I actually chuckled at this out loud. XD But it would make sense in a way, maybe he didn't want Ly to know about his not-as-heroic "childhood".

In all seriousness though. True the lack of consistency is a shame, in a way.. but it's still not very unheard of for platformer genre. Personally I've gotten used to it in so many series that I don't really mind anymore.

I thought the reason that they renamed him in the first place was to make it more consistent.

Chance 6. TIME PARADOX

Seriously, it was said it is a reboot, which means they will bend the canon.

Bottle! Seed! Also, gameplay is not so similar to R1 that it would be a problem.

You just reminded me of our uncle from shore which found a quite aciddy soup of mom spicy, we thought it was a joke and added some pepper, and he reacted as we have put 9000 jalapenos in it.

Chance 7 and the most possible. Polokus doesn't say his name to rayman NEVER, and rayman can only identify him by the name of "the Bubble Dreamer". Maybe when Ly says "Polokus" rayman doesn't know who is she talking about, but when he meets him maybe he has the chance to recognize him but keeps quiet for respect. Also, there's a simple explanation for the absence of the bubbles in later games, in a preview it says that Polokus is accompanied by some fakirs that try to turn him into a more serious god because he acts like a kid. This is what I think: He's a god, he can do to his world whatever he wants when he's dreaming, and he can create things with the method that most amuses him, so it looks like he likes bubbles now, but when he turns more mature, then he will get bored of them and start using the spiral method to make connections across his world because he finds it more interesting.

This would make sense if RO team would be a little more logical.

Why is it I can never go to school without all of you making five new pages on this topic? :confus:

We must also remember that this game is made after the trilogy, and Ubisoft did not think about this game when they made them. I personally don't think Ubi will make the story so extremely detailed that every bit and piece of other stories make sense.

Yay! I can't wait to face Skops again.

Rayman Origins earlier in North America. I guess that is one of the good thing's about moving their, I can play it earlier while i'm European. :hinhinhin: I won't be posting spoilers....

This would make more sense if the whole series had serious continuity (specially from rayman 1 to rayman 2). Anyway, I don't think that they would explain that, I mean, it looks like the story will be purely graphic and characters won't talk, so we can use our imagination to figure out what's happening.

That's possible. The name Polokus isn't used in Rayman Origins.
sergiomonty wrote:but when he meets him maybe he has the chance to recognize him but keeps quiet for respect.
This I doubt. From what we've seen in RO, Rayman (me :D) was on friendly terms with the Bubble Dreamer - we hung out together at my tree house. Keeping quiet after being separated for so long doesn't really fit with my character.
sergiomonty wrote:Also, there's a simple explanation for the absence of the bubbles in later games, in a preview it says that Polokus is accompanied by some fakirs that try to turn him into a more serious god because he acts like a kid. It's possible Polokus abandoned the bubbles for that reason, it's impossible to tell for sure at this moment though. We'll just have to wait and see. However, I don't think Polokus was making lots of spiral doors to connect places in the Glade of Dreams after leaving the bubbles behind. Polokus created the Teensies to "unveil all the roads in the world" - so, it would've been up to the Teensies to make spiral doors. We know Polokus was able to make spiral doors, but the only spiral doors we saw him make were used to return me to the Hall of Doors. If he was constantly making them himself, why did he create the Teensies in the first place?

But there's an important continuity error that hasn't been mentioned yet: after Polokus created all the inhabitants of the Glade of Dreams, he went away. The Knowledge of the World in R2 states: After having created all the creatures who live in this world, a harder task remained: creating time. So, Polokus went to the place where all the gods of all the worlds meet, and together they set about dreaming up the future.
That's what Polokus would've been doing before the events of R2. I hadn't found his masks yet, so during RO, Polokus wouldn't have returned yet.
Still, Polokus is clearly seen in RO. So I think it's safe to say Ubisoft has ignored part of R2's lore and trying to make theories to explain Polokus's presence in RO is... well... sort of pointless.

Rayman 1 and Rayman 2 are a strange combination. I mean, they could have changed it to 3D, but is that enough of a reason to remove the creative part's of Rayman? Something like Band Land is R1 exclusive. :pfff: Also, the music from Rayman 2 is great, but i would have preferred if they had stayed with the beauty used in R1's tunes.

I like both R1's areas and those of R2. I think some variety in games is nice. I don't want to revisit every area in every single Rayman game. If Ubisoft had put Band Land and all the other R1 areas in R2, both games wouldn't be as unique any more. I like it how they made new areas for R2 instead. A level like Band Land perhaps wouldn't really fit in R2. It's hard to put into words, but the surreal levels have a totally different atmosphere from the second game, so maybe that's why they made R2's levels more realistic and less surreal. I like both types of environments, though, and I do think it's nice to see R1's areas again in RO. I also like both the Rayman 1 and Rayman 2 music, but I haven't heard R1's music that much, to be honest.

I didn't say i want both worlds, but perhaps something similar to the world's from Rayman: Welcome to Darkland!
The music from Band Land and Picture City are favourites from many people. It got a award back in those days.

Wait, what is Rayman: Welcome to Darkland? Is that a game or something? I've never heard of it.

It's a expansion pack for Rayman 1 made by a fan, he told me it might actually be released end 2012. It features the original game together with more Candy Chateau levels, a toy world, a hammer and saw world, volcano world, beach world, and... bathroom world. :P I think there might have been a different forest as well.
