Musicians are everywhere. Might have been a coincidence.

Re: Rayman: The Animated Series
Well, seeing as the next episode was set to be called 'My Fair Lac-mac' (where did we first find this out, anyway?), it could be likely...
Also, the French version of Rayman Activity Centre features concept art of TAS for backgrounds, including one of a swimming pool in Aeropolis. Maybe there was meant to be an episode set there? Who knows, it's all long cancelled now, so we can only speculate

Isn't that episode canceled somehow though? ._.Electoon wrote:Well, seeing as the next episode was set to be called 'My Fair Lac-mac' (where did we first find this out, anyway?), it could be likely...

...Lol, I totally didn't make that connection xD That would be interestng.Electoon wrote:Well, seeing as the next episode was set to be called 'My Fair Lac-mac' (where did we first find this out, anyway?), it could be likely...
~It calls into debate though whether they'd reuse the old Audrey Hepburn songs from the original or just write new ones. The latter is probably more likely being that A copyright and B half the songs wouldn't make sense in Rayman's world. And, you know, "Eliza" being a boy
EDIT: Which also calls into question the ending, being that I'm preetty sure it ends with Eliza and Higgins gettin married xD

Re: Rayman: The Animated Series
It's too bad the series got cancelled before any of the arc storyline got to express itself. I would have liked seeing Rigatoni's role in all of it. I wonder how you, as a company, make a series and then cancel it half-way through, while still hosting episodes. I thought seasons of series were all shot in one go and then released to the TV so the ratings could judge whether you'd be going up for another run next season.
Re: Rayman: The Animated Series
Well, their were meant to be thirteen episodes, but one of the reasons the show had to be cancelled was due to lack of funding if I remember correctly. It probably cost a lot to do the 3D animation back then.Shrooblord wrote:It's too bad the series got cancelled before any of the arc storyline got to express itself. I still find it highly interesting that the series was made by Ubisoft themselves instead of being shipped off to some lame TV production company to make one for them as most people wanting tie-in series would. It really gives the feel of the series, in particular the backgrounds, that Rayman vibe
Re: Rayman: The Animated Series
Indeed. I think if the series continued, the plot could develop in a more interesting way, and who knows watching Rayman using more his powers.Shrooblord wrote:It's too bad the series got cancelled before any of the arc storyline got to express itself. Re: Rayman: The Animated Series
It could have been but the fact that they gave up on it because what they had so far was badly written says it all really :S

It was both and I'm glad that it's still possible to view DA comments for deviations long gone. http://comments.deviantart.com/1/75184119/637852257
Hollywood formula indeed
Hollywood formula indeed
Re: Rayman: The Animated Series
Where did this fact even come from anyway? I know it is written on Wikipedia but it is unsourced and sounds like a highly judgmental opinion rather then a fact. Is there any other actual source that says it was cancelled due to poor writing, like a DVD commentary or something?Cairnie wrote:It could have been but the fact that they gave up on it because what they had so far was badly written says it all really :S
And besides, I liked the writing =(
EDIT: I'm taking it that was someone who worked on the show feeding back on why it got cancelled. Well, I guess I can rely that more

I better actually use the ref tag for that comment when Raywiki is fully working again but check my last post.

Re: Rayman: The Animated Series
I don’t think anyone involved in the production cared about it enough to spend forty-five minutes recording a commentary.Electoon wrote:Is there any other actual source that says it was cancelled due to poor writing, like a DVD commentary or something?

What happened to Raywiki anyway? It's been acting strangely all day...Cairnie wrote:I better actually use the ref tag for that comment when Raywiki is fully working again but check my last post.

Just quoting what was posted there for the sake of future readers who can't actually access that DA page (I've had that happen to me with links a lot of times myself):Cairnie wrote:http://comments.deviantart.com/1/75184119/637852257

Sean Le Blanc would. I remember someone saying he said it was one of the best/funnest/most enjoyable projects he'd ever done.spiraldoor wrote:I don’t think anyone involved in the production cared about it enough to spend forty-five minutes recording a commentary.
