@the three identical quoters:

Haha, yeah it's over an octave below normal talking average (which is about E3-G3). :oops2: I'm not sure if commitment is quite the right word, it's more eager experimentation I'd think. Then again if you're getting paid to do so, you'd do it for the money anyway. But THEN AGAIN coughing blood is a little much maybe. I don't know. ;)

Anyway, expect another soundtrack part in the next day or two as well as a couple more concepts. These soundtracks have a lot more epicness to them than the recent ones, as they all are at epic parts the game.

Sounds cool! I'm afraid there's not that much to talk about for me in this topic except for the technical aspects, simply because I don't want to read all the storyline of the game before I get to play it... :)
Maybe you could make a teaser trailer when it's coming along nicely, so we can loosely grasp the concept of the game without being spoilt on the story too much.

You're probably right. I shouldn't give away too much of the story. That's the problem though, I'd have to pick and choose what I show.

Hardy har, my cake! I guess I'll just have to use problem solving skills here. It's like choosing which kids to shoot in the foot if you had to shoot some in order for the world to stay together.

Or somethin'.

Isn't one of my Concept Arts gonna be in there?

EDIT: Clarke - Another part of Ly's resistance group, Clarke is the rock, the stone, the stability that can blast brute force through the group like no other. He is first seen earlier in Mount Kollapso plowing through stone men (in a non-homosexual context).

XD! *Beebo44 luvs the last part of the description.)

I have one billion updates!

First, here's three more concepts:

Scene in the Temporal Palace:

The Grand Vulture Rhook:

Rhook flying you to the present after showing you the location of Dark Rayman (inspired form the original "Rayman 4" trailer):

And last but not least, part 16 of the soundtrack! (DesLife, you're up.)

1. "The Ice Volcano: Sacrificial Saving" - 0:00
2. "The Ice Volcano: Magmont" - 2:12
3. "Temporal Palace: Soar Me To The Present" - 4:42
4. "The Dream Forest: Night Time Ambiance" - 7:00

YAY TRACKS

Sacr : the strings sound like a James Bond track ahah, love the wah-wah. Sounds mysterious but not oppressing, very enjoyable.
Magmont : the first min is too repetitive and I'm not found of its chord progression. It gets way better after 3:12, I love everything but the piano. Also I think the ending doesn't really fit the track.
Soar Me : on first listening, I didn't like it until 5:45, but I like the whole track now. Nice intro and nice ending. The violin bugged me at first but it sounds good now.
Night Ambiance : have you used that intro in another track ? It sounds familiar. I feel that track really fits the place, it will be great in the Dream Forest.

Congrats again, now hurry up and make maor tracks. :P

Aha, I like the Rayman 1 references in your music! Nice artwork, too. I usually make smaller drawings to sketch scenes - gives you less space to worry about filling up/leaving open.
EDIT:
SMTTP reminds me a lot of certain music in Jazz Jackrabbit 2 in some parts... funny.
And the Dream Forest Ambience just sounds really creepy... :shock: But ever since I've played Fable 2/3 I've grown quite anxious around music box sounds... if you've played the games, you'll know what I mean.

Thank you :mryellow:

@Des:
Thanks! I have used that intro before, namely in the original menu theme from part 8. I'm not a hundred percent sure what I'll do with that one.

@Shrooby:
huh, I've never played that game.. probably should.

Haha... it doesn't really sound like it - just the same scheme of melody. It's got quite good music, JJ2 - and it's quite a lot of fun to play too. It's a cartoony kind of comical, if you know what I mean.

Oh, and what's the instrument that comes in around 9:12/9:13? It sounds like some sort of wooden instrument, like a flute or something, but I can't quite place what it is.

I's a Chinese Xiao flute. As you can see I've used a number of Asian instruments. And I also know what you mean about the description of the theme, but what's JJ2?

Awesome then. It was one of those things where you can't think of a name, then you close your mind and think the first thing that comes to your head. The reason I chose it is because of the crow counterpart, a rook. I figured a little bit of light irony would work well in Rayman, especially something like this... plus the "h" to make it sound a bit more ancient.
And the Dream Forest Ambience just sounds really creepy... :shock: But ever since I've played Fable 2/3 I've grown quite anxious around music box sounds... if you've played the games, you'll know what I mean.
I've played Fable 1 and 2, and I do know what you mean. That in fact has given me some inspiration for that sort of thing.
