Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I became a fan 12 years ago in 2000 when one of my parent's friends gave us a PS1 bundled with four games. Theme Park World, Crash Bandicoot, Rayman 1 and 2. Instantly, I became a fan of Rayman and played it for hours

I have a huge scar on my knee to prove it.Rulez wrote:So you took an arrow in the knee FUCKRayFan9876 wrote: I watched up to the second area in Allegro Presto, then it was time to go to preschool.

But you still are an adventurer, despite taking an arrow in the knee.RayFan9876 wrote:I have a huge scar on my knee to prove it.Rulez wrote:So you took an arrow in the knee FUCKRayFan9876 wrote: I watched up to the second area in Allegro Presto, then it was time to go to preschool.
See that, guards? She's still adventuring though she took an arrow in the knee. You pussies.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I first started playing rayman 1 when I was 4 years old, I sucked at it, and I quit. which is why I never WAS REALLY a TRUE fan until the year of 2000, when I actually finished R1 and loved it! Ever since then I feel like I accomplished something as if... as if I had survived a war. It was a heartbreaking moment. Too much nostalgia? :p

Maybe a little bit.Rayfist090 wrote:Too much nostalgia? :p
My cousin used to live in with us and he was like an older brother to me. He played Rayman 2 on the PC and that's how I got to know the franchise. I remember playing around in the Woods of Light, trying to get back up the waterfall right under the very first cage. I also tried chasing the moskitoes and I never really managed to hover to the ledge with the Globoxes... I think I thought you had to take a good run before you could do it. Apparently I never beat the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire, because I remember the Hall of Doors not reaching to beyond that point.
I think for me it was the music that captured me. I am still in awe of that music as to this day - especially the Prologue is a brilliant score in my opinion - and since then I got to know Rayman GBC, which I also loved, Rayman M, Rayman 3 and Rayman 1 in that order. The day the Rabbids invaded my TV screen was the day I cursed upon UbiSoft for ruining my hero. ... and then came Rayman Origins... oh, sweet reconciliation.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I got a Playstation for christmas...I was either four or five...and Rayman was one of the games I got for it. I don't recall if I was ever able to beat the game, but it does hold a special place in my heart for being only one of 2 games that I have played so much they broke (first being Sonic 2). It got to the point where the only way the game would load was for me to sit through the entire opening, and eventually even that stopped working. Although now I can recite that intro by heart

Haha I picked 2000 because I think 5 years old is the best age at which I can assume I knew what videogames were - before then, not so much, maybe just pretty screens.RayFan9876 wrote:So many 2000ers, I feel like a veteran.

Hmm, that sounds like a wrong assumption. 5 is quite old for not knowing what is going on. I'll change my vote then.

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
While its possible I got Rayman in 95, that would have made me 3. I think I still had a sega at that point. I'm gonna guess it was either 96 or 97 for me.RayFan9876 wrote:So many 2000ers, I feel like a veteran.
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
Oh, I see the voting!~ Omg, it seems that I'm the only one who has been loving Rayman since 1996.
If I remember well, I've been being a fan since then... or if not, I don't miss too much, the next option I could start it is '97, but I was very young, so can't remember well. XD

Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
Isn't '96 like the oldest time from which a Rayman fan could come? That's pretty cool - lovin' it at release.
Btw I like the Pirate outfit that you're wearing in your sig.

It's 95, but i think no one became a fan in the same year as it has been released.Shrooblord wrote:Isn't '96 like the oldest time from which a Rayman fan could come?

I hadn't even heard of Rayman when it first came out and even back then I was a kid... yet I was playing Zool on the school Acorn... haha
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I was very little, like 4 years old when I first played it if I remember well ^^ It was one of the most awesome moments in my life when I got the first Rayman. ;w;Shrooblord wrote:Isn't '96 like the oldest time from which a Rayman fan could come? That's pretty cool - lovin' it at release.

I was given Rayman 2 when I got my computer. I played it, absolutly loved it, and have been a Rayman fan ever since. It is probably, still, one of my favourite games to play.

I fell in love with the Rayman series when my brother first got Rayman Arena, I wanted one too but the store had Rayman 3 instead. I never regret it.

Since 1995 baby!
Re: How did you become a Rayman fan?
I mistook, you then became a fan in the same year the first game released!
