Re: Rayman Origins
The only Rayman Origins sequel I want to see is a completely new main Rayman game that once again does its own thing, 2D or 3D. As for more of the Origins style, DLC would be the way to go.

Re: Rayman Origins
I just don't wanna face the idea of a Rayman Origins sequel. In my opinion it's a game which is good for only ONE game, but not for making sequels.I want good ol' Rayman back. And yeah,I know that now I'm again at the point of begging for a old styled Rayman to return, but I want back that magical athmosphere from Rayman 2 which involved you in the story, that hadly worked story, the really cool soundtrack fitting the levels, the awesome new environments...And overall I want to see something 3D again.Preferably with his neckerchief back, but I don't think that happens...
Re: Rayman Origins
Woah, so many comparisons over the last few pages!
Re: Rayman Origins
I don't know what to say about the series anymore. Rayman Origins sadly never got me. I am not sure how Rayman can be so fun as it was before again. I guess it is all about Nostalgia. Rayman 1 is to me, a piece of my heart and childhood. Pure nostalgia.

Re: Rayman Origins
To join in with the music-rating system, for me, and I will think hard about this, the order is:
R2 > R1 > RM > Origins > RAYMAN GBC > R3
I'm struggling between M and Origins, mainly because I've had M so long, that all the music's ingrained in my memory, though Origins is recent, but made an impact. Rayman 3 hasn't got bad music, don't get me wrong, but it just doesn't quite make it in this list. It's just too different, even if I am in love with some themes such as the Hoodoo theme.
Rayman 2 had by far the greatest music in the game. Every time I listen, I feel the instruments play, and occassionally, I discover a new little gimmick Chevalier put into his music, somewhere, hidden in the shadows of the main melody. That music will probably remain with me the rest of my life.

Re: Rayman Origins
It seems there’s been a lot of Origins backlash lately. Perhaps we were so overwhelmed by the fact that it was a new Rayman platformer with characters and locations from the previous games that we didn’t notice its problems. Even so, it is a very good game.

Re: Rayman Origins
I'd say that the 'backlash' is rather nitpicky though, and has mostly to do with the game being different from the rest.
Re: Rayman Origins
You know, that was what I was exactly thinking about lately. I guess back in November/December I was still under an emotional state of finally watching a return of Rayman after 8 years of hiatus. I wasn't being honest and analysing the game rationally. Now that a couple of time has passed, and I started to re-explore the game once more, but this time in Wii version, I only started to notice now some problems and arriving the conclusion that this game isn't exactly what I was dreaming about. Things didn't change a lot: I still prefer Rayman 2 over any game in the quadrilogy. Even the Rayman 2 soundtracks is still the best one for me. The final version of Rayman Origins isn't anymore the one we saw in E3 2010 which did look quite promising. The reasons it made the whole Montpellier team changing their plans, is yet a mystery.spiraldoor wrote:It seems there’s been a lot of Origins backlash lately. But I can't negate Rayman Origins was a good game: it was a fresh air current after such a long time not playing a whole new fresh 2D Side-Scrolling Platformer. I can tell that I got surprised by the game's longevity in single-player mode, aswell the graphical work done in the PS3 version. I still didn't test the co-op mode at the moment, but I'll do it this Summer, hopefully. But I don't have much doubts now knowing I almost listen everybody complaining that the 3/4 player co-op gets chaotic, and only working effectively in the 2 player co-op. I guess they were more concerned in the familiar gameplay, even if they were having in account the most experienced players.
What I can say: Ubisoft, you could have done waaaaaaaay better.

Re: Rayman Origins
I'd love some Origins DLC, I hope the PC version will have an update feature on it, maybe then i'll buy it.El Dango wrote:The only Rayman Origins sequel I want to see is a completely new main Rayman game that once again does its own thing, 2D or 3D. Re: Rayman Origins
I'm for the idea of DLC, but wasn't that one of the reasons they made RO a full retail game instead of episodes?

Re: Rayman Origins
No...
I absolutely abhor (payed) DLC. Don't. Please.
Oh well, it's not as if I would buy Rayman Origins on the PC as well, so I suppose I'll pirate it in the end, but still, it's the idea...
EDIT: I believe you are right, Smega.

Re: Rayman Origins
Well, I won't.
It's just that the whole gaming industry is creating half-arsed games, and then release innumerable DLC's to add stuff; stuff that should / would have been in the original release, had it not been for DLC. For example, Civilization V, I believe the original game already contained all the files for the Mongols or such, but they were added via DLC.
But, well, I generally don't buy anything at all, so meh.

Re: Rayman Origins
Rayman Origins. I was just so shocked when I saw the trailer, art aand ideas videos. Hunter returned, Livingstone returned, Moskito, even the "!" signed showed up in the art aswell as Mr. Dark. The game ended up being a fast-paced game, Hunter barely appering sadly aswell as Mr. Dark got scratched along with the "!" sign. It was just not quite what I was hoping for.Haruka wrote:What I can say: Ubisoft, you could have done waaaaaaaay better.
But despite the disappointment, I do feel that Ubisoft start to prioritate the Rayman-series again. Let's hope it won't be 7 more years till next release.

Re: Rayman Origins
So many bad words on Rayman Origins...You are merciless for the people who worked on it and made this beautiful 2d game:) Don't you see this kind of thinking kills all the creativity in gaming industry? It is why we have so many clones and dull sequels today: because developers are afraid of taking any risk.
If you like previous games more, it's ok. But I wonder why so many people post here just to say how they're disappointed with new Rayman. It's just unfair.
...And in opposite to most of you, I want Rayman Origins 2 as well as I want Rayman 4.
PS. ...And writing down that you should buy full retail game only if it would have some DLC in it (when there aren't any supposed to be) without even playing it is some sort of heavy ignorance, Serza.

Re: Rayman Origins
We're not saying it's a bad game at all or that we dislike it, we're just having a heavy conversation/debate over its flaws. Blimey, can't anyone distinguish constructive critique from hatred? These kinds of comments have started to annoy me. I love the game, but I'm not afraid to share my two cents on how it could be improved.done wrote:So many bad words on Rayman Origins...You are merciless for the people who worked on it and made this beautiful 2d game:) Don't you see this kind of thinking kills all the creativity in gaming industry?
