Rayman 1 Origins

Confusing title aside, I'm trying to write the characters and events of Rayman 1 and 2 into Origin's timeline. I will include images once I get them scanned (They just mainly Origin styled R1 characters).


RAYMAN 1

Following Rayman's creation to fend off Jano and the 1st nightmares, a Teensie proficient in many forms of magic decides the Bubble Dreamer is highly unfit to rule the land. Noticing that when horrible stuff happens to the Great Proton the Bubble Dreamer goes wacko.

The Teensie cloaks himself to avoid recognition and calls himself Mr. Dark.

His plan is simple. Steal the Great Protoon and thus cause the Great Polokus to go bonkers. Mr. Dark realized that stealing the Protoon would also cause the hall of doors (made up of electoons) would crumble away; and cause the creatures of the Glade to go mad.

His plan to correct the Hall of doors is easy, since he is a Teensie he can create new paths after recapturing every electoon.

He also manages to sway the mad creatures under his command and have them search out the Electoons for him, while he builds a new resting place for the world's heart.

Rayman, who is all hyped up on being the hero, doesn't yet have the full trust of many of the glade's inhabitants (mainly a Glute named Globox, and a few high Ranking Teensies).

When the Magician, (who at the time, was poor on magic and instead relied on prestidigitation) caught wind of the Protoon's kidnapping he quickly alerted the Fairy Council. And Betilla, the Nymph representitve at the council, decided to have Rayman fend off the threat.

As Rayman fought through the hordes of wacky nightmares, the Magician tagged along.

The Magician noticed more and more Nightmares causing damage, and started wondering why the Bubble Dreamer let's all this happen.

After Rayman free's all the Electoons, the Magician manages to form a path to where Mr. Dark set up his new World Order.
Candy Chateau, wich is ironically enough, the Bubble Dreamer's favorite land.

Upon storming the lair, Rayman faces off with Mr. Dark, who tries to intimidate Rayman with powerful magic. Rayman brainlessly continues the fight.

Mr. Dark not having time for such trivial matters, fuses some of his greatest 'Devoteds' into massive powerhouses to squash Rayman.

Rayman however succeds in beating the 3 creatures, and reclaims the Protoon.

Mr. Dark quickly noticing the situation went from bad to worse flees the scene.

The Magician, is left behind by Rayman as he rushes to claim his glory.

The Magician soons stumbles into Mr. Dark's secret lair and finds all the plans that were in order.

The Magician soon starts to sympathize with Mr. Dark, and realizes the Bubble Dreamer is indeed a poor planet guardian (in his eyes), and plans to revive Mr. Dark's plans. Though he has no idea how he is going to do so.

RAYMAN 2

Following a time of peace and parties after Mr. Dark's defeat, Rayman and newfound friend Globox, are enjoying a long relaxation.

Though soon that time passes, a gang of Space Robot Pirates targets the Glade for their next plantary looting.

Caught off guard by the sudden aerial assault, most of the glade was seized, save for a few armies of freedom fighters.

As the Pirates built up bases around the planet, more and more creatures were enslaved.

Rayman and Globox met up with a bunch of new allies during this time, Clark, a mountain of Muscles was his strongest ally, Murphy, a know-it-all, and Ly, who is the head of the Fairy Council.

They all form a small freedom army, but that army is soon shatered too.

The Pirates managed to crush the Heart of the World into 1000 Lums, thus driving the Bubble Dreamer into a seemingly endless slumber, and striping the faries of their powers. And Rayman's powers, wich were granted by Faries and Nymphs, were stripped of him too.

Soon Everyone is imprisoned. But thanks to globox's appetite, a Silver Lum manages to make it's way to Rayman, and they both escape.

Soon they free Ly too. She then explains that Polokus created a 1-time-use fail safe in case this sort of thing happened. 4 Masks that when united would grant him temporary God Status to purge the Planet of the Pirates.

So Rayman goes to collects the Masks, running in to some old friends and enemies along the way.

When he frees the Grand Minimus Quartet, they allow him to hop between worlds via the Hall of Doors, but need lots of Electoons and Lums to provide the Energy since they can't harvest the Protoon's.

Rayman's journy goes smooth until he has to save Clark's life. He winds up at the cave of Bad Dreams to get the Elixer of Life, and ends up racing a spiteful Jano (who was banished to the caves) to the treasure at the end.

