Rayman Revenge - Game Idea

Post by Keane »

Recently an discussion was going on about if Rayman would fit in a dramatic based game. I thought he could, and decided how I could best work this out. I have done some artwork with paper and a pencil, but no images to really show you. This fan-idea of a Rayman game is hugely based on Rayman 1, Rayman 2 (Cancelled), Rayman 4 (Cancelled) and Epic Mickey. See here: Rayman Revenge:

THE STORY OF RAYMAN REVENGE
The not known character, known as The General is the main antagonist of this story. Two years after the Hoodlum invasion, strange things happen around Rayman's world. Lately people have disappeared, behavior is changing and most curious of all: The eye's from people change. Many are lost, and the world of Rayman is changing. After 11 months, Rayman is one of the few left. Afraid and confused, Rayman goes explores the world to find the answer to this curious case. But Rayman doesn't have to search. During the night, an unexpected war is happening around the Fairy Council. Mr. Dark appears to be the one behind this crime. the evil wizard had escaped, but never been defeated. His minions are Hoodlums and and Robo-Pirates. The Hoodlums are mostly the same, but these pirates are of a different species. Mr. Dark had spent many hours finding the correct lum to scare, but completed his mission. Andre and Mr. Dark have made a deal of working together, seeking revenge. Yet, Mr. Dark is not the one behind this. The General is. Years did it take him. Creating a poison that could make one listen to only him. Now, the world was blaming Mr. Dark for this happening. According to the Magician, The General is hiding in plains that none has ever returned from. Rayman must once again be the hero and find plains from the legends.

WORLDS

Chapter 01
The Fairy Council
This world gives much more attention to the short world from Rayman 3. Go into the depths of the building, exploring caves full of crystals. This shows a more detailed version of the council. The forest is also a large part of this world. Huge dead trees with many small houses where the poor live. This gives a much more magical look into this unexplored world.

Chapter 02:
Band Land
This world lets you walk through Band Land as you know it. The happy plains, beautiful clouds and magical atmosphere. The typical world to be returning in an Rayman game. It is hiding something, but you don't know what. This world is quite small, as you will soon have to enter the real Band Land. Dramatic events are to come soon.

Chapter 03:
Band Land Depths
This world starts of in the night. A change in music is quickly noticed, and it seems uncomfortable. After few small challenges in this strange sky, and the real spirit of Band Land is seen. Large black mountains, thunderstorms, unexpected enemies and a scary atmosphere. Rayman must cross this world of doom in order to find the Skull Mountains, which is said to lead to the plains. Band Land is not what it ever seemed like.

Chapter 04:
The Desert of The Knaarens
Once entering the Skull Cave, it leads Rayman to the Desert of the Knaaren. These were not the plains, but the place sure is deadly. Rayman must enter the desert, which is barely shown in Rayman 3. Small pits with references to Rayman 3 are included, but you are mostly outside. Bones and skulls are all over the place. These are the only escape.

Chapter 05:
The Town of Ages
This is the only original world in the game. Yet, inspired by the Medieval Ages world from Rabbids: Travel in Time 3D. Walk through a peaceful kingdom and fight your way through a castle. Robo-Pirates are hidden in every corner, so beware. Day and night both show different happenings. Prepare for battle.

Chapter 06:
Picture City
The world we all know. Erasers, pencils and paint in a colourful collection of mountains. This world is very similar to the original, and now in 3D. The fun will never end in this beautiful and trusted place.

Chapter 07:
Creative City
This world looks like Picture City. However, it now takes place in a huge room. Lots of tricky jumping and fighting is required to get pass this strange room. Many items based on paint are seen here. It is also a reference to the brown background from Rayman 1. Let the pink lums be your guide.

Chapter 08:
Garbage City
Once outside of the room, Rayman enters a world with the same items as Picture City, but everything is huge and looks like garbage. Old and used items are found here, giving a depressing feeling.

Chapter 09:
Picture City Caverns
These caverns are filled with ink rivers. Rayman shall have to cross these. But beware, the space pirates are looking for you.

Chapter 10:
Space Mama's Crater
Wal around a world made out of wood. Both viking and space theme are found here. Watch out, many creatures are hidden. You will have to find you way through this jolly maze, but survive as well.

Chapter 11:
The Blue Mountains
This world starts of with some cliffs and large stones. The sky is dark and there is a sad wind blowing. The first of this world will mostly play in the night and lakes of lava. Trees with plums, rain and a tiki-themed world is awaiting you. This will look like the level from the cancelled Rayman 2. Unlike anything a Rayman game has ever showed before.

Chapter 12:
The Peaks of The Blue Mountains
Suddenly, it becomes day and for the first time light is seen in these mountains. However, many creatures come out. Hunters and Lividstone have been given the poison, and are back to battle Rayman. You must also platform your way over the mountains.

Chapter 13:
The Prison Ship
This ship was destroyed and has fallen into the ocean. The bits and pieces have been put together into a hideout for the Robo-Pirates. Even Hoodlums don't dare enter this place. A horror themed building this is. In here Rayman shall find a way to find the plains. Many people say a map is hidden. Rayman must find his courage and search for the map, and most of all, beware.

OTHER THINGS

-One or two 2D minigames should be found in every chapter, making a reference to the challenges from the Magician. Sometimes you have to ride Moskito.
-When going to a new world, a 2D level similar to 2D Madness has to be beaten. However, it can also be a Hooverboard level.
-You can play as Joe when the game is completed 100%

So, you guys like my idea?

P.S.
I should add an update at least once a week.

It's nice, I see you put a lot of work into it. :) I only have to say that it seems a frightening amount like my game, especially at certain parts. The introduction/story sounds the exact same except for the fact that this is after 3, and up until the part where it mentions the hoodlums. Also some similarities such as "Band Land" and "band Land Depths," comparing to "The Dream Forest" and "Dream Forest Depths," and the fact that the depths' both start at night. Also there's you "Blue Mountains" and Blue Mountains Peak" corresponding with my The Ice Volcano" and Starlight Peak."

I hope this is all coincidental. :P I don't really care if it is, I'm just pointing this out.

Now that I think about it, it does look a lot like it.

I've always adored the nameless forest that starts in Rayman 3, and thought i'd be a great idea if a larger world was made out of this piece of art.
I got most of my inspiration from Epic Mickey. Not the game, but the idea of taking well-known places and turn them into something completely different. I thought i'd try this with Rayman, and this is my result. I actually forgot to add Picture City into it, so i'll add it tomorrow. I didn't actually look into your game, but I do like your idea's very much. The images look amazing. Especially the ones in the night.

I like most of it.Just wanna point one thing. If there will be Robo-Pirates why don't you add Razorbeard to the evil team?
Rayman 2 is a very good quality game and I think that if you include every villains from the series but not Razorbeard but include Robo-Pirates it would be strange. And I think Robo-Pirates should be Henchmen800 but I like the rest of it.

Haha no, TK!
You're thinking of Rayfan or that3Dguy!
This person here just shared his idea for a game but is not actually doing anything.

This idea was based on the cancelled version of Rayman 2. This had different pirates with The General as their ruler. The pirates were replaced by Henchman and The General by Razorbeard.

Picture City has now been added. Please not that this game should feature two expansion packs, but it will likely not fit all in one post.

I'm pretty sure it could fit in one post. My op in my thread is like 20 pages long. RPC has very light boundaries.

Sounds Interesting to say the least! This is one epic game idea but i have one question, would you think of it as a co-op or will it be a bit like Rayman 2 with Ly and Globox as NPC?
