Re: Off Topic
Well this is exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not being mean, I'm joking, as are many people around you. You're offended so easily that you can't seem to understand anyone's sense of humor. Spiral made a joke to do with the way you used present tense in your post. Why would that offend you? He has no reason to offend you and he didn't, yet you took a light joke it offensively. In relation to my post, I was only expressing my PC elitism in the form of a joke. It may be slightly annoying to some, but it can't be considered mean, especially since I already said it was my own view on the subject (and I was still evidently joking. I'm not that blind).
In short: You're offended much too easily. So much so that it's hard to talk to you without you taking it the wrong way. I have nothing against you, I'm just giving you a little bit of constructive criticism.

Re: Off Topic
I'm grateful for that, but I wasn't offended in the least. In fact, I said in that post in the RO topic in response to spiral's joke that this was the only time I was offended in this forum, and even that was something I laughed about. I may have misunderstood spiral in this discussion, but my response to your... laugh, let's say, was just as light hearted as the 'laugh' itself. It could be that you think I'm offended simply because I seldom use emoticons. I'm just not used to the concept.RayFan9876 wrote:Well this is exactly what I'm talking about. Rats! That thing happened where one person says something but it momentarily applies to themself... and I mean me.iambored2006 wrote:I'm grateful for that, but I wasn't offended in the least. I think it's sometimes because some people say things as if they weren't joking, making it hard to tell if they're being serious or not until you know the person more. Take Spiral for instance: I used to always think he was being serious, but after a long time - only recently - I could distinguish his humor.

Hmm. It's hard to express what I felt when I read this. I think this'll do nicely:RayFan9876 wrote:Rats! That thing happened where one person says something but it momentarily applies to themself... and I mean me.

I'd take that as a joke if it were said to me, so I don't follow your point. Why would I be mean to you? I have no reason to be mean to anybody, you should know that. I'm sorry if it came across like that, it wasn't my intention, but it's not something I'm willingly going to change.

You're doing the exact same thing you did before and talked about... again! You're talking about me being offended, but you're actually offended yourself. I know you're weren't trying to be mean, I was joking! I'll edit my post so that you can better understand me.RayFan9876 wrote:I'd take that as a joke if it were said to me, so I don't follow your point. Why would I be mean to you? Here's an example of the same situation without the 'offended' part (at least, it's not relevant):
Incidentally, spiral did take this one seriously, as there's some tension between Sergio and him. Sergio needed to tell him he was horsing around. My point is... I'm tired. Good night.sergiomonty wrote:LOL spiraldoor, sometimes you are soooooooooo mean. Particullary with the "polite" terms.

Oh dear, I think we should let this one drop before it goes in a loop again. Have a good night!

Why do you even have to ask?iambored2006 wrote:I'm currently reinstalling Mac OS X on my broken computer. It's just me and my iPod now. Anyone know anything about the new Macs? I can't stand the idea of converting to Windows.

What, are you suggesting I check their website? I'm asking because if there are some other Mac enthusiasts here who know more about the subject from outside of the website itself, maybe they could share some tips. I'm thinking about buying a Mac Pro...neo wrote:Why do you even have to ask?iambored2006 wrote:I'm currently reinstalling Mac OS X on my broken computer. It's just me and my iPod now. If you're talking laptops then yes, I think Macs are the way to go. The only thing better than a Macbook Pro is the new Macbook Air, though it's expensive as hell.iambored2006 wrote:What, are you suggesting I check their website? I can't believe anyone is so terribly uninformed to buy a Mac Pro, which is not a laptop.iambored2006 wrote:I'm thinking about buying a Mac Pro...

@PowerPatrick
Ah, that settles it, then. But you made a few mistakes: a PC cannot become a Mac, and the pricing seems a bit off. Other than that, great job. (did you do this?)

That facepalm is brilliant. it has ©RayFan9876 written all over it.
On a side-note, I have the same keyboard that's in the PC image.
Correction: A PC cannot become a Mac unless it uses the correct hardware, which this setup does. However through the miracles of Hackintosh the hardware limitation is greatly loosened. The pricing is also correct.iambored2006 wrote:@PowerPatrick

RayFan is absolutely correct. Just visit: http://osx86project.org
And one proof the price was for real (even though this is another version of the model):

Re: Off Topic
DAMN! But wait, that's the 12 cores Mac. In the comparison, you used the 8 cores mac with the pricing of the 12 cores one.

Nonetheless, the cost of four extra cores does not amount to $5000.iambored2006 wrote:DAMN! But wait, that's the 12 cores Mac. In the comparison, you used the 8 cores mac with the pricing of the 12 cores one.

Sorry, I edited the link. Accidentally wrote .com instead of .orgRayFan9876 wrote:Erm... is that a real site? It lead me to a fake search site.
Again, this is another version. Remember that these aren't 8 or 12 physical cores, but threads, that includes double amount of virtual cores, respectively. They no longer sell the same Xeon processors that included 8 threads at 2.66 GHz. Before, the same kind of processors was a lot more expensive.iambored2006 wrote:DAMN! I am on my netbook, and still in school following the lesson, so my focus is a bit off.

Re: Off Topic
I just saw an American Dad episode and it had a holocaust joke in it. I really don't care. I mean, it's not that bad. But I cried when I heard it. That's exactly the same thing a lot of people I know heard when they were kids. What bugs me is that other people might be laughing when they see it. I need to lie down. BTW, the episode is Rough Trade.

Re: Off Topic
The big problem with Holocaust jokes is that there is no clear definition of a Holocaust joke, so directors kinda does not know what to avoid. On the other hand, definition could be worse.
