i don't know which emulator you're using, so all my advice may be useless. ePSXe works best still though. It's just a shame the Sega Saturn emulator SSF can't play Rayman properly yet. It's a big mess and i'm lucky if i can even get the game to boot to the first level (then the controls spazz out).

Re: Rayman Deluxe
On the crawling thing, I found that out. I have Psxfin, so the thing with the graphics won't work, and I doubt that anything brought up will work. It's no big deal though, I'm not in this for the music, I'm in it for the level maps and the sound effects (I have the graphics and sound effects all ready ripped by the way.)
Re: Rayman Deluxe
Ah i see. I assume you need that emulator to rip stuff because epsxe won't? My bad. The music at least is easy enough to find anywhere in high quality (i think it's actually on the CD itself and you can just play the files using any media player). Sorry i can't help.

Re: Rayman Deluxe
Sounds like this is going to turn out really well. I'm looking forward to playing it.
Re: Rayman Deluxe
Well then, isn't this just smashing! You all thought I was gone, didn't you? Sorry, I've been on a hiatus working with the music. (I got the soundtrack for the Jag version by the way, and it's AMAZING!)

So here it is, the first of my remixed tracks: Band land. It contains the main theme from the CD versions and then a remix of the chiptune version as a sort of athletic theme in between. Please tell me what you guys think, I'd love to know!
Coming eventually: Pink Plant Woods...

Wow, that's a really cool remix!
I really like it! Keep it up!

Re: Rayman Deluxe
Thanks! I re-composed that myself, although I have to give credit where credit is due.
L.M. Murphy is the awesome dude that ripped the Atari Jaguar Rayman soundtrack, and Electoon's brother made a MIDI file of the Band Land Jaguar theme that helped me compose the athletic bit better.
I've got the sheet music for Pink Plant Woods, I just need to figure out the bass for the Jaguar version.

Great! Looking forward to it!
Re: Rayman Deluxe
Ummm, yes. Does anyone know where I can find a MIDI of Pink Plant woods? I base most of my compositions off of midi files and I need one for a test track. I've tried importing the mp3 in, but it insists that I must use a MIDI file.
Re: Rayman Deluxe
don't ask me, I suck at music when it comes to finding certain kinds of files.

He was asking for the files, not an indication of your searching skills. If you have nothing to contribute, then please keep quiet. If you want a chatter, do it here...RayTunes wrote:don't ask me, I suck at music when it comes to finding certain kinds of files.
Do you mean this and this? Those are often referred as the theme of Pink Plant Woods... But what digital audio workstation or editor do you use to make your compositions?Betaman wrote:Ummm, yes. Re: Rayman Deluxe
I work in LMMS. I find that program easy to use and when given the correct samples, can end up sounding great. I also work with Fruity Loops sometimes, but not as much as LMMS. No, those files are not the correct ones. The one I'm searching for was called pink plant woods on the sheet music, so I refer to it as such. I believe the name the song was given on Raytunes was First steps. If you pop the Rayman Playstation disk into a CD player and start the music, it will play after the ubisoft logo.
The reason for a midi is that I'm using a PIANO part, not the fully arranged version that you hear everywhere. I've got a midi making program and I'm working on the piano part for the test track though.
Also, please note that some of the music will NOT be remixed, as it is extended from the Jaguar music. Two tracks that I can say off the top of my head are Mr. Dark's Boss music and The Magician's challenge. Those don't need to have anything added (In fact the CD track of Mr. Dark's theme is actually extended from the Jaguar version, which simply played the main bit over and over.) so they won't be remixed at this time.

Looks nice but it would be nice if you included the coloured tings from Rayman Gold...

Re: Rayman Deluxe
I'll download it but please make Moskito dark red and purple like in PSX.I saw a post where they asked you to make it pink but that person must know that it was a mistake. The pink one is Bzzit and the dark red one is the real Moskito. If you don't trut me,then just think: it doesn't make sense that he bacomes your friend and get you to his nest and later kill you.If he didn't want you to go to his nest then he wouldn't have taken you there xD
Re: Rayman Deluxe
Exactly, though I did hear some weird theories like The Swamps of Forgetfulness making the first mosquitto, who would - by that theory - be Moskito, forget he made friends with Rayman and then, after forgetting him, fights him again, but it's utter nonsense

No,it makes no sense at all xD So you want him to be like in PSX (The REAL Moskito),right?Rulez wrote:Exactly, though I did hear some weird theories like The Swamps of Forgetfulness making the first mosquitto, who would - by that theory - be Moskito, forget he made friends with Rayman and then, after forgetting him, fights him again, but it's utter nonsense
