Actually, after the Jaguar version, they ported it from the PlayStation version to the other versions, including the PC version. Unfortunately, the PC version actually had the worst sprite graphics out of any of the original releases. If you look closely, you'll see that there are fewer shades in the PC version due to computers at that time only running in 8-bit colour.

Mother of the Great Protoon, I just realised that Tarayzan only has three toes on each foot, possibly the Musician also.

I've been drawing their feet with four toes this whole time.

This is so unreal.

And in every single piece of fan art I've made of either, they have three toes on one foot and four on the other - I'd never noticed before and now it is really annoying me for some reason :confus:

I actually had a fanart I started ages ago but never got around to finishing, but just yesterday I fixed Tarayzan's toes (lol) and started some colouring.

Finally beat Mr. Stone's Peaks (with all Electoons that is) today! I left the level with one less life then before, but if I hadn't found any along the way, I would have come out with a lost less. For some reason it's the 4th part I kept having trouble with, which is odd as that's probably the most ordinary map in the level (the rest having super helecopter and rising water gimmicks and such). Only 5 more levels (of hell) to beat now

You're right, I should! :D I have some other unfinished art in my picture folders, like that one of Dr Twinkles. XD I also drew and coloured a picture of the Musician's child- well, two of them, one with brown hair and the other with not-brown hair- but it turned out wierd looking so it's just sitting silently gathering digital dust...

As for the game, hmm, I'm up to the second level of Picture City but I haven't gone back to play it for a while, 'cause Picture City kinda scares me.

And I've come to the realisation that there is actually a real location called the Blue Mountains, in Australia. XD

There’s a mountain range called the Blue Mountains in Middle-earth as well.

And I bet none of the 'Blue Mountains' are even blue. How misleading! :fou2:

And it's obvious that the Blue Mountains in Rayman's world are purple. :fou:

Pencil Pentathlon ain't all that bad. I think Eraser Plains is the more hellish of the two. The most annoying part of Pentathlon is probably the level that begins with the bouncy rubber puzzle - although that gets a little (and I mean a little) simpler when you remember to use the helicopter to control decent.

It never occurred to me that there was a severe lack of blue in the Blue Mountains until you mentioned it :P

EDIT: Speaking of which, I nearly completed the second level of Picture City with all Electoons. Unfortunately, just as I got the last one I messed up repeatedly while trying to leap over some pencils, leaving me with 1 life. I quickly quit the game and forgot that I had ever done anything at all. :(

Yeah, I might have a go at that tomorrow. One of the reasons I haven't been playing Rayman lately might be because my Wacom tablet seems to not start up when i plug it in unless the installation disk is in the diskdrive, and I use the tablet often and can't be bothered switcing disks all the time.

Also I just had the wierdest idea that the second and third parts of Mr Stone's Peaks are flooded because the Musician cried too much.

My tablet is screwy too, the drivers clash with something causing the computer to frequently BSOD when it's plugged in - especially if you try to play certain games (the only example I can think of right now is Battlefield Heroes). The annoying thing is there are no driver updates for it. Plus, since I've been forced to pack it away to help the computer (:() the tablet pen has gone missing. I might have to splash out on a new one at some point, I miss tablet doodles...

The worst level is Space Mama's Crater, particularly the one prior to Space Mama's boss fight:

Timing, skill and speed are all a must, the level won't forgive you if you do so much as duck one second late.

That map looks like an elaborate torture chamber death trap.

I just entered the Hard Rocks with 4 lives and came out with 9 :D. I'm so pleased with it that I don't mind that I missed a few Electoons along the way. It does mean I have to play it again though...

Ah yes, I forgot about that one. Looking at the map from that perspective I can see why they chose the dark atmospheric Swamps of Forgetfulness track on a non-scrolling level . I don't remember having too much trouble, but it was before my save game corrupted , so I was a little more carefree with lives. I think corrupted game or not, you should never ever be carefree with lives in Rayman Image

I'm still jealous of the Saturn version where they get to play that level IN SPACE

It is, trust me.

Can anyone help me? I'm playing Picture City again (getting a new save file up so I can once again fight Mr Dark) but I'm having trouble getting to a cage, or at least, where I think there's a cage. It's that level where at a certain point there's a large ramp of slippery floor downwards and the point where I get stuck on is the jump. Where do you jump, exactly, to make it to the higher platform? I can easily reach the lower platform, which leads to level progression, but I want to get on the higher one, because I remember there's a cage up there. It's Pencil Pentathlon and its the large ramp to the right of the middle (the part that's just about cut off by this forum).

How about creating an ISO image of both of your disks (or at least that one with game)? After that you may leave image on your hard drive and open it with help of program like Daemon Tools - there is going to be some work with that, but you won't juggle CDs all the time. I usually do that when I don't want to use original discs, because I'm afraid I'll damage them - got pretty serious talent to destroy everything I touch, especially expensive and fragile things herpderp

That's what I do with my CD games, CDs break all the time and particularly if I received them in good condition I like to use them as little as possible. That's what I did with Rayman's World and what intend to with Rayman Collector when it arrives

Oh yes, that level was a real pain. I always lost a ton of lives there.

It's the DSi version, in this case, but I'm not sure whether that's based off the PC one or the PS one.
