If they really did do that I think they should do also have a Fan's Collectors Edition with relevant content from past games.

Re: Rayman 2
I agree. I hope it's just a rumor or bullshit statement, because I am getting sick of Ubisoft porting R2 to every single console they can think of. I mean, I love R2 and all, but I think they should give R3 some more love. Ubisoft should make an HD version of R3 (besides, they did HD versions of Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, so why not Rayman 3?), and make a PSVita port of it too. Or, have the PS3 version of the HD R3 have that "Transfarring" capability that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is going to have (in which you can put MGS2 and 3 on your Vita and play them on there), but use it to play R3 on your Vita.RayTunes wrote:Why would we want this anyway? So, I saw that Rayman Revolution can be bought here; http://www.bol.com/nl/p/games/rayman-2- ... index.html (which surprises me, because I wouldn't think it was for sale anymore)
Unfortunatly then I realize my playstation 3 won't (at least it shouldn't be able to) play PS2 games... But it has this memory card for PS2...what the prick is it doing out there, and what does it exactly do?
So, risk € 15,- to find out if this weirdo console will run it?

If it has a Playstation 2 memory card section, it might be the model that runs them.Spanex wrote:So, I saw that Rayman Revolution can be bought here; http://www.bol.com/nl/p/games/rayman-2- ... index.html (which surprises me, because I wouldn't think it was for sale anymore)

Do you know which model it is? How many GB of memory did it have when you bought it? Chunky model or the newer slim model?

Re: Rayman 2
I read in IGN that some PS2 games are going to be released in PSN, so I believe it is for that.
It would be nice starting to release PS2 games for PSN, soon the PS2 console will officially be discontinued.

Re: Rayman 2
Old PS3s (like mine) can play PS2 games. New ones can’t. The internal memory card facility is still there in yours because all PS3s use the same system software.Spanex wrote:Unfortunatly then I realize my playstation 3 won't (at least it shouldn't be able to) play PS2 games... It's a slim model, 160 gigas. Bought it about a month ago.Gagaman wrote: Do you know which model it is? How many GB of memory did it have when you bought it? Chunky model or the newer slim model?
Let me check what it says exactly...
Game > Memory Card Utility > Internal Memory Card [PS2]
There's also one for the Playstation1.
So you're saying it's just there for no good reason?spiraldoor wrote:Old PS3s (like mine) can play PS2 games. New ones can’t. The internal memory card facility is still there in yours because all PS3s use the same system software.
I just looked around and there are rumors going on that Sony is developing a software update so that all PS3s can run the PS2 ones. Then again the word 'rumor' always kills my hopes.
Re: Rayman 2
Most likely never going to put the PS2 compatibility back in, they recently just announced PS2 games coming to the Playstation Store in some fashion and they have been doing lots of PS2 collections/HD ports the last couple years with more on the way. They would rather just make you rebuy the games again, but at least in many cases they are improving on the PS2 versions with the ports. Not sure if the PS2 games being released ion the store will be ports or emulated yet.
Re: Rayman 2
It would really suck hard for me if they put Rayman Revolution in the PSN store. I don't even own a credit card.
I just can't believe that these new models can't just run the older games. I'd have to see it with my own eyes to believe it...but I bet my PS3 is no exception and I'd only be left with disappointment and €15 gone to waste.

Re: Rayman 2
You don't need to use a credit card when you can instead buy a pre-paid PSN card with certain amounts. It's kinda similar to buying and redeeming Wii points though you may end up with a spare bluray case if they haven't introduced single cards without cases in Netherlands already.
Re: Rayman 2
Will have to look into those then. Thanks for telling me.
Re: Rayman 2
There aren't PSN pre-paid cards?
I can't wait to buy my PS3 by the way, it will probably happen in 2 or 3 weeks.

Re: Rayman 2
Well here's an example of what I mean, the boxed one.
http://tinyurl.com/6dg7zud
They only just introduced single cards with say £10 or so in GAME shops mind.

Re: Rayman 2
They could have a bigger variety of cards, like 10€ for example.
Re: Rayman 2
Interesting. I'll need to see if there's any store here in the neighborhood that sells them though. I'm don't like buying stuff right off the internet unless I can really trust it and have good experiences with it, such as that site I mentioned earlier that's selling Rayman Revolution. I also bought my PS3 and Tornado Outbreak from the very same site. It's mostly about electronics though, so I don't think it sells prepaid cards.

Okay holy shit.

Re: Rayman 2
If you own a powerful computer, you can play RR in an emulator. The FPS is the only thing it isn't perfect yet.
Re: Rayman 2
Sure. Can you link me?
Re: Rayman 2
Google for PCSX2.
You'll find it for sure, but you need to google for the BIOS aswell.
