I won't be working on any gameplay aspects until the new engine is out, although for some reason I never thought of just plain modeling. Well I'll be on that then.

Is the engine like a program in itself? So does it work like 3DS Max or Blender or something? Or is it incorporated into one such program, like as if it were a plug-in?

It is in fact it's own program. modeling/texturing/animations are done through exporting plugins in 3Ds Max/Maya/Photoshop. The engine uses a CGF (Crytek Geometry File) format for brushes/models, CGA for animated objects, CHR for rigged character models, ANM for character animations, and DDS for texture files.

The engine is not a cutback. It is the exact same thing they used to create Far Cry, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Blue Mars, Crysis 2, Warface, and more.

Hey everybody, I'm planning on using Raygirl after all, although I want to give her an actual name. Try to think up something mystical yet short and casual. Something that sounds like it could be a distant relative of Rayman (preferably not a compound word, and not including the word "girl.")

Why do I suddenly want to use her as a character again? Well back in the "Rayman Rabid Rabbits" (2005) time, Ancel said that Rayman would have a girlfriend and included a rough picture.
