It's not legalised, it's just not entirely forbidden.
but they don't sell it in the stores anymore because apple sued samsung (and is going to sue every store that still sells 'em)
Marihuana?
You cannut spell for the life of you.

Yes, I think you're right. The shorter girls at the school connected to mine always wear very revealing clothes, as much as the religious school lets them. I just can't understand why someone would want to wear something which doesn't cover their knee! Also, they always wear skirts (trousers aren't allowed) and when they sit in a certain pose, KABOOI!!!

About the mirhuana/marijuana thing, I quote Wikipedia:
(sometimes spelled "marihuana")
However, when I searched 'marihuana' in google, it asked me if I meant 'marijuana', and my speller says it's wrong.

Yes. Oh my god, yes. This is something I gotta try someday. Maybe in India, or in Holland, or hopefully in a drug-legalizing Israel.

That doesn't cover their knee? Have you ever seen mainstream North American society? On this side of the planet it's normal for guys and girl's shorts/skirts/dresses to end at the knee or above. The sluttier girls' jeans are cut so short that they basically have no pant legs. In America it's even worse (I go there often since I live about a half-hour drive from the border).

I know. I don't care if they wear these skirts. It looks pretty, and as a teenager, I'm obviously completely for it. I just have two problems: I can't understand why they themselves would enjoy wearing such a skirt, and I can't understand why these revealing skirts are allowed while jeggings, for example, are forbidden.

You need to start doing some basic fact-checking before you accuse people of spelling things wrong.

Google only made that suggestion because ‘marijuana’ is a more common spelling – it does that all the time. As for your speller, it’s simply wrong; you can’t rely on such things for definitive answers.

NORWAY.
This has already been mentioned, but both marijuana and marihuana are correct spellings.

And yes, I know the video isn't 100% appropriate because I didn't actually "tell ya so". Still, I think I'm entitled to a victory dance.

The next time you decide to act like an arrogant asshole, at least make sure that you're right.

Arrogant asshole, really? How did this even turn into such a big topic of discussion? I even mentioned in my second post that I might be wrong. I don't see how this little dispute gave you the initiative to classify me as an "arrogant asshole." I'm not the one with the "I told you so" dance. :|

There are very few things that make you come across as more dickish than correcting people's grammar or spelling.

Come on Tobbe, it might be the second time you've associated "asshole" onto RayFan, and she clearly isn't one at all. :tssk:
A true "arrogant asshole" would also have to go on excessive lengths with his/her ego or pseudo-fact opinions to deserve such title.
It's a lot more sober to disprove arguments without calling names.

Of course not, but that doesn't change the fact that correcting my spelling the way she did was an extremely arrogant and dickish thing to do, especially since she was wrong.

In general, I do have to agree. But even though she was unaware of the alternative ways of spelling, despite of not doing some proper checking, she didn't state the correction definitely. The intent was not to provoke you, which one would think by misinterpreting her remarks.

I should have looked it up prior to posting, so I'm sorry for that. But as for the other reference to the word, that was silly me over a year ago and I'm nothing like what I was back then, though I do find that to be a humorous coincidence that Patrick remembers him saying that.

True, but it depends on the context. I thought it was clear by the way I was posting that I wasn't trying to break you down, that it was more a light "heehee" sort of thing. This is what a dick-post would look like:

Okay, thanks. Similar situation, though.

I don't care about her intentions. I was deeply provoked by what I perceived to be a derogatory remark, which I don't take lightly.

Correcting spelling in a light "heehee" sort of way can still be insulting. There are of course certain situations in which you can point out people's linguistic errors, but you have to thread very carefully, so you most oftenly shouldn't do it.

Now onto lighter matters. :)

Hmm. I myself have a certificate that says I'm the second best speller in Jerusalem, so I think I'm entitled to the privilege of correcting people's grammar or spelling without having to suffer the misfortune of being called an 'arrogant asshole'. Am I qualified to be such a dick, or should I keep to myself with that noble of occupations?

About the certificate, I was in a spelling bee competing withe the best english speakers in Jerusalem, most of whom were Americans (I'm the best at my class, BTW, and I'm absolutely not American, unlike everyone else). I was competing against someone else for the first prize, and I totally blew it with the most idiot mistake of the century: preferabble. I was completely sure there was a double letter somewhere in the word, and I was very nervous, so what you see before you is my most embarrassing spelling mistake ever. Also, the judges weren't really fare. We were in the last round, and I was the first one to be asked in that round, and I was mistaken. According to the rules, of which I still have a copy, the other guy should have been asked too, and should he have failed at spelling the word 'preferable', we would have been given a second chance, as equals. The judges were simply impatient dicks, so I lost to someone who doesn't know how to put two english words in a sentence without them being 'i dog'.

How do you know that all the best spellers in Jerusalem took part in the competition?

I'm kidding, I'm kidding. But I do know that all the schools in Jerusalem participated. I also know that I initially didn't want to go, because of my fear of these situations (howzit called in english?). In hebrew it's called stage fear. So maybe another kid also didn't want to go and he actually didn't.

Close, it's called "stage fright" in English.
