I swear to Jupiter.... :pfff:

Hey, I added a new character to the list, Andrew (who I'm voicing). I've also decided that all the different kinds of "armoured enemies" from the Rayman 2 beta will be the Graveslaves (Dark Rayman's army; read the OP) in this game, and I'll try as hard as I can to achieve the exact look. Maybe even you could give it a try Spanex? :) Haruka, you might especially be interested in the much expanded on role of Betilla. Read some updated character infos:
  • Betilla the Fairy - She was like a mother to Rayman in his childhood years, keeping him protected from harm. When it was time for Rayman the chosen one, to go up on a journey to put a stop to Mister Dark's villainy, she aided him wherever she could, creating the right spells that would grant Rayman amazing powers. Now she is the caretaker of the young'uns, as well as healer of those wounded in battle. She also has the power to speak with the spiritual forms, the unseen entities, the lumz of energy that make up our living beings, therefore providing to her the useful ability to communicate with the undead souls inside the Graveslaves (Dark Rayman's minions).
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • The Magician - The mysterious narrator who appears only where he needs to be. Unfortunately, the new reign of terror has caused him to be up day and night, strategizing battle tactics, formations and whatnots to fend off Dark Rayman's invasion. He rings up his cousin Andrew to help him. After his cousin takes the place of the strategist, he leads the fight, as both a commander and a skilled warrior.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Andrew - Cousin of the Magician, Andrew leaves his Foreign home to aid his nephew in fending off Dark Rayman's invasion. Unlike the Magician, Andrew has a strong British accent. He takes over for the Magician in the strategic planning field.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Okay, here it REALLY is.

I'm not satisfied with the result just yet however. Them cheeks are too fat(?), and I want them to go up more. But it's difficult when everything else is already in place. I'm also meh-ing about the eyes. Too much Rayman 3, and not enough Rayman 2 in the face.

And I can't figure out how to make a stupid shape fill itself with a color!

Wow, Brilliant! :) your mush is most likely much cleaner than mine. Mine's been re-worked so many times, I may just plain decide to use yours when I see your final result.

About a week ago I formulated an idea with someone on DeviantART which I will now share.:

The idea was that every so often, possibly after every boss fight at the end of a level, it breaks from Rayman's journey and updates you on what's happening in and around the Dream Forest. These snippets will feature gameplay about the length of one third of a normal level, and you control a different character each time, including Raven and the Magician. These events will tell the story of the ongoing war between Dark Rayman's army and the Valley's, but the Valley's army slowly becomes outnumbered.

The last "break away" happens while inside the Temporal Palace. Because Rayman is inside the Temporal Palace, he can see all the happens in the world, and a breakaway commences in second person view - through Rayman's eyes. You again control other characters from the Dream Forest, but Dark Rayman's army conquers the Dream Forest and all of Rayman's friends are slaughtered (obviously in an E 10+ way, as that's what I'm planning the game to be rated).

After the breakaway finshes, it shows Rayman with shock on his face that quickly turns into dismal angst. Utterly depressed and in shock, you control him as he walks through the palace, with no sound or music in the air except tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock.... This is the concept art scene called "telling time" (which does not correspond with the music track, as there is no music here). If you wish to see it, go to my DeviantART page of the same name.

Read the level description on the first page and then the character profile for "Rhook." Now: when Rhook flies you to the present time, it means he flies you back to the exact moment you entered, so that means the tragedy never happened, providing you with a second chance, this time with full knowledge.

That sounds very interesting. Luckily the player can stop the carnage.

Yeh, Rhook's a pretty cool guy. He controls time and doesn't afraid of time. Thanks you three! I really have a good feeling about it. :) Speaking of which, soundtrack part 18 suddenly pops out of nowhere; the last track is what plays during the "break away" in the Temporal Palace. You may notice the irony in the title.

Whaddaya know, I have even more tracks in this one than part 17! This now ties for first place in most number of tracks in a soundtrack part, tying with 1 and 2.

Yes the Penumbra Ocean is an underwater level. Yippee! (If you guys have time, can you post a little bit of thought on each of the tracks?)

1. "Picture City: Suburban Ambience" - 0:00
2. "Prison Ship: The Sneak (redux)" - 1:47
3. "Darklands: Flamegushers" - 3:22
4. " The Land of Unimportant Proportion: The Kingdom of Vectoria" - 4:42
5. "Penumbra Ocean: Marine Frontier" - 5:45
6. "Penumbra Ocean: Skirmish of the Deep Blue" - 7:26
7. "Penumbra Ocean: The Reef" - 10:13
8. "Temporal Palace: Un-peccable Timing, sir" - 11:22

I can't listen to music here. I'm at school and there's no sound boxes, and I refuse to wear the headphones here. ¬-¬; You'd understand if you see how 'earwaxy' they are.

Anyways, while I'm here, I can make a texture file for the twin moons. Quarters and halves will be made too. Just for the convenience.

Sounds great. :)

Actually yes I do know what you mean, my old school had the same headphone problem. Why on earth do they use ones that go in you ear? It's neither safe nor healthy.

Anyway, I eagerly await your response for when you're home from school; I'm curious how Spanex will interpret it.

I can't help but ask again, have you tried those leaf textures yet?

Crud, I keep forgetting. I'll make sure I do it tomorrow! I'll even remind myself via alarm, and that'll make two things to alarm for tomorrow. The other being that I need to remember to bring my Italian opera book to my voice lessons.

The flat textures so far are simple enough, but I haven't done one that wraps around an object before. Are they really as hard as they seem?

It honestly depends. I didn't have a hard time wrapping Rayman, but I haven't actually used a wrapping technique on anything else.
