Re: Rayman Origins
A lot of the Boss's in Rayman Origins do hurt themselves, revealing their weak spots - which is sort of like killing themselves I guess...

Re: Rayman Origins
2D is alright, but 3D is better imo.I've been waiting for a 3D game and, although 2D is ok to help waiting,I think it's time to get what I've been waiting for since 2003.Cairnie wrote:So it did turn out to be a red herring after all; oh well, the Rayman Facebook page are still hinting at something for E3.
Guh I'm all for a new 3D Rayman but I really don't understand the agenda against more 2D Rayman games, if anything Origins did the franchise a favour.

the teleporting pirate from rayman revolution was not a boss?Haruka wrote:If we count Kagalpha/Scalesman's alternative size, Chenille, Razorbeard without the Grolgoth and the Hoodstomper without the stomping tool, well yes.

Are you talking about the pirates that drill through the ground?Fauch wrote:the teleporting pirate from rayman revolution was not a boss?Haruka wrote:If we count Kagalpha/Scalesman's alternative size, Chenille, Razorbeard without the Grolgoth and the Hoodstomper without the stomping tool, well yes.

Re: Rayman Origins
Talking about big bosses....Jano is totally going to appear in Rayman Origins 2. I mean, like, it's obligatory. He just assumed the role of a "teaser element" in the manual and the website of the first game; he deserves more that than! He MUST be in Rayman Origins 2, because I know Michel Ancel hasn't forgot him. The appearance of Jano is even more probable than the return of the Magician (Uh... is the magician dead already?).

Re: Rayman Origins
Maybe he means the generator guards? Well, those wouldn't be bosses I'd say; you can't kill them. You just have to destroy the generator and then they'll disappear, if I remember correctly.RayFan9876 wrote:Are you talking about the pirates that drill through the ground?Fauch wrote:the teleporting pirate from rayman revolution was not a boss?Haruka wrote:If we count Kagalpha/Scalesman's alternative size, Chenille, Razorbeard without the Grolgoth and the Hoodstomper without the stomping tool, well yes.
Plus, they also didn't get that short movie that zooms in upon the boss and states the boss' name and title.

Re: Rayman Origins
Come to think about it, Origins being a slightly separate franchise sounds like the best way to content both 2D and 3D fans. I happen to like both anyway...

I’d be more interested in a Rayman 1 sequel than a Rayman Origins sequel.

I think Rayman 1's sequel is Rayman 2,don't you?spiraldoor wrote:I’d be more interested in a Rayman 1 sequel than a Rayman Origins sequel.
Re: Rayman Origins
But no one forbides Ubisoft to do a direct sequel to Rayman 1 and being a Rayman 2 prequel at the same time.

What I meant was that I’d like to see a game which replicates the gameplay, tone and artistic style of the original, in the same way that Rayman Origins 2 will presumably replicate Rayman Origins. In other words, something like this:Haruka wrote:But no one forbides Ubisoft to do a direct sequel to Rayman 1 and being a Rayman 2 prequel at the same time.

I'd like to see that too! Something like the R2 prototype.spiraldoor wrote:What I meant was that I’d like to see a game which replicates the gameplay, tone and artistic style of the original, in the same way that Rayman Origins 2 will presumably replicate Rayman Origins. I suppose, but pretty much the entire cast of Rayman 1 was wiped off in Rayman 2 and, I know I've said this too many times before, Rayman 2 confused the canon of Rayman 1 by stating that Rayman is the only one of his kind.TeensieKing wrote:I think Rayman 1's sequel is Rayman 2,don't you?spiraldoor wrote:I’d be more interested in a Rayman 1 sequel than a Rayman Origins sequel.

Rayman 2 only avoided the subject of Rayman’s species; it never stated that they were dead or that they didn’t exist.THEdragon wrote:Rayman 2 confused the canon of Rayman 1 by stating that Rayman is the only one of his kind.
Re: Rayman Origins
The R2 Prototype would be one of the games I would like to see it recycled and finished.

Re: Rayman Origins
Something I'd love to know is whether the bonus levels playable in the PlayStation version of Rayman 2 are all that came out of the 2D project, or if there's a lot more we haven't had a chance to see yet. Hopefully, the upcoming interview will bring its load of answers!

This is true, but the line "And then there's you... nobody knows where you came from or who your parents were." from the Knowledge of the World is very suggestive, though not conclusive, you're right.spiraldoor wrote:Rayman 2 only avoided the subject of Rayman’s species; it never stated that they were dead or that they didn’t exist.

Re: Rayman Origins
You know I would LOVE to have found that really early advert that I am convinced it said Rayman was "the last of his race" but I don't even think I have the magazine it was in anymore. It was from a Nintendo one from late 1999 when the N64 one was coming out.

Re: Rayman Origins
People on each side of the fence can both suck it up and get used to it. I say let Origins keep its status as another installment in the series, no need for it to be a sub-series.Hunchman801 wrote:Come to think about it, Origins being a slightly separate franchise sounds like the best way to content both 2D and 3D fans.
