I'm guessing it's because of the cake at the end of each chart at the beginnings of the levels. You know, the black forest cake which is referenced in the credits song.

I really don't know why people say Metallica's metal.

They played thrash metal in the 80's. The first three albums were good, but after that they started degrading into the mallcore crap that they are now.
