Re: Furture rayman games
It's still there but barely anyone posts on it, even I haven't been posting on it as much as I did.
No R3DS there is a board for Rabbids games as well and that one is even worse.

I just found it, and it literally felt like I was observing a post-apocalyptic, uncivilized land of doom. There were two posts in threads today, and look what the most recent one summed up to be: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/ ... 4371071719

Anywho, if Rayman were to be an MMO, how would it work?

You never know, being able to explore the Glade Of Dreams, whilst being consistent with typical Rayman gameplay may just work.Rayman3DS wrote:Don't know, but it would suck dick

I didn't say RPG, I said MMO, they don't necessarily mean RPG, for example you could have a MMORTS (Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy)Rayman3DS wrote:No! Rayman as an RPG? What about a MMO platform-game ?
…
Huh, neither. >< I can't imagine how this concept couldn't be boring.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold your horses! What game is this? I must participate!Master4lyf1 wrote:MMORTS (Massively Multiplayer Online Real Time Strategy)
I've only been in an eight-player free-for-all RTS game at largest, which is already quite hectic in itself - but MASSIVE multiplayer... O.o I like!

Re: Furture rayman games
I agree, wouldn't work out. Let alone as an RPG, that would just be the worst thing that could happen. Well, I guess a nuclear war is a close number 2.

So a Rayman RPG is worse than the annihilation of the Human race?El Dango wrote:I agree, wouldn't work out. Let alone as an RPG, that would just be the worst thing that could happen. Well, I guess a nuclear war is a close number 2.
Such Priorities!
Anyway, I think the best person to envision a Rayman game, is the person who was involved with Rayman from the beginning; Michel Ancel, but that's obvious.
However, I am curious on how a Rayman game would work if it was open like BG&E

Re: Furture rayman games
Mmm, I would think more Banjo-Kazooïe, or Banjo-Tooïe (mostly Tooïe). They are platform games, but with a large part of exploration (more than Mario 64).
I often compare Banjo-Tooïe with Metroïd, even if it sound strange.^^ In both of these games, the player has to go back to places he already visited, but with new powers so he can unlock some doors or obstacles. And there are also shortcut everywhere in Banjo-Tooïe.^^
A Rayman Game with an open world, and non-linear levels, with connections between them, could be a great concept.
It would gather platform (well, 3D platform), exploration, and fun.
I don't think it's better than linear platforming (It is just too different), but it can match with the Rayman universe.
But online multiplayer ? No, I really don't see the interest. :/ Even Rayman Origin is a one player game (with a coop mode), and in platform games, we don't really need to interacts with other characters/players. We cross obstacles, that's all !^^
