This Michel Ancel.
Ubisoft still hasn't got the trailer in their channel, they'll probably upload this tomorrow.

Re: Rayman Origins
I like it how Michel mirrors the god of his own world, could the Bubble Dreamer be a way of putting Ancel in his own world by making a character like him?

Re: Rayman Origins
The new trailer is pretty fun to watch. True, I said I wouldn't watch them, but since everyone was talking about Ancel being awesome I just had to. And I admit, I did laugh at his actions. The rest of it was pretty neat too.

Re: Rayman Origins
Wha? They released the Collector's Edition in the US? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME??? I wonder if they'll have it at the Gamestop in town. I bet they will, since most of the people in my town (or at least school) don't know who Rayman is (or they only know him as "that weird guy who plays the mini-games with the funny rabbits"), so hopefully I can get my hands on it.beebo44 wrote:About 5 days ago I sent an e-mail to Gamestop Uk and Gamestop US. Gamestop UK was completely useless, and it seems Gamestop US sold out of Rayman Origins Collector's Edition a while ago. Looks like I'm doomed to pay the outrageous price that Australia forces me to...

Re: Rayman Origins
I'm back from the press opening of the Paris Games Week, in which I represented Pirate-Community.
I was able to play Rayman Origins, watch the presentation of the game, and talk to Michel Ancel and Wuigi.
As concerns the game (spoilers follow), I've been able to play levels from most of the ten worlds. There seems to be Electoon bridges in all of them, as well as Moskito levels that act as a transition between them (for example there's also one that leads from the desert to the food world). The controls are great, even though it's definitely messy when there are three or four players on screen. More players are, on the other hand, some kind of an advantage as the levels appear to be the same regardless of their number. I'm almost sure Globox is significantly slower than Rayman, who also seems to jump higher; I haven't tried the Teensies. The Land of the Livid Dead is most likely the same place as in Rayman 3, as even the French name (la Lande aux Esprits Frappés), which has quite a different meaning, is the same. I haven't been able to play it though. There's a total of 246 cages in the game. During the presentation, we were shown an unseen level (Révélation) from the world above Mystic Peak (the one with the robots), where the Mr Dark-like Teensie traps the characters into fighting the mechanical daisy, immediately followed by its bird counterpart (the daisy and the bird being previous bosses). Last but not least, I spotted a Bad Rayman on the staff's T-shirts, so I guess he will be present in some way in Origins (most likely as a skin for Rayman).
The talk with Michel Ancel was really brief (I still had time to invite him to PC though
) but I had more time to talk to Wuigi about the interview, and we'll hopefully get it before the American release of the game. He's currently doing his best splitting the parts between the different members of the team, Michel Ancel included. It may be taking some time, but trust me, this is one hell of an interview and Wuigi is doing a great job.
Don't hesitate if you have any questions! I'm invited to represent Pirate-Community for the whole show (which lasts until October 25), so I may even be able to check things I haven't paid attention to. That is, if I have time to go again!

Re: Rayman Origins
If I am able to convince my sister, I may well be on my way to pre-ordering Rayman Origins Collector's edition!
if I don't succeed I'll keep trying. If I have to I'll make deals, like promising not to buy any games for a whole 6 months, or even a year if needed. Or promising not to go on the computer as much. (I'm a computer-holic.) Or saying it could be my Chrissie present. (This is my last resort because I'm the one paying for it, not them.
). but this is all if my regular tricks don't work, and a week's worth of please attacks don't work. trust me, I can be very persuasive!
