Hai. Most of you know I run a media design team. Not sure how many of you are interested in helping on games, music productions, etc. as an official part, but I think I MAY have something that a small number of you would be willing to participate in.

UTAU!

Some of my sound programmers are going to be learning the UTAU program and we're looking for some people to join the WCS with their UTAUloid characters that will star in various productions. UTAUloids are fanmade Vocaloids. If you don't know what they are, you can red here:

Basically your voice will be used to create a singing character that will have his/her own unique identity. You do NOT need singing experience. All you will be doing is recording monotone syllables and sounds for your UTAUloid's 'voice bank', and that bank will be used to create beautiful music.

Here's an example of songs made with an UTAUloid that someone created using their own voice:


If you're interested in creating and maintaining a UTAUloid character for the WCS choruses and productions, please post here or PM me. I will create you an account on my personal production forums where you will be able to keep tabs on your UTAUloid character.

I require at least a 110 syllable basic voice bank for an UTAUloid song featuring your UTAUloid. Your UTAUloid will also need an official appearance and personality. An appointed artist will be making the official look (based off of your sketch/paragraph explaining how your UTAUloid looks) in drawing the UTAUloids.

So far we have the following UTAUloids that are slowly building voice banks:

1. Niflheim - Male - Voiced by Abel Niflheim
2. Aiba Ryzaki - Male - Voiced by Nightmare Nadia
3. Inaba Kurui - Female - voiced by me
4. Hikifune Jei - Female - voiced by Jei-chan

Abel will also voice a female UTAUloid once he is done making a nice bank for Niflheim. And we have Maya1990 who will be voicing an UTAUloid (she has not decided upon a name yet).

My goal/cap is to get at least 8 and no more than 10 UTAUloids to work with. At this point both male and female voices are welcome.

This statement in bold is false because UTAU is a completely separate program to vocaloid, it's only relation is that the programs deal with the same thing.

Another thing on the same note is that this should be both an UTAU and Vocaloid thread, as I do not have UTAU however I have vocaloid and would be interested in this project of yours.

For some reason I always thought the UTAU program was like a free fanmade-ish Vocaloid program. XD Just free instead of for sale. Then again it doesn't even matter at all.

As long as its voiced by you and can sing, I don't mind what program its made in, honestly. Just I know that the current members' voice banks are all going into the UTAU program I have, so thats why I called them UTAUloids. Since well, they are. Since the UTAU program handles the rendering of the songs for them.

UTAU was heavily inspired by vocaloid and was made to be free and allow users to create their own voicebanks. But that doesn't mean to say it's the same, just because Braveheart was heavily inspired by Scottish history doesn't mean to say that it is Scottish history.

And I just read the "you have to sing part" bah I have no mic nor can I sing (Nor can vocaloid be functioned for voice input to make voicebanks). I was hoping I could use vocaloid to make a song or something.

I didn't, I said it was fanmade, I didn't say it was the same. So technically UTAUloids ARE fanmade vocaloids o.o since they are singing programs/voices must like vocaloids, only made by fans/non-vocaloid contributors of the originals usually. woooo

And really? Vocaloid suxx if you can't make your own..... D:. I'm glad I have UTAU instead then. And, neither can Mister D, but his loid kicks arse with singing I think. I thought that was one of the points with loids, to make yourself sing even if you can't~~~

Cause neither can Niflheim's creator. x.x; But his loid doesn't sound too bad either. And soon I will have Aiba Ryzaki's basic bank to work with.

Though right now we're working with very basic banks, so we can't make them sound all natural yet or anything. Jei-chan is putting together a complete reclist for us right now, including VCV. And we're starting to learn about how to config the oto.ini for more natural sounds. Though with some of these loids I'd rather them stay "robotic". It makes Manai Yokoshima sound extra nice that way somehow.

He is unreleased, unfortunately (I wish I could get my hands on his bank.....but Mister D refuses a release at least right now D:), but Dark's put out some of his MP3s.

He sounds like a slig from oddworld series He's one of the most interesting unique sounding loids I've heard. His voice is absolutely gorgeous IMO. And he has agreed to do a Love is War version~ at my request. So I'm waiting to hear that.

I think he has a new song about to release before he takes a break while Mister D composes an original song for him to sing. I think he will be singing something called Melody.exe. He will also be making a duet with Hikifune Jei to the song Magnet. He will also be recording a complete VCV bank, and extra sounds, and configuring his oto.ini (so I'm told). Stay tuned?

Our UTAUloid chorus is getting there. Seems like we're male heavy though. >.>

They are separate programs. They are not linked other than the fact they do the same thing much like how paint and photoshop both deal with drawing.

I am aware of all the Miku clones for UTAU but it wasn't clear that you were referring to the characters as UTAUloid is a term often used to describe the program.
