Re: Rayman M-Arena
Rayman M is like a 3D version of Rayman Origins.
Think about it. The levels are extremely linear, apart from a few secret passages here and there. There’s not much of a story. The gameplay is oriented towards momentum, with lots of environmental objects that speed you up, make you bounce, etc. You can play with up to four characters at once, including Rayman, Globox and Teensies, all of whom have multiple skins. One of the final unlockables is an evil version of Rayman. You can beat your friends up. The players are graded at the end of each level.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
But that evil Rayman skin is only for Rayman Arena of GCN and Xbox.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
I don't think so; maybe just a bit. In Rayman M, there wasn't any bosses for example, or many bonus levels, howewer it hasn't a notable story. Rayman Origins has a real story that maybe just a bit simple to realize, but it has more challanges, more secrets to find, more possibilities and more fun. I'm definitely not agree with this.spiraldoor wrote:Rayman M is like a 3D version of Rayman Origins.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
I’m obviously not saying that it is literally a 3D version of Rayman Origins, but there are many significant parallels.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
That's actually a very interesting way to look at it. Now that I think about it, Rayman M's races seem almost exactly what a 3D Origins might feel like, though obviously they would more up to today's standards.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Would it be worth Geting the Gamecube version if you already had the PS2 version of Rayman Arena.

If you're a collector, than probably. If you're someone looking for a new experience, then probably not.

Or if you meant that you have rewrote with red colour: i would say that if he have money and he would like to buy it, then do it.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Warning, the GC/Xbox version of Rayman Arena do not work in PAL consoles, UNLESS they have any kind of piracy mode (like modchip, swapdisc, etc).
The GC version is one of the american Rayman games in my wishlist.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
If we're going on about the gamecube version, not sure if anyone got notified about it via Dolphin's Issues page but I *think* I found a workaround for the Rise and Shrine level freeze; tapping A pretty much as soon as it loads should avoid the freeze and get you in and running as normal; it seems to work with Globox atm but I may try it with the others. I only ended up finding this because one time my bf and I were sodding about with it [testing dolphin on his laptop] and we managed to go on R&S just fine perhaps because I did this [something I do quite a lot with games even when they don't need it], and today I was trying it and yep, normally I'd have the crash too and I'm on Win7 64-bit.
Those that found that freeze annoying, give that a try though. Mind I've got my PS3 pad almost perfectly configured so I don't know how using the keyboard will work.
It's been 3 years since Droolie first got it working, and the emulator STILL can't run the videos :/

Yep, that was the solution I used. Tapping A as soon as it loads will skip the cutscene and the freeze - if you're lucky.Cairnie wrote:If we're going on about the gamecube version, not sure if anyone got notified about it via Dolphin's Issues page but I *think* I found a workaround for the Rise and Shrine level freeze; tapping A pretty much as soon as it loads should avoid the freeze and get you in and running as normal; it seems to work with Globox atm but I may try it with the others. The videos still don't work but if anyone wants them, I think I can convert them to a playable format. I'm not sure, but I have the audio so getting the video should be possible too.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
I can get the video if you want, I live in North America after all, so it's as easy as a snap of the finger.
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Wrong, I actually am able already to run the videos without any issues.Cairnie wrote: It's been 3 years since Droolie first got it working, and the emulator STILL can't run the videos :/

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Really? I was trying it in the latest Dolphin build they put out but then I had it on Direct9...which works best for that then?
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Try to download the most recent build and be sure you configure in the graphics plugin:
- External Frame Buffer - Real
- If necessary, change the EFB copies into RAM instead of texture.
All of these are in the hacks section.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Abhinav asked me yesterday if I could rip the Rayman M voices for him, so I did. And I'll share them with this forum too:
http://www.mediafire.com/?xm4zy484tpp2tw3
This was ripped from the PC version of Rayman M, not Rayman Arena. It does contain some Dark Globox (Dk) sound effects though... does that mean he was going to be included in Rayman M but he was scrapped for some reason?