Jano decide's Rayman's not that bad a guy when he see's he values life over gold.

The Magician during these times, see's how horrible a protector the Bubble Dreamer is at this time and becomes even more inspired to continue Mr. Dark's new World Order, starts to peice together makeshift mechanical guardians out of spare Pirate Parts.

After Rayman collects the Masks and awakens the Dreamer, he heads to the Pirate ship and smashes pretty much everything up.

After the Buccaneer explodes. The valley is littered with pirate debris and technology. A 1 man Teensie clean up crew (the Magician) collects everything, and discovers he has a real knack for technology and reverse engeneering the Pirate's technology taking it all to a secluded peak in the mountains to work on it.

Polokus reassembles the Protoon, and proceeds to party with his pals.

Soon a certain Magician puts his plans into action.

Waiting until the Bubble dreamer, Rayman, and Globox are sound asleep, he decides to upset the balance of the world. Rendering Polokus useless again, then use his army of machines to save the planet and convince the inhabitants to forget Polokus and follow his march of SCIENCE!

He decides to agitate the creatures in the Land of the Livid Dead. And uses the snoring of Rayman and friends to do so.

The plan works and the dreamer is useless, but then the pathways between worlds becomes sealed when the Livid Dead start capturing the electoons (to ya know, teach those hooligans a lesson).

The Magician's machines arn't ready either and need more power (Since the Bubble Dreamer's Wackoness drains the world's heart too). So he has Rayman fight off the Army for him, and get's the Lum Power he needs and even uses electoons freed by Rayman to open paths to more worlds, and more Lums.

Eventually his dual lives cause him to stop caring about fixing the Glade, and just control everything. He hates Rayman because he is the favorite of the Dreamer's creations, and plans on using his army to crush him. Then take over the Glade.

He becomes the Dark Magician after Rayman and Co. Find he is the one behind all the Pirate Machinery appearing in the Mountains.

he then flees after Rayman smashes up his 2 greatest creations.

He then tries to go into hiding like his idol Mr. Dark, but since he lacks any Magic beyond normal Teensie Power, he flees via a modified Pirate Ship he had lying around.

He then proceeds to crash into his factory's core and causes a mass explosion.

It is unknown if he survived.

The Stress of all that had happened lately caused the Lums to become extremely agitated and Stressed, to the point where frightening one caused all the negative energy to transform it into a Black Lum.

Rayman 3's storyline then proceeds as usual.

You even suggested it for the Manipulate the Image game. On the official website it says that this is Mister Dark, even though it's outdated.

Thing is, they look different enough, I personally beleive Mr. Dark is now a teensie.

Since other species options are stuff like Grub, Nymph, etc...

Notice the Mr. Dark on the pedistal has a different Hat than the Magician does, and wears different clothes too, plus the nose shapes are different, Mr. Dark's is more pointy, and evil, than the Magician's round snout..

I beleive the Teensie on the pedistal is Mr. Dark, and the Magician is trying his best to emulate that look.

What makes you think Mr Dark has to be a species that was already unveiled in the previous games? After all, the Magician turned out to be something that hadn’t even been conceived when he made his first appearance. I’ll be surprised if they reveal Mr Dark’s species at all.

Little variations in the shape and colour of garments don’t mean anything. The clothing of the Magician and various other Teensies changed repeatedly during the development of Rayman Origins. These final games aren’t even internally consistent; Mr Dark’s colours change depending on whether you’re watching the intro, looking at artwork or seeing him in-game. The same goes for many other characters, like Ly, whose clothes change completely from one picture to the next, and the Musician’s child, who makes only two brief appearances in the original game and looks very different in each one. Even the hat worn by the Magician in Rayman Origins doesn’t look the same as the one you find him in at the beginning of certain levels in the game.

Including getting his nose tattooed? Look closely at the markings; they’re identical.

The Teensy on the pedestal is just a holdover from a scrapped sequence where the Magician disguised himself as Mr Dark. The real Mr Dark (as redesigned for Origins onwards) looks very different, and pictures of him can be seen on the walls of the Magician’s office:

Those images, are real low-res blocks that look like 2 hour glasses stuck together with arms added on.

At the top right there's a picture that looks more like polokus, but that doesn't make sense.
