Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
All we need now is the music. I've been dying to have it in my collection.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
It's not a fail console at all, the music just isn't there because the emulator was bad, or he turned it off. The sounds also sound far better on a real Jaguar.RayTunes wrote:I'm surprised this game was ever released on such a fail console.
Gonna try the new version out now.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
The 64 bit was bad, some games looked similar to 16 bit, mediocre games. Not for me.

I can say that the game runs smoothly in my laptop that has got Windows 7, while in my desktop PC that has got Windows XP, it runs a bit slower.

From previous videos that came directly from Jaguar consoles, I can tell you it does have music. I believe this guy was playing in an emulator.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
If a walkthrough of this version is needed urgently, anyone can feel free to record it. I personally can't at this moment.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
Virtual Jaguar's sound still doesn't work that well for me. Damn, I was hoping it'd be good enough for me to be able to record the music.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
For some reason the game runs slower under Windows XP, while in my Windows 7 laptop doesn't.Drolpiraat wrote:Virtual Jaguar's sound still doesn't work that well for me. Damn, I was hoping it'd be good enough for me to be able to record the music.
What the hell...
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
I'm in Windows 7, and the game itself runs fine, but the sound is slow and out of tune.Haruka wrote:For some reason the game runs slower under Windows XP, while in my Windows 7 laptop doesn't.Drolpiraat wrote:Virtual Jaguar's sound still doesn't work that well for me. Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
In my laptop, the sound was syncronized.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
Perhaps Vista?

I uploaded a video:
The Swamps of Forgetfulness seem to have been originally named "Forgotten Swamps."

Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
I should have pretended it was new to spare you the shame of this fake discovery.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
I've played now the Dream Forest in the Atari Jaguar version and I'm amazed by noticing some significant differences in this version.
Like:
- Rayman's crawling animation is different. He also does not have the "speed" animation when he is falling quick from a plum
- The Tentakel seems to be defeatable
- The Antitoons helicopter is yellow-coloured
- The Moskito's colours are slightly different (and he appears to be more resistant and quicker than in all the other versions)
- The last part of the Anguish Lagoon is very different (the famous shooting part)
- Some level objects are slightly changed to other locations
- Some objects appear in places that don't appear in other versions
- It appears that the cages locations slightly mix the PS1 and PC versions
- Rayman's controls seem more inaccurate, and this makes the game harder
- Some objects behave a little differently than in the other versions (for example: the small water lilies fall immediately while in the other versions there's a second of delay before falling)
- Some enemies behave differently than in the other versions (like for example: The Hunters being more vulnerable here)
- Rayman loses the Speed Fist or the Golden Fist everytime he gets hit
- When Rayman dies, he loses all his Tings
- Betilla's dialogues are a little different than in the other versions
- There are some background changes, like the background where Rayman gets the Grappling Power.

At least Moskito did his first appearance with the colours of his battle in the nest. This definitely prooves that the fact that Moskito appears with Bzzit's colours in the pursuit with the big dry fruit in all the other versions is a colouring error.
