Re: Rayman M-Arena
But that ain't part of Rayman.
I get your point, but still, why would you not include everyone, provided it didn't affect the game development, release date, etc?

No, you're right, but I think they should leave that to the community - give them a way to easily add skins or models and leave things to sort out themselves... and yes, of course you'd get the occassional troll character, but there could be like a 'widely accepted range of characters as hand-picked by the community', or something similar. It could work out, I think. Customisation is always a great thing to add to your games.

Yep, exactly, that's what I'd want as well. Give us a Rayman M 2 or something, but this time, make it easy for anyone to add their own custom characters / skins / whatever.
I think all games should be fully customizable to be honest, with as many options and as many easy to use modding tools as possible.

Don't be surprised if in the future, you see some new companies pulling this feat.need my speed wrote:Yep, exactly, that's what I'd want as well. Give us a Rayman M 2 or something, but this time, make it easy for anyone to add their own custom characters / skins / whatever.

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Well, I'd hope so, but from my experience, games became only more restrictive (really random examples: Command & Conquer Generals had less options than Red Alert 2, and was also harder to mod, or Civilization V had less options (and, I believe, was harder to mod / had no SDK / whetever) than Civilization IV). But that's a few years ago, so...

Re: Rayman M-Arena
Then again, games like Spore came out, which are all about editing and creating yourself. And then there's games like The Sims, which get more and more flexible with mods; the newest version even having its own Worldbuilder, similar to that of the Command and Conquer series (as opposed to having to buy SimCity 4000 to be able to use its map generator to create Neighbourhoods).
I guess it depends on what kind of game you're dealing with. Games like Rayman M, I'm not too sure about, but games where custom content would be 'a logical addition', such as RTS games...

Re: Rayman M-Arena
M is the European version, and Arena is the American version. Arena however has a few more features, such as the ability to do LAN multiplayer.Yoshidude99 wrote:What is the diffrence between M and Arena?

Re: Rayman M-Arena
No. They're 99% the same game though, so don't worry, you're not really missing out on anything by having Rayman M.Yoshidude99 wrote:So Arena isn't sold in the Uk?

I wish I could play someone in Lum Spring
Re: Rayman M-Arena
Lets not forget that Rayman Arena of Xbox and GameCube have much more differences than Rayman M (and the other versions of Arena).
There are some different skins, more cinematics, Murfy appears in the cutscenes, Dark Rayman, etc.
