Yes, yes you should.
Though it does have quite a few years behind it, it becomes 50 in 2013.

I've only seen the new series (from 2005), so my favorite is (of course ?) David Tennant.^^
But I've also watched an episode with Baker (one of Douglas Adams episode, Pirate's Planet), and this actor is also good. =)

I don't really know if I should watch the previous season… On one side, the season 6 is almost finished, and it would be great to have more Doctor Who episodes to see. =)
But on another side… It made old terribly bad ! >< A friend talked me about the very first season (from 1964 Oo), and I'm not sure I want to see this old episodes with a cheesy staging, dialogues, and scenarios… :/

I'll first try the Douglas Adams episodes. Pirate's planet looks also outdated (in staging, ambiance, and actions scenes), but the dialogues and the plot are really awesome ! So, maybe I could start from this season… :)

He played the Doctor in a one off spoof of Doctor Who, I think it was for Comic Relief or something like that.
I hate to break it to you RayTunes, but Rowan Atkinson's Doctor is not considered Canon.

The First episode of Doctor Who was transmitted on 23 November 1963, it was called "An Unearthly Child."

Hang on hang on hold your horses. Douglas Adams, the Douglas Adams? The HHGG Douglas Adams? And he directed/starred in a Doctor Who series? Must have!

Wikipedia wrote:Adams sent the script for the HHGG pilot radio programme to the Doctor Who production office in 1978, and was commissioned to write The Pirate Planet (see below). He had also previously attempted to submit a potential movie script, called "Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen," which later became his novel Life, the Universe and Everything (which in turn became the third Hitchhiker's Guide radio series). Adams then went on to serve as script editor on the show for its seventeenth season in 1979. Altogether, he wrote three Doctor Who serials starring Tom Baker as the Doctor:
The Pirate Planet (the second serial in the "Key To Time" arc, in Season 16)
City of Death (with producer Graham Williams, from an original storyline by writer David Fisher. It was transmitted under the pseudonym "David Agnew")
Shada (only partially filmed and not broadcast due to industrial disputes)
Those are older episodes from Classic Who, not Modern Who, so they could be potentially hard to find.
I believe clips from Shada made it into the Five Doctors episode.

I really ought to be more patient when I click the submit button, the above makes the 4th accidental double post I've done.

Anywho, I am extremely excited for this series finale to find out how Moffat plans to climb out of the huge confusions he has written in this series, 'cause I have to admit this series was the most complex one that I have ever seen.

Yes, yes it does, though this is a DOCTOR WHO thread you know?

But whilst we're off topic, I admit I have always liked Rowan Atkinsons comedies.
