Good improvement Rayfan
Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
Oh snap, the video looks so like an actual Rayman game. That's... epic.

Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
Great job! It reminds me of a rayman 2 level.
Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
Indeed the graphics are based in Rayman 2

This is looking better and better!RayFan9876 wrote:HAW HAW I just got this.Spanex wrote:Good god... no more plum-based pot for you Rayman.
As offeeeer suggested, I made a new video. Here's a list of new things/fixes appearing in the video:
NEWS:FIXES:
- New swamp and platforming area
- Helicopter, diving, strafing, falling
- Fully-functioning plums
- Dynamic water ripples
- Pink and green plants from Rayman 1
- Basic animals (they won't be roosters for long)
- Bouncy mushrooms (I know they bounce way too fast, I'm working on that)
- Light Rays shining through the trees
- Test physical props
I know he jumps very unpredictably in height now, it's because I had to completely redo his physical profile to make it so he could move in the air. I'll try to fix it. Another thing, the new model and rig I've created, I won't implement that right now (due to character exporting troubles to CE3) because it's not exactly important. The only thing doing so will provide me with is a more detailed model, much more detailed animations and a physicalised bone system (such as Rayman being a Ragdoll).
- Moving while airborne/jumping now works, allowing for a full platforming experience
- Fixed problem where landing without rolling causes Rayman to snap back to a 0,0,0 orientation
- Fixed bug causing Rayman to move forward very slowly while standing still
- Rayman no longer gets stuck on edges
- Made improvements to the lighting scheme, now offering a wider range of hues when fading from light to dark
- General improvement the the whole fluidity of the platforming system
RayFan, will you do a pushing/pulling animations for the collision detection? I thought in this when watching you "pushing" the crates in the river.

Out of curiosity when you go underwater does it take you to Penumbra Ocean once you have beat the game?

Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
Close, I was going to have it so if you swim out to sea it activates the memory.R3fan2 wrote:Out of curiosity when you go underwater does it take you to Penumbra Ocean once you have beat the game?
Also, why the heck did the title of the thread lose its "(1.5)?" I'll put it back.

What do you mean by "Memory"?RayFan9876 wrote:Close, I was going to have it so if you swim out to sea it activates the memory.R3fan2 wrote:Out of curiosity when you go underwater does it take you to Penumbra Ocean once you have beat the game?

I didn't notice the 1.5 missing.

Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
The Memory Realm: In the Dream Forest there are places that resemble or make you think of another level. Rayman gains a power that allows him to travel teleport to any location he remembers, so walking into those areas allows you to access and play through the levels in Rayman's memory. This is how you revisit levels.beebo44 wrote:What do you mean by "Memory"?RayFan9876 wrote:Close, I was going to have it so if you swim out to sea it activates the memory.R3fan2 wrote:Out of curiosity when you go underwater does it take you to Penumbra Ocean once you have beat the game?

Re: Rayman: Revenge of the Dark
The (1.5) only seems to be missing in the post that you mentioned it. Didn't you remove it for a reason, anyway? Maybe you forgot? You even changed your signature for it.RayFan9876 wrote:Also, why the heck did the title of the thread lose its "(1.5)?" I'll put it back.
(Edit: I DID NOT REMOVE THAT ONE!)

That sounds way more epic than a menu with level select!RayFan9876 wrote:The Memory Realm: In the Dream Forest there are places that resemble or make you think of another level. Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
It slightly reminds me of Assassin's Creed's level menu where you choose to play an "ancestrial memory", but here, it's without the help of a machine. Does unlocking a "memory" require you to play through the level first, or does it require just going somewhere?

Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
I think you'll have to play the level first, and then later when you get back to the HUB you'll be able to remember these memories.

Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
Yup, this is how it works. Of course you wouldn't be able to remember a place you haven't visited... Uunless you're some sort of psycho prophet or had ancestors, which Rayman is/has neither.beebo44 wrote:I think you'll have to play the level first, and then later when you get back to the HUB you'll be able to remember these memories.
Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
I made a texture!

(excuse bad quality: preventive reasons)
I'm making a model for it right now.

Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
Wow, that's absolutely brilliant!
this will come in very, very handy. I'll apply the bark texture to the current trees (if it works properly).
Re: Rayman (1.5): Revenge of the Dark
I'll send you the hi-quality file once I get it to work on my own model.
