Re: Rayman Origins
I know this is going to be off-topic from what we're discussing right now, but anyway, I'd like to share my thoughts on Origins:
Rayman Origins looks fucking awesome so far. I'm glad to see Rayman return to platforming (I mean, I have nothing against the Rabbids, but they should have never gotten involved with Rayman if you ask me), and it looks like a very fun game. I love the whole concept of the game showing his origins, how he came to be, and how he evolves from a perverted idiot to the hero he is now. (speaking of which, I'm fucking SICK of people complaining about Rayman looking up Betilla's dress in the first trailer. So fucking what if he looked up her dress? Besides, keep in mind that this is Rayman ORIGINS. It takes place when he was first born, and shows that he begins acting idiotic and perverted, but then grows up and matures. Plus, I think it's a pretty funny idea how he begins acting this way.) The game will be a blast with 4 players, and it'll be fun playing the game with my friends. I also really like the wacky and crazy artstyle, and the sprites are very beautifully animated.
However, it seems a lot of people have been passing it off as a reboot all because of the presence of Globox, Betilla having limbs, and Rayman having his 2003-now design. Honestly, you can tell Rayman has known Globox long before the events of Rayman 2, plus, notice that he's happy to see Globox again at the beginning of R2, implying that they've known each other for a while. And as for Betilla having limbs and Rayman having his 2003-now design, I highly doubt Ubisoft considers redesigns as canon. I mean, it's not like the Sonic series how redesigns are considered canon (according to Sonic Generations).
Anyway, I think it looks like a great game, and I'll definitely be picking it up for PS3 and PSVita (once the Vita is released). I cannot wait for November.

Same here. That guy’s ‘Globox before R1 = reboot!’ logic is maddening.Master4lyf1 wrote:Heh, I remembering arguing against reboot with a guy on youtube.

Re: Rayman Origins
You guys take youtube too seriously. I mean, some neo-nazi guy said he's gonna stick me in an oven and do something to my mom with a gun. Where would I be if I reacted like you are reacting?

Anyone more than I who's gonna pick this up on the 3DS? I think it'll be awesome, because the game's background has many layers and all that stuff!

Dude made a video on it being a retcon, so, I felt it was right to...rectify the issue.iambored2006 wrote:You guys take youtube too seriously. I mean, some neo-nazi guy said he's gonna stick me in an oven and do something to my mom with a gun. Where would I be if I reacted like you are reacting?
Obviously I'd just "thumbs down" the idiot who said that.

I meant, the regular Tuesday and Friday DB schedule, a trailer with Wii gameplay, and a single demo for all 3 of the home consoles.Greenbottle3 wrote:I'd like Daily bubbles, at least one new trailer, and hopefully some demos.
Re: Rayman Origins
A downloadable demo of Rayman Origins in the HD consoles would be nice!

It's a shame I don't have a capture device, then I could have shared Origins gameplay, still, I guess you are better than me at that thing!Haruka wrote:A downloadable demo of Rayman Origins in the HD consoles would be nice!

Re: Rayman Origins
I'd like a demo on WiiWare as well. I only have a Wii.

Re: Rayman Origins
WiiWare demos are only for wiiware games. And as you know, Rayman Origins won't be downloadable anymore.Greenbottle3 wrote:I'd like a demo on WiiWare as well. I only have a Wii.
And yeah, the pc version would be a great announcement too.
Re: Rayman Origins
That's the only thing which has bothered me, the design of Rayman. If this is supposed to be a prequel to the first game, then he should look like he did in the first game.MetalGearChick wrote:However, it seems a lot of people have been passing it off as a reboot all because of the presence of Globox, Betilla having limbs, and Rayman having his 2003-now design. Sadly I don't think we'll ever see this design again, which is a shame: storage/8029/a43021717f23a98beb13d8a470e15beb
Although I don't think the difference is enormous. He just looks smaller and less 'rounded' in shape.
Re: Rayman Origins
Or at least inside the Rayman 2 style. But that detail isn't a big matter for me, as long the game corresponds to my expectations.

Re: Rayman Origins
Personally I prefer the third rayman design XD I dunno why, maybe the haircut?
Re: Rayman Origins
Anything which reminds me of the first game is always going to be good. I'm a sucker for nostalgia. This is why I'm loving the look of Origins so much, it's just how I imagine Rayman 1 would have looked if it was made in 2011.

Re: Rayman Origins
If ubisoft is really going to release Ubiart Framework for everyone, then I'm going to do a remake of rayman 1 with the rayman origins style and gameplay, I swear it.
