Ah, yes, I think RayFan said she resolved that ugly glitch a while ago. Though it's true it could be a fun revolution of story at some point. Didn't Rayman wash up on the Glade at the beginning of this game? Maybe he injured his foot by all the floating about at sea and he limps a bit at the beginning?

And now he temporarily can't jump. Think about it, 3d platformer in which you must "learn" to jump. Seeing handless Rayman in R3, this is the only logical continuation.

@Shroobie:
Well it's not so much that I don't have the time, it's just that since my project is getting serious now I'm not so keen on giving others assets I've made. I send that3Dguy my models that need rigging, but he can't use them in RHV. I let him use some parts like hands though (which you can see in his "Henchman 200" model. Sometimes I may make exceptions, but not commonly. Sorry for the long explanation. :oops2:

And I may do something like that. Rayman starts in the Dream Forest though (which isn't part of the Glade).

"Alright, kids, what we will learn in class today is how to defy gravity. Well, this will not be an easy thing to do for most of you at first, but you will get the hang of it as you practice more. Only with years of training will you be able to do it as professionally as I can. Watch this."
Kids: "Woaah..."

Ah, RayFan, understandable. Darn I was kinda considering to see if I could possibly use your Rayman model... :P
Oh well, but nevermind that, my game's far from actually lifting off. I just thought that if someone already made a great effort to make something look amazing, why not show off that amazingness in as many places as possible? But you're right, exclusivity is a good thing too. I'll just have to learn how to model... oh dear.

But yeah, that3Dguy is using a Rayman3 model anyway so it would be a bit hard for him to use yours. ;)

Well like I said, I may reconsider. I'm not going to hand up the model right now, but perhaps when this project gets further to the point that the model is a necessity I could bring it in. :)

Actually Shroobie, I might want to help you with some simpler level design assets.

Yep, that sounds like a logical way of deduction. But I think I've always seen Mr. Dark as someone who thinks Rayman is 'not worthy' of his sourcery and might and that he thus does not confront him openly. But I see where you're coming from and I really like the psychological profile you created for the evil wizard.

Thanks a lot! And no, I wouldn't expect any different - busy busy busy! ;)
Don't forget guys, Ancel probably knew that young'uns as well as older people would be playing the game. So he couldn't exactly make Mr. Dark raise an "Army of the Dead" or something, he had compromise.

But also keep in mind that as we move forward, games with a simple story, take Rayman 1 for example, just don't cut it for any good today. Even a good kiddy story won't do it. So much of a game relies on storytelling nowadays that a lacking story can make the difference from an amazing game to a mediocre game. Of course that's not leaving out all the other aspects which are equally as important, but if you have a bad story to begin with, you won't be in for much, unless you're an overrated franchise like CoD that can drift on a gigantic hyperfanbase alone.

In relation to the main point of your post, of course compromising is needed, but I won't seriously scare the kids, don't worry. At most it'll frighten them in a way that makes them have silly one-day-long fears that makes them use their imagination. Isn't that what growing up is all about?

Oh dammit, I think you just screwed the one childhood memory I never wanted to get over. That scene meant so much to me, so much so that the only time I've ever watched that after my childhood was once about a year ago to get a more mature feel on the movie, and still it makes me shed a tear to this day. I never wanted to watch it enough to get to know it very well, because then it wouldn't hold the same feeling of magic I once felt in it as a kid. This is one movie I would not want to study, analyze, or watch over and over, or watch any sort of clip from on YouTube, and I feel terrible for letting out a giggle. I don't think of that as a good thing.

Although I can't blame you, you weren't born into the Lion King generation so it probably never meant that much to yourself.

Oh-I'm sorry for that. :(

I may not have been born in the Lion King generation, but I sure did watch that movie when I was a kid! When I was little it used to make me feel sad/sorry for Simba (and once or twice I shedded a tear). I've sorta gotten over that feeling lately though...

But you gotta admit attempted murder was pretty funny. oh god, I'm doing it again aren't I?

Ah, swell, glad you watched it as a kid. most people I know in your generation either never watched it or didn't feel it (if you know what I mean). I'll admit the attempted murder thing was extremely funny, though I won't think about it. ;)

I would rage, but RayFan kinda filled you in, so I'll let that past.
Though I will say, I found the cloud scene where Simba discovers "he (mufasa) lives in you(simba)" It was an awesome yet tearful moment, even more than the death of Mufasa for some weird reason.

Well, after the negative comments, I'll be sure not to watch that video in case my LK experience gets tainted. ;)

Alright, normally I wouldn't dare bring anyone into a conversation, but Wariofan279 is an idiot (I'm sure some of you know him). I've been having a conversation with him over YouTube PMs for a while now about him trying to give me ideas for ROTD. Unfortunately he's rather ungrateful that I said both yes and no to some of his ideas, and he whines, complains and whines that they won't get in the game exactly, 100% as he originally wanted them. Most of that is due to him not even being up to date on what's been going on in the last year or more.

He claims the animated series was a terrible and failed show, and including any reference of them would destroy the Rayman canon, and he sent me a long PM describing how bad of an idea it is, and that I'm also ruining the cold character of Razorbeard. I for one am fond of character development, so do any of you see a problem with it?

Mind you I made a few errors when reading his PMs, but I've already apologized to him many times for that. He has yet to apologize for everything he's done.

It's now gotten to the point where he said that everyone who disagrees with his thoughts are incompetent and brainwashed, also calling everyone here the same. Just thought I'd let you all know, since he's really gone over the edge this time. His comments are rather despicable and disgraceful to all of us.
