You spelled "dying" wrong.ikke471 wrote:oww wow... people dieing is never a good thing... my condolence!
It's also a matter of circumstance. Perhaps he was very old and/or dying. If that's the case then it was probably a good thing.

So dying naturally of old age should be prevented else it is bad?spiraldoor wrote:No, not really.RayFan9876 wrote:It's also a matter of circumstance. Perhaps he was very old and/or dying. If that's the case then it was probably a good thing.
Re: Off Topic
I would argue with that in a Spiral-esque fashion, but I don't have a Mr. Dark avatar so I'm not engaging in this.RayFan9876 wrote:So dying naturally of old age should be prevented else it is bad?spiraldoor wrote:No, not really.RayFan9876 wrote:It's also a matter of circumstance. Re: Off Topic
Personally, I wouldn't want to live forever if I get old. I don't know if I'd want if I stay the same age, like in Tuck Everlasting, and I don't think anyone knows. Also, he was about 60. But unless he was going to get over the Alzheimer, I guess it was a good thing.Rulez wrote:It's never a good thing to die. Re: Off Topic
I would actually like to live forever, or perhaps just a very long time. Why? I want to perfect my skills and knowledge continuously. I don't want age to get in the way of that. Thanks to stem cells we may live longer yet.

Re: Off Topic
But what purpose would your knowledge have if, the moment you know everything, you die and every bit of your consciousness disappears? I would like to learn a lot (not everything) and then enjoy that knowledge for a few years. Unfortunately, as I won't and couldn't live forever, I will not dedicate my life to learning as much as I can (though I can completely identify with people who do).RayFan9876 wrote:I would actually like to live forever, or perhaps just a very long time. Just as RayFan and Spiraldoor, I share the same opinions about eternal life.

@iambored:
The same question could be asked to someone who only lives to ten years old, thirty years old, or even 90.
@Pat:
I'll definitely take a look through that site, it sounds very interesting.

Yes, of course. Death should be postponed for as long as possible. I’d never want to die: being alive is far too interesting.RayFan9876 wrote:So dying naturally of old age should be prevented else it is bad?

Re: Off Topic
but being alive forever would not be very good either!
all people around you would die sooner or later!
I would like to die at some point if it continues like that..

Re: Off Topic
Again, that's why I'm not gonna dedicate my life to the search for knowledge. You guys should really read "Tuck Everlasting". It's an amazing book about eternal life. In fact, Tuck Everlasting and "Guliver's Travels" are the two books that made me think what I think of eternal life.RayFan9876 wrote:@iambored:

If you could live forever, presumably the people around you could also live forever via the same method.ikke471 wrote:but being alive forever would not be very good either!

And I don't want to think about death too much and spend my life best I can.

Re: Off Topic
The idea that I’d somehow end up as the one and only immortal in the world seems like a bit of a long shot, but even so, I’d rather be forever alone than dead.ikke471 wrote:true... but if you where the first and the others couldn't use the same method?spiraldoor wrote:If you could live forever, presumably the people around you could also live forever via the same method.
