Re: Rayman Origins
Well, so did Mr. Dark's minions in R1, but he first needed to nab the Great Protoon in order to bring them all off balance so he could do so - or at least, that's the impression I get.

I wish they hadn't scrapped the feature in which Rayman could stand on the ground and use his hairlycopter to blow wind.

Re: Rayman Origins
It seems that the heroes have to free Electoons to rebuild the bridges between the worlds, so I guess that forming world-spanning bridges is the natural purpose of these Electoons at least. Maybe that’s what ‘gravitating around the Great Protoon’ actually means? Notice that all the levels in R1 are linked by trails of pink dots – maybe the dots represent Electoons, and Rayman is travelling across Electoon bridges off-screen?Shrooblord wrote:I was just thinking: how come the Electoons are once again scattered all around the world? Why? It looked fairly useless to me.Greenbottle3 wrote:I wish they hadn't scrapped the feature in which Rayman could stand on the ground and use his hairlycopter to blow wind.

Re: Rayman Origins
Nice theory, Spiral.
Still, they left a lot of fun things in. Take Globox for example - he's just a whole collection of slapstick. For one he grabs ledges with his face. Also, when he crouches he becomes a living pudding. Lastly, I think his Bubble Form is by far the funniest.

Right, few days ago I remind that this power got scrapped from the final version of the game. Kind of a pity but I believe Spiral is right.spiraldoor wrote:Why? Re: Rayman Origins
Hmm that's sad. I would have expected the scenarios like the one with the dandilions from the trailers would have been used somewhere in the game, but I guess not, judging by these remarks.

Re: Rayman Origins
I just wonder, why did they scrap the air-blowing ability? Well, it was obviously replaced by the "shrinking" ability, which I find as the biggest fail in this game. The ability to blow air was intended to:
-Give some air to other gliding characters.
-Propel ship-like objects, like the also scrapped ship watermelon from the second trailer
-Possibly, turn off the also scrapped fiery lums.
-turn on those horny nymphs

I hate that ability. Whenever my friend is bubblized, I attack him and end up flying off a ledge, dying. And it's harder to kill enemies.sergiomonty wrote: Well, it was obviously replaced by the "shrinking" ability, which I find as the biggest fail

Re: Rayman Origins
Rayman Origins is the first good Rayman game since The Great Escape. It mixes everything about that game and Rayman 1, and even some of things from 3 that weren't awful. That's my opinion! The Livid Dead level was really tough but satisfying when you learned how to get through it correctly!
Re: Rayman Origins
Getting very close to 100%ing this now, just about 6 electoons to go, all involving getting the majority of Lums in the shooting stages, which I think are easier in 2 player as one can sort out enemies at the top of the screen and the other the bottom. Then it will be Platinum'ed!
