I hope we're getting the gift basket next week. It would suck if we got the game late because of delivery...
Hunch guaranteed us that Ubisoft would send the prizes by the end of this week, so it means they'll send the stuff now tomorrow or in Friday. He also guaranteed us that the prizes would arrive days before the European release date. I've done the calculations, and my Gift Basket will arrive for sure somewhere next week between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. If they come in Wednesday morning, I'll have to go to the Mail Centre of my living area in the next morning to pick personally the crate.
Prizes? Gift baskets from Ubisoft?! I don’t understand…what are you getting them for? :hehe:

Small world, I'm in Ontario too. Not getting the CE though. Wasn't patient enough to save up for it.

But I am (STILL) waiting for the doofus on ebay to ship out my game. I hate warehouses sometimes.

OF ALL TIME???!? EVUR?!???

Well, it's not that I think the 3D non-overhead GTA games aren't fun, but they are much more serious and realistic, which I don't really think fits this kind of game as much as the crazier approach of SR. The SR games look more like sequels to GTA 2 than GTA 3 and IV do.

Question for the American members who already have the game. What’s the manual like? Is it bare-bones like most manuals today, or does it have some interesting information (backstory, character descriptions, level descriptions, etc)?

According to an older post on this forum, the manual describes Bettila as 'benevolent but badass' (or something to that effect). So I guess the manual does have some character descriptions in it. Couldn't tell you any more then that though, due to the whole 'not living in America thing' ;)

Those who’ve been following the spoilers should know why I’m so keen to find more information on the characters – [specifically Mr Dark and the Magician]. We’ll need all the clues we can get if we want to work out what the hell is going on.

This forum sure is quiet at the moment. Most of the European forumers (which take up the majority of this forum) have left to avoid accidental spoiler slips until they get to play, and most of the remainder of American users have stopped posting so that they can play the game :P.

Oh, and that Guardian mini-documentary was really interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing that with us Dango!

Welcomeness!

Also, I've found a couple of reviews that don't seem to be on Metacritic, which is a shame because they're both extremely positive:

Capsule Computers: http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/2011 ... ns-review/ - 9.5/10

Marooner's Rock: http://www.maroonersrock.com/2011/11/re ... igins-360/ - 100/100

I couldn't follow this topic in the past two weeks, so I'll ask again - was that Michel Ancel's interview posted?

In case it wasn't - will you post it on a different thread when it is ready for those who want to read it but can't follow this topic all the time?

Yeah, I wonder what the delay with the posting has been about (not meaning to sound impatient in any way, although it probably read like that)

Hey, US dweller here.

I Just finished this game last night.

I just wanted to let ya'll in the UK know that this game is just pure brilliance in every sense of the word. It's been quite a long time since I've played a PERFECT game. Every single inch of this game is just FLAWLESS.. from the visuals all the way down to the physics in game play. The game just keeps getting better and better as you get farther into the adventure.

I seriously haven't been this amazed by game play and presentation in a very long time.

Set your expectations WAY high guys and get ready for a WILD ride.

Considering the fact that all Rayman games are of high quality, and all of Michel Ancel's games are critically acclaimed, I would expect nothing less than "flawless"

Cephrien – just out of interest, what do you think happened at the end of the game (with the Teensy in Moody Clouds)? I haven’t been able to figure it out, but I think I may have confused myself by reading an earlier version of the game’s script. It might be interesting to hear what someone who isn’t a hardcore fan makes of it.

Well after you chase the Teensy (Who is actually Mr. Dark), through the collapsing metal fortress/factory or whatever, he boards a flying ship with some Lividstones and tries to make a getaway. Rayman, with the help of Bzzit, gives pursuit, eventually chasing Mr. Dark's flying ship into some kind of large sphere filled with flames, which I can only assume is a central core of sorts that is powered by the magic of the Lums he's collected from you. and yes, Mr. Dark was the magician who appears at the end of every level.

So Mr. Dark's ship collides with the core, causing a huge explosion and destroying the metal fortress. Rayman and his friends fall to earth and land in the same exact spot that they were sleeping in at the very beginning of the game-- and from there, they resume their obnoxious snoring.

The End.
