Yep, it's the Snake of the Dead from the Land of the Livid Dead. Basicly, it's one of those things you ride when the course moves you through the level as opposed to you moving you through the level.
Oh, lol.I knew what it was, I was trying to ask what the creature was called and what it was meant to be. Sorry for not being clear. :oops2:

So Snake of the Living Dead. Gotcha :mryellow:

They mixed up R2 and RO; he looks like the Rayman 2 model, but drawn in Origins style. I regret that they scrapped this.

You guys need to stop complaining about every little thing that didn’t make it into the game. A lot of what was scrapped was scrapped for a reason. Origins would be a nightmare with a life system; do you seriously wish that it had one just so you could run around collecting cute Rayman statues with big heads?

If there is one thing I'm glad they scrapped, it was lives. They truly are what make the first game so annoying (asides from the limited continues) and I still have yet to win it as a result (I haven't given up though :D)

Eh, you know what. I'm just going to quote something about lives from another forum for the rest of this post instead of typing out a new rant like some non-lazy person would :P. Ignore the fact that I talk of Sonic Unleashed, the post was about game in general, and still is:
In this day an age there are save games, so lives are just pointlessly there and usually mean an unnecessary game over screen in the middle of a level you can just load back to :P, and that's always annoying in a game with checkpoints because you have to start over.
I can understand the use of lives today in games that are trying to be short and simple like a classic arcade game (and that's always fun), but in games such as Sonic Unleashed for example, it's just weird that they are still used.
But as for Tarayzan...

EDIT: 500 posts..woo! Image
My 500th post and I wasted it on a rant about lives ;(

Lives were disappearing back in the PS2 days, Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank didn't use a life system, more just a health system.
In fact, I'd go as far to say that the lives system became useless in the advent of 3d gaming, maybe even before that.

The only thing I think lives are really good for are arcade games, and games in an arcade style (E.G. games that are quickly pick-up-able as opposed to games you're going to sit down for a few hours getting into. And those sort of games are really fun you want to play something quickly :)). But other then that, they've just become more and more redundant over time

I have to agree here with spiraldoor, you can collect as many Rayman cuties as you want, but you will spend all of them in the Land of the Livid Dead... that's kinda unfair, isn't it?

Exactly. You guys should be happy for the life system being scrapped. Try to imagine yourselves playing the Land of the Livid Dead with a system like that :boon:. You should be happy for not existing, because I am.

The limited lives was exactly what made Rayman 1 so brutal, even with the cheats.

The nightmare of many. It is funny how I got sometimes accused in my YouTube walkthroughs of R1 of cheating. They don't believe in the impossible. :P

I'll say, before I completed 100% legit, Up, down, right, left was the only way I could get anywhere in Rayman 1.
Getting rid of the lives system is one of the smartest decisions Ancel has made.
If Origins had lives, Rayman 1 would surely have been beaten in terms of difficulty, and Rayman Origins might have been rated lower for the increased difficulty.

I think I worshipped Haruka for a while after that.

I guess I would have liked a health system pretty much like the R2 one

It's incredibly discouraging. Even though there aren't any real consequences to it (due to saving), the thought of getting a game over has this strange psychological effect that has often made me nervous and unwilling to take chances. Considering that the game is all about taking chances, this quickly becomes a huge problem. Good thing the series moved away on from life systems at an early point.
