And here's a mesh view.

Well detail wise, I've been working on mine a lot longer so I basically know what Rayman looks like inside-out. Though I can't stress enough how smexy your neckerchief is.

Blender is pure evil compared to 3ds Max. 3ds Max is now free, so blender users are at a fault.Danone wrote:Nice job

Re: Rayman 1.5: Revenge of the Dark
I'll never got a good project with Blender, is very hard to use
Re: Rayman 1.5: Revenge of the Dark
I was on my NintyDS so I couldn't see what you changed about the face exactly. Yeah, it's much more like R2 now. I'd like to see how you'll give it a texture.
In mesh, mine looks so ridiculously simple.. D: Wow.
My model has much more of the R3 face. It's probably because I've grown to that style the most.

What's NintyDS? I hear it but I don't know what it is. :/Spanex wrote:I was on my NintyDS so I couldn't see what you changed about the face exactly. Yeah, it's much more like R2 now. I'd like to see how you'll give it a texture.

Also yeah, the R3 model is a little more boxy if you know what I mean.
And here's some random crap that shouldn't be in the Dream Forest:

Yeah, I do understand what you mean about the R3 model. Always felt that it makes him a bit stiff, I think it also adds more seriousness... Well, every model has it's ups and downs like that.
I would hope to blend the good features of each together. How? I'm not sure yet, but I'll find a way.
Edit: LOLthosepencils!

It's still your own opinion.RayFan9876 wrote:Blender is pure evil compared to 3ds Max. 3ds Max is now free, so blender users are at a fault.
They also revamped the interface of Blender since version 2.5 here in 2011, so it's way more intuitive to use today, despite that every 3D modelling software still have different learning curves. A former classmate of mine, the same year, became quite skilled at it, pretty quickly. I saw some of his progress, and it looked to be an quite easy workflow to me. You just have to know some few hotkeys in order to be effective. Blender is going to my tool of choice, when I soon want to begin with serious 3D modelling. And instead of 3Ds Max, I would rather want to use Maya, made by Autodesk as well, which also have cross-platform support. For sculpting, I'm going to use Z-brush.
Btw. nice pencils.

Yeah, I have an unsaid bias against Blender.PowerPatrick wrote:It's still your own opinion.RayFan9876 wrote:Blender is pure evil compared to 3ds Max. 3ds Max is now free, so blender users are at a fault.

And thanks. Here's two more quick pics:

I know there's a lot of bloom in this one, but I'll fix that later:

Re: Rayman 1.5: Revenge of the Dark
I'm doing Moskito's mouth like this:

Because even though I like the RO style, Ithink this is more fitting for the game.

Re: Rayman 1.5: Revenge of the Dark
I still didn't finish to read a book that explains a bit of Blender, and I admit the user interface isn't quite friendly. If it was easier to use...

The student version is.
But I can't find any good tutorials or explanations on how to put a texture onto an object. Arrgh
