From now on I'm going to publish our news on Facebook and Twitter as well, and give those accounts more visibility on the portal.

Following on RPC on Twitter now.
Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
I'm following RPC on Twitter!
Great updates on the portal! Though, we might be in need of a new RPC logo.

Thanks, it's not over though! ;D As concerns our old logo I'm using on the portal, I must confess that I really love it.
Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
I think the portal got more attractive now.

Re: Twitter
Let's discuss Twitter? okay.
I have a twitter account, I have logged into it once, I have never used it.
That is all.

Re: Twitter
Ah, an opportunity to merge threads, no?
There's already a Twitter thread here: viewtopic.php?p=443482#p443482
I'll merge these.

Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
Good stuff. So who is using twitter now that wants to have fwiends?
Using twitter means NOTHING if no one sees what I tweet.
Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
I subscribed to Twitter a few months ago and have been using it sparingly. I haven't used Facebook for years though.

Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
Facebook seems more geared toward the everyday person, whereas with Twitter, it's moreso celebrities, famous people or others that have a fanbase for something they consistently do. It's why I never understood why a regular person would prefer Twitter for posting and such as opposed to Facebook; Twitter especially, unless you're someone with a sizable following, just seems like an incredibly pointless thing to use as a social networking tool. Most people I know who tweet on a regular basis' pages are a total wasteland, filled with their own posts and maybe one or two retweets once in a while.
I have Facebook (and have since 2009), as it's the method I use to connect with my friends and schoolmates. My profile's become sort of a mess though, as owning a wall since the dawn of your fourteenth year can't really prove to be the best quality of history. I have Twitter as well, though my profile is entirely empty and private, as I only use it to follow some specific things I like that only really use Twitter

Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
The only reason I occasionally visit Twitter is, like Adsolution said, for people who have a big following. I sometimes read the page from Jontron, Game Grumps, and Atoms for Peace, but I don't know why anyone would be interested in reading a daily 30 tweets from some fella who says things like "Back from the supermarket. Time for lunch!!"
As for Facebook, I may eventually use that, but it would be for people who I know online and never in real life. I tried it once and in a single day I got a ton of friendship requests from people I don't interact with or even really like. Hell, even the mother of an early childhood friend send me a request. What the fuck. And oh, if you dare not accept it and keep society happy then you must be really lonely and on the edge of depression because obviously having 500 friends you never talk to is how to keep your social life shining. Yeah... no.

Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
It's just my opinion, but I find that Facebook is more geared toward popular teenagers and party-goers rather than ordinary folk like me. When I used it it all seemed to be about how many friends you have, who is writing on your "wall", who has the best profile image, how many "likes" you receive, etc. It seemed more like a popularity contest than a social networking site.
Twitter has its problems too, of course, but it somehow seems more mature and adult-like than Facebook.

Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
Basically yes, though when I say 'ordinary folk,' I mean it in a very broad sense, referring to those who aren't 'famous' to a reasonable degree. I completely agree with you on Facebook being built like a popularity contest, which is exactly why I'd rather not use it if it didn't happen to be what everyone around me uses to contact eachother.Xenon wrote:It's just my opinion, but I find that Facebook is more geared toward popular teenagers and party-goers rather than ordinary folk like me. Re: Twitter?Facebook?Anyone?
I made a facebook account upon which I deactivated it, then I re-created it but never really use it, seems pathetic to me. The only friends I had were people from school and other randoms I don't even know that sent friend requests...
