Re: Rayman 2
The worst Version of Rayman 2 to get would have to be "Rayman Forever" On gameboy color
Weird thing about it is, the case says Rayman forever, the title on the Menu says Rayman 2 the great escape "?"

Re: Rayman 2
I didn't find R2F a bad game, but it isn't perfect either. The worst R2 version for me is without any doubts Rayman DS.

Re: Rayman 2
Agreed hands down.
R2F felt like Rayman 2 done in the style of R1, and I don't think it's too shabby, it may not be as legendary as it's console counterparts, but it is a decent addition to the Rayman series nontheless.
Rayman Ds on the other hand, was meant to be a port of the legendary console game, except Ubi saw it fit to complete butcher it with bad controls and glitches, thus spitting upon the love and hard work that went into the original copies.
Whenever I play the PC/N64/DC versions especially, I always get this vibe, like as if I can actually feel the love put into the game.
Recent ports, like DS/3DS, feel quite "mechanical" and heartless, and it saddens me that Rayman 2 hasn't been given a recent remake that reflects upon the love put into the originals.

Re: Rayman 2
If Ubisoft anyday intends to release Rayman 2 (DC) again, better they don't scrap the Globox Village.
Re: Rayman 2
Why would they scrap it? It's one of the most important and cool features of that version.
But i think they better release Rayman Revolution for a current-generation console. Maybe with achievements/trophies.

Whilst to some Rayman Revolution may be the favourite version of R2, if one was to make a Rayman 2 HD, it should be just that.
Rayman 2, not Revolution.
That being said, I've been wondering if it would've been possible to add a seperate game mode based on Revolution, where you play the Revolution game, and a Classic mode, where you would be playing the Original. Both would be seperate files, so your progress in one wouldn't be the same in the other.
Perhaps this mode could be an unlockable once a player has completed the "Classic" mode, and will allow for a new separate file based on RR.
However, like I said before, if Ubi does rerelease Rayman 2 in HD for the current-gen consoles, it should be Rayman 2.
If they want to have Revolution, then they should release under the "Revolution" moniker.

Re: Rayman 2
I think a Revolution Mode would require a lot of hard-coded braindeath. Revolution's like an entire other game in itself. I mean, there's redesigns, different speech patterns, not to mention the Hub World the Front, different level order, etc.
Or do you mean they should keep in the additions Revolution brought (like a revamped Cave of Bad Dreams and a hell of a load of modelled scenery everywhere) and just add a Hub World for people who want it?
On the note of Revolution, I'm quite unhappy about for example the explosions and particle effects - they looked excellent in the PC version, even though they were just a bunch of sprites transformed and resized on top of each other. Also, the 3D walkways like the wooden planks were unnecesary in my opinion. They looked fine as thin wooden planks, as opposed to chunky ones.

I was going to say, that in reality, yes, Revolution is practically a different game, and putting it in like an extra mode, would realistically be a legnthy and irritating process.Shrooblord wrote:I think a Revolution Mode would require a lot of hard-coded braindeath. I think some improvements from Revolution can be carried over, such as the larger amount of Fauna, but besides that, a HD remake of the DC version would make for the definitive Rayman 2 classic experience on next-gen consoles.

Re: Rayman 2
Or even better: a Rayman 2 port for your virtual reality helmet... ... I'm out of words because of excitement trying to imagine that.
Re: Rayman 2
Hi again! Just stopping by to tell you of something funny that happened to me 2 minutes ago.
Typing in random Rayman 2 songs into an anagram generator. "The Lava Stream - Reprise" came up with "I am a heartless pervert."
So yeah. Innuendo much Eric Chevalier?

I named the tracks, therefore I am a heartless pervert.

Re: Rayman 2
I think it should be named "The Sanctuary of Iron and Steal." That is damn cool.
