Stan's "surprise"
Hello everybody.
I promised you a surprise - and you will get the surprise.
This is a crappy Windows game made by Stan over last 18 months.
Game is written in C++ utilising Allegro 4.2 and AllegroOGG of unknown version and compiled with again unknown version of mingw g++ utilising Dev-C++. Source files are included, though useless. This is my first game and I didn't project its architecture too well. On the other hand, if you have a Linux box, trying to port it should be easy.
If you don't want sources, you may erase every file inside but ones with extensions exe, dat, cfg and txt.
Because README file is outdated, I included "saves" directory, containing configuration files introducing you to different elements of the game. Just overwrite the file in main directory.
Menu is ugly and bitch to use but straightforward for the most part. To change color, click on palette, then on changed color. Rest should be obvious.
Have fun! Feedback is appreciated.
PS Game is way more fun if you play it with lots of friends, CPUs are written by Stan, so obviously unbalanced.
PS2 As absurdal as it is, you pause the game with PAUSE key.

Re: Stan's "surprise"
I see some confusion (did you really use attached config files?), so I'll clarify the rules. Basically, you are a curve and you shall not die. You get hurt - so in classic "1 hp" mode you die - when you bump into stuff, when you get bombed, lazored, etc. Best way to check out what is going on is to test skills individually - add a CPU or two with nothing equipped.
Also, thanks Matyuv, glad you found it not so bad as I expected.

I perfectly see you have no time to check it now. Still, no mercy from Monday.

Re: Stan's "surprise"
I'm sorry Stan but I won't try it before record day is over!
Re: Stan's "surprise"
You should've posted this before or after Record Day..

Re: Stan's "surprise"
I posted it before record day. The fact that distance was hours was caused by unfortunate sequence of events involving record day, Polish Public Post and Mario Kart Wii.
Re: Stan's "surprise"
I downloaded it before Record Day and I'll try it out after it. I'm excited to see what it is!
