Any chance of a link to this ROM site please? (via PM if forum rules don't allow you to post it publicly)

My point with the hair thing was that maybe they could make some sort of universal 'rule' that his hair must be split the way it is, since he needs it for the helicopter power to work.

Okay I looked, temptation was too much for me.

Are you guys absolutely SURE this is official? Because....this is bad. I don't care what anybody says, yes it's cool, I will probably be able to get epic fics out of it, but....to Milly, this is a BAD IDEA. SO VERY BAAAADDDDD

Not to mention if Luckster plays this game she's probably going to cry. xD

Well they've already contradicted the first and second games with his hair in Origins, so....
Let’s say I have the same hairstyle now that I had five years ago. What if I had a different hairstyle during the five intervening years? Does that mean those five years are a continuity error, and that the last five years of my life were non-canonical?
Well it's not a hairstyle, because as you can clearly see Rayman has skin over his "hair," as it blends right into his head - they seem like a sort of membrane. I doubt he could completely redesign his hair as such. the transition from 2-3 was acceptable since it's just a character redesign, but from Origins, then 1 and 2 in between, THEN 3, it just seems kind of odd.

@Hunch:
I didn't mean the powers, I meant the hairstyle.

^ Check rayman from rayman 3

Image

Yeah, you're right, rayman seems to have the hair as part of the head itself, and that's weird. His face is orange...

Now check rayman from rayman origins

Image

What?! his hair, check it carefully. It looks like the hair is again separed from his skin. Rayman from Rayman origins is another re-design. It's similar to both rayman from rayman 2 and rayman from rayman 3.

Ok, now my thoughts about the spoilers:

Guys, it would make more chronological sense if actually the Magician wasn't Mr Dark but just a new bad guy. I mean, think about it:
-He was never confirmed to be Mr. Dark
-He doesn't even look like Mr. Dark
-Rayman at the end redeems him
I won't even ask about the dance, it's obviously a reference to Rayman 1 and how weird was that the bosses started dancing after being defeated. Also, a reference to Rayman 1 is that the final boss doesn't battle himself, but sends his minions (based on previously seen bosses) and then the battle ends awkwardly... shit D:

Haruka, i think you and me are the only two people on this thread that have resisted the temptation of reading the invisitext. Oh also, I may be securing myself a copy of Rayman origins Collector's Edition TODAY!! I'll get back to you on it once I've pre-ordered it.

@Louvis, I LURV your signature. That clip from wall-E is hilarious.

Since the snoring cutscene was confirmed as the intro, I just can't see this game as a prequel at all, I mean, it can totally be without any problem a "Rayman 4". There's nothing that stops this game from being a sequel, or just an alternative "Rayman 1" to make it fit with the different concept given in rayman 2. I don't know why did ubiart decide to scrap the "Long ago...the primordial forest" part. This game is just called "origins" for two reasons: Michel Ancel and to avoid the continuity with the rabbids, it's no longer explaining how rayman was born... or how he met globox, nothing! :S I mean, this game looks funny as hell, but it totally lost it's main purpose... unless ubiart's still hidding something that we'ven't seen that might explain some "origins".. :|

What are you talking about? There'll still be bits and pieces of Rayman's origins, you'll just need to work for them! As in, collect cages and you'll retrieve bits and pieces from bubble dreamer! I think it's fun this way, because you have to earn the right to discover the origins of these awesome characters.

Now, onto exciting news--
I'VE SECURED MYSELF A COPY OF RAYMAN ORIGINS COLLECTOR'S EDITION FOR PLAYSTATION 3!!! WWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone victory dance with me!!!

Uh? let me understand... if you collect the electoons, you're able to unlock cutscenes that explain the characters' origins or something like that? That would be just perfect, perhaps it's still not a prequel at all because... well, you know.... the spoiler thing...

(The Magician's absolutely non-chronological betrayal)

DON'T READ THAT, just believe me, the game doesn't work for me as a prequel.

Don't worry I won't read it. I'm staying spoiler-free!

And yes, I think that that's the general idea. Collect electoons and unlock origins of characters.

26 more days until i'll get my copy.

To get back to the ''Maybe their should be a live stream of Rayman Origins in stores?'' is probably ridiculous. I'm expecting no more then one or two copies to be gone.

Guys, in this one it can be seen more clearly one detail that the other video skipped (SPOILER, SORRY)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKovsN0CKro

(In this one at the end can be clearly seen that the magician just used the dance to distract the crew and then escapes. That only tells me that this is not the ending of the game, phew!!)

FUCK NO, now I'M that stupid filler fairy from Rayman Arena!!

I haven't laughed so hard at a gameplay vid in a long time.

Also, might have mentioned this before, but it's good to know that you can be a dick to your friends. Those are the best kind of games (i.e. Magicka).

Sorry, I thought you meant you had played the first level of Origins on a ROM site. Obviously I got the wrong end of the stick. Thanks anyway.
