You should do Allegro Presto instead. There are more tings there.THEdragon wrote:I'm going to play Anguish Lagoon over and over until I have earned enough lives

Yes but I always lose more lives in that level than I earn! XDSabertooth1000000000 wrote:You should do Allegro Presto instead. There are more tings there.THEdragon wrote:I'm going to play Anguish Lagoon over and over until I have earned enough lives
That reminds me of those two times I finally completed the Magician's bonus level, then fell into water straight after.

There's two or three hundred if I'm correct?Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:You should do Allegro Presto instead. There are more tings there.THEdragon wrote:I'm going to play Anguish Lagoon over and over until I have earned enough lives

Re: Rayman 1
Indeed. I always get at least two lives there if I don't die a slippery death.

Well here's my problem, I always die a slippery melodic death.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:mmmmmIndeed. I always get at least two lives there if I don't die a slippery death.

Re: Rayman 1
Okedoke, that's understandable, though I've always seen creepypastas based off horrific things, like Lavender TownTHEdragon wrote:Not really, sometimes the most innocent games are the best to make creepypastas from. It's excruciatingly hard, but it didn't give me nightmares like the Mini-Rayman eating-Janos from the Cave of Bad Dreams.THEdragon wrote:Also, I'm writing a creepypasta based off this game, because I was devestated to find that there are no Rayman creepypastas yet.![]()
*Ahem* Anyways, I've played up to Mr Stone's Peaks and I'm going to play Anguish Lagoon over and over until I have earned enough lives (From tings) to gain the confidence to attempt that level again.
Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, that's understandable. But Rayman 1 is the only Rayman game I have (At the moment aside from Rayman 2 which DOSbox won't open) so it's the only one I know well enough to write about. Then again, YouTube videos do help a lot.
Re: Rayman 1
This is the exact same dilemma I'm going through in my game of Rayman at the moment. I've played Pink Plant Woods and Anguish Lagoon over and over on a continuous loop just to get more lives! AAGH! Plus the fact that for some reason every time I get two or more lives, I save the game, but it always forgets for some reason and sets it back to one every time I load backTHEdragon wrote:I'm going to play Anguish Lagoon over and over until I have earned enough lives
Also this. This happens to me all the time XDTHEdragon wrote: That reminds me of those two times I finally completed the Magician's bonus level, then fell into water straight after.
And hey, this is the first post I've made since my two day Christmas computer break. Hi

Welcome back Electoooooon!
Yeah, if it weren't for the Magician being one of my favourite characters I would have mentally kicked his hat into the nearby water out of RAGE!
The nearby water that happens to kill every land-dwelling species that touches it.

Lol
Just a little question - what version of Rayman are you playing? I believe you mentioned before that you're doing it in DOSbox so I'm now instantly assuming it's for the PC - but is it Gold, Forever, that amazing special version of Forever that I keep hearing/seeing about but am now starting to doubt it's existence due to lack of knowledge/copies
or just plain old Rayman for the PC?
Looking up at that sentence I've just written, I now realise the question didn't turn out so little....

Re: Rayman 1
Just regular PC Rayman.
I know very little about the other PC versions, really...
Re: Rayman 1
Ah cool, the best (asides from the possible special edition) version there is if you want to play the original game and not the extras. Forever removes a large chunk of the soundtrack to fit them all on. Having said that, the PC version just butchers the soundtrack anyway by making it into a medley of songs as opposed to the tracks on their own (as they are on Raytunes). You need the PlayStation or Saturn version for that!THEdragon wrote:Just regular PC Rayman.I know very little about the other PC versions, really...
All the other versions of PC Rayman do is feature a cut down version of the original game, along with Rayman Designer, which not only includes a new set of IMPOSSIBLY HARD LEVELS (AAAGH) but also lets you create your own Rayman levels (cool). Rayman Forever also includes 'Rayman By His Fans' which is what it says on the tin. Levels made by Rayman fans which are usually a lot of fun actually. If I want a quick game of Rayman without actually playing the original game, I'll always go to one of the fan levels
Re: Rayman 1
Ah, I've heard of the designer levels. ^_^
....I've also heard it's fun to hack Rayman Designer!

Re: Rayman 1
I've seen loads of people do cool things with that, but I'm not really sure how. The best I've been able to do is replace the tile sets and put Rayman in a classroom with badly aligned Raymanian children. (it was a homage to a map I made when I was very very little)THEdragon wrote:Ah, I've heard of the designer levels. ^_^

Re: Rayman 1
Bwahaha that sounds cute! When did you do that?
Re: Rayman 1
The original was made when I was about six years old and used built in tiles to make the other pupils, which as a result made them look like sprites from an Atari 2600 gameTHEdragon wrote:Bwahaha that sounds cute! When did you do that?
The new one in it's current hopeless miss-aligned state was made in (what is soon to be not last year) 2010. I should probably go round to fixing it at some point...
Re: Rayman 1
Awesome! May I see a screenshot or is it a bit too late for that?
Re: Rayman 1
Not at all! It's just a case of digging the maps out again. I'll be back in a minute, hopefully with screenshot goodnessTHEdragon wrote:Awesome! May I see a screenshot or is it a bit too late for that?
Re: Rayman 1
Awesome
Also, DOSbox sometimes glitches up after I die and makes the game run too fast or slow. I have a funny video on YouTube of Mr Stone's Peaks running all sped up like it's had too much caffiene. And I pasted silly annotations all over it to!

Tehrunescape455 an I were the founders of Rayman Designer hacking, so if you have any questions you can ask me, or post on this board.
