RayFan played the game in the Dolphin emulator. It allows for 720p that is not upscaled 480p. I agree the difference between the graphics in the two versions is actually not that big.Hunchman801 wrote:The Wii version is only 480p, so what you call 720p is actually upscaled 480p. It just seemed like the difference between a clear image and an image with 1% blur on it. I didn't even notice anymore fifteen minutes later.

Re: Rayman Origins
But that's not the actual Wii version then, just what it would look like if displayed at a higher resolution. Hence the nullity of the comparison.Drolpiraat wrote:RayFan played the game in the Dolphin emulator. It allows for 720p that is not upscaled 480p. Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah and 2D Wii games are even more problematic to upscale than 3D ones are in Dolphin, no matter what you do some assets will be blurry as all shit...sure I said before that Wario Land Shake It was a prime example of that.

Re: Rayman Origins
Obviously, there wouldn't be much difference if you played it on Dolphin. I played it on an actual wii, and it looks awful. Wait, who said that? ME? the one who was protecting the wii version for almost one year?
woah. But yeah, playing this on the highest quality is a great experience! suddenly I want to buy the game again but.... I can't...I'm poor
Oh well... I'll wait for Rayman Origins 2; I'm pretty sure that it will have better visual effects too, now that the wii generation is over (In other words, Ubisoft doesn't have to worry about having pity on the poor, poor wii graphics).

Re: Rayman Origins
Wait, then are you saying that the Wii's maximum resolution is 960x480? That's kind of sad, but I wasn't aware since I only have an old 640x480 Panasonic TV to play on. I would have to agree with Sergiomonty then.
Also, Haruka, since when has there been a downgrade in the PC version's cutscenes? They look the exact same as the X360's to me, and I can prove that since I play my Xbox on my computer monitor.

Re: Rayman Origins
The floating fairies detail is a loss indeed, unless if it just made the screen clutter or if it ate too much processor power for the consoles. However, I'm rather glad they created a cartoon fire, as they not only did a great job at it, but it fits better too, better than 'real' fire would have.
Re: Rayman Origins
The intro cutscene looked less smooth and a little pixelized to me, unless it is again a job done by my (near) obsolete computer.RayFan9876 wrote:

That's most likely, but I thought you had a decent computer. You were able to run Revenge of the Dark at a decent frame rate if I recall correctly?Haruka wrote:The intro cutscene looked less smooth and a little pixelized to me, unless it is again a job done by my (near) obsolete computer.RayFan9876 wrote:

More like 640 × 480, which results in an anamorphic 854 × 480 on 16:9 screens.RayFan9876 wrote:Wait, then are you saying that the Wii's maximum resolution is 960x480? It did work great and smooth in your stresstest. The graphics were quite good too.RayFan9876 wrote:That's most likely, but I thought you had a decent computer. I really don't know what to say about the RO case then. What I know is I still own the black bar glitch, and other XP users from here don't have the same problem.

Re: Rayman Origins
Oh, that's disgusting. Seriously, out of all the things the Wii didn't amount to, this is by far the worst I think. How do you release a console at Christmas 2006 and not have at least 720p support? Ah well.Hunchman801 wrote:More like 640 × 480, which results in an anamorphic 854 × 480 on 16:9 screens.RayFan9876 wrote:Wait, then are you saying that the Wii's maximum resolution is 960x480? Re: Rayman Origins
Then why do you think gamers make fun of Wii? because of the name? I play it because I'm a casual gamer, I accept it, but Wii has some of the crappiest graphics of this generation.

Re: Rayman Origins
I knew both I and they complained because of its lack of graphical capabilities, but I don't slot resolution in the same category, because the internal hardware isn't limiting what the console is able to produce, Nintendo just for some reason slapped on really lame ports to the Wii. I've seen people mod their Wiis and have added support for 720p. The ability is there, it just wasn't utilized for whatever retarded reason no one will ever know.sergiomonty wrote:Then why did you think gamers made fun of Wii? because of the name? Re: Rayman Origins
Oh well, let the old dust go away with the wind. Wii U is today's console with amazing HD!! *SUDDENLY, Microsoft and Sony publish their new consoles, with higher resolution than Wii U's. Then, Nintendo starts sucking again*

Re: Rayman Origins
Well, I have the Wii version and I don't have any issue with the graphics! By the way, does anyone know the hex values for the different skins? I am trying to hack a skin modifier.

I have played the Wii version and the game doesn't look great in my opinion. I have nothing against the console though, as it allows me to play all the Resident Evil games that were released on GameCube, from 0 to 4.

Hey guys,
I've been looking for the mysterious beta script for RO for a while now. Found this forum, looks like you people know a lot. I know the script is somewhere in the demo, but how do you extract it from there? Please help! I really need it XD
