Don’t you have AdBlock Plus or some equivalent? I don’t understand why anyone would want to ignore someone’s posts completely – I wouldn’t be comfortable reading threads and not seeing what was being said by the people I didn’t like.

Spiral is right, Adblock Plus is a quite useful Firefox add-on. I use it to remove annoying publicities like "Throw 3 bullets to win an iPhone" and random chatrooms.

Yes I do, even with a lot of browser debugging tools. And that would also be my normal reaction to use them for this. But considering this user barely contributes anything useful at all, and might intentionally annoy us, the ignorelist is the easiest and widely-applied solution.
