Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
It being out of place is still in effect though. Considering that the Ratchet & Clank universe has a more 'punkish' appearance than Rayman's relatively modest universe, especially in the Activity Centre where kids are supposed to be "learning," it seems completely out of the blue and random to throw in a cuss, even if it's mild. A game would need a more mature atmosphere (such as Ratchet & Clank) to venture into that area. If Ubisoft makes the next 3D Rayman game have a more mature atmosphere overall with more developed characters, it might not be as much of an issue.

Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
Of course mild cursing wouldn’t fit in the learning games, as those are targeted very directly at young children. It would feel about as right as characters cursing in Barney the Dinosaur. But Rayman 2 is darker and targets a broader audience than, say, Rayman Junior. I can’t imagine anyone but a raving puritan being offended by a single instance of an evil robot in Rayman 2 saying ‘damn’. I found the fairies with the big boobs in Rayman Origins much more unfitting.

I agree with all that.spiraldoor wrote:Of course mild cursing wouldn’t fit in the learning games, as those are targeted very directly at young children. Unfortunately this has happened, and I was watching it live with my cousin (back when she was young) when the kids accidentally dropped a brick on poor Barney's foot.spiraldoor wrote:It would feel about as right as characters cursing in Barney the Dinosaur.

Wah, what kind of video compression did I use on that one!THEdragon wrote: Also, one of the bestest screenshots from Rayman Activity Centre. I took it from a YouTube video though, so the quality is bad.
Maybe if we ask Electoon nicely, she'll upload a better quality screenshot for us!![]()
*Really poor quality screenshot*
Here's one taken from the game instead:

Am I the only one who didn't find the "big boobs" a disturbing detail from Rayman Origins? What's funny is that most boys are complaining about it.

This actually makes sense. As a girl you do not "notice" it. As boys we do "notice" it for obvious reasons, and it disturbs us slightly in enjoying the fairy-talish word.Haruka wrote:Am I the only one who didn't find the "big boobs" a disturbing detail from Rayman Origins? It doesn’t really fit with the innocent style of the earlier games.

Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
True, but I believe it could be even more worse than just a pair of "balloons".stan423321 wrote:This actually makes sense. As a girl you do not "notice" it. The art style is quite different, but will kids really care about the fairies' chest?spiraldoor wrote:It doesn’t really fit with the innocent style of the earlier games.

Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
It’s not a big deal by any means, I just prefer the way the old games handled the female characters.

I admit Edith Up is more "full" than the other fairies.

Add some thigh highs to those boobed creatures and I would have been all over them.Haruka wrote:Am I the only one who didn't find the "big boobs" a disturbing detail from Rayman Origins? What's funny is that most boys are complaining about it.
Not that m currently not all over them. Everytime they come on that screen I have a mini HNGGGGGGG moment.
I then realise that im playing a game that is for kids 10 and up, and that in reality those fairies are just drawings and that I should stop being a faggot.
Plus, Yuugi Hoshiguma is my Waifu.
Other than that, it really is kinda disturbing to see boobs that constantly shake, and girls that have barely any clothing on.
Oh and the boots. OH they are Thigh High boots the boots just add that extra sexy. Its pretty odd to see in a rayman game, well not for me because I love that stuff. Yep.
I have no idea what I'm talking about anymore. Its just not good to see in a game directed towards kids... I guess.
Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc had suggestive jokes and yet it was a PEGI 7 game.

True true R3 was in my mind the whole time I was typing that blabbler. Trying to see this from a person who this would truly bother's view. I geuss when it comes to a woman being sexualized its just disturbing for a childs game?
Lol sorry I haven't been able to have a good rest since sunday. I almost don't know if what im saying makes any sense.

Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
The Polish version of Rayman 3 included Begoniax calling Rayman a rapist and many disturbing comments from basically ANY character. Except Rayman. It's still PEGI 7.

And an E-rated game over here.Haruka wrote:Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc had suggestive jokes and yet it was a PEGI 7 game.
Honestly, I have no idea how. The ESRB must have been drunk when they rated it, or maybe they were told that a new Rayman game was coming out, so they immediately slapped it with an E rating without even playing it. I mean, the Ratchet & Clank games have lots of suggestive humor like Rayman 3, and they always get an E10 or T rating, but Rayman 3 gets an E rating. Wut.
BTW, when I rented the game back in Summer of 2004, my mom came in during the part where Murphy mentions wanting to be in a movie with a girl who has big "eyes", and the manual telling him "The only role you'd ever play is in an X-rated movie wearing your birthday suit!" Boy, did my mom flip. However, she did let me keep playing the game until it was time to take it back to the video store, though.

Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
I should probably do more of those for the purpose of Ray-wiki articles. Plus the fact that the compression I put on those Youtube videos is really bad! It was only when I saw your screeny that I noticed
Re: Cool Rayman Pictures
I noticed something kinda disturbing about that screenshot, Electoon.
If you look closely, the Musician's wife has an extra guitar and hand layered behind her.
And why is she staring at that fire like that?
She's a witch. D:

She stares like that at everything. From her child to a fire. Next time you see her she'll be looking like that at Weegee and the universe will collapse due to the two most sacred stares meeting each other.THEdragon wrote: And why is she staring at that fire like that?

And no it does not involve her roasting the baby over a fire, but that did cross my mind.
