The concept of the game is that a bunch of characters are coming together to fight each other. Think of Super Smash Bros. It makes no sense for all of these characters to come from one specific phase of the Rayman series. Considering that they had to pad out the roster with a bunch of filler characters and re-use several dull environments, it’s clear that Rayman 2 didn’t have enough characters or worlds to sustain this sort of spin-off.

Look me in the eye and tell me Rayman M wouldn’t have been a million times better with the following replacements:

Characters:
Tily → Betilla
Razorwife → Space Mama
Henchman 1000 → Mr Dark
Dark Rayman → Bad Rayman

Levels:
Beaches → Band Land
Fortresses → Picture City
Factory → Candy Château

Let’s see if you can still enjoy Tily and Henchman 1000 racing through Water Canyon while you have these ideas running through your mind.

Well I never said it wouldn't be better with the characters I'm sure everyone would prefer to see. What you said is true. I would much rather play as Mr. Dark than any of the 4 new characters.

Henchman 1000 was my favourite character in the game, and continues to be. By the fortresses, do you mean the Forest Jump, Zenith Harbour and Pirate Ship tracks? Funnily enough those were my favourite tracks in the game too. Though I agree with you everywhere else Spiral, it probably would have made the game better and added more variety to have tracks, arenas and characters based on Rayman 1 as well as 2.

I agree with the character swaps, hands down. However, the levels I could argue with somewhat (not a whole lot). I really liked the beaches like Dawn Sand, Water Canyon and Thousand Waterfalls. For me, they held up wonderfully in almost every way. However, I do believe that a lot of levels were almost duplicates, and that those three I mentioned could have been combined into one slightly longer track to make room for Band Land / Picture City / Candy Château.

I actually found the beaches to be dull and boring but that is a matter of opinion. My favorite lot of levels were the fortress ones. Zenith Harbour gives me the R2 vibe the most along with Rise & Shrine.

Aah, one more thing I wanted to note: I also really liked Electric Final, if that's considered a "factory" level. Awesome amounts of pseudo-contraptions it had to make it just seem huge yet quirky enough to fit really well into the Rayman universe. Say, I think that a level like that would have been amazing in Rayman 2.

I did not like Henchmen 1000 by the way.

A level like that would be pretty cool, you're right. As a whole, I didn't really like it though.

Nah, I needa sleep; sorry for not responding to your FB message, I'm exhausted after this long 12-hour session of recording/producing a talented yet extremely unfocused band whose sole mission it seemed was to make the whole process take as long as possible. Hey, at least it earned me $40!

I agree with the character swaps, but I like Henchman 1000 even if he is only a spin-off character.

Now for the levels... The most boring races tracks for me were the beach ones, but my favourite ones are in the Fortresses and Factory levels.

I prefer the spooky/sewer levels, though I can’t say I really love any aspect of the game.

I like the dark levels the most, then the fortress levels. I hate the beach levels and don't really like the factory levels.

Henchman 1000 or Mr. Dark? hmm, choices...
Well, in honesty, it'd probably tip toward Mr. Dark.
But I really do like the character of Henchman 1000.

I liked the beach levels too. I should try to install that game again.

I also like this, but my favourite track is Zenith Harbour. Inside the Spooky ones, for me it is the Nebulous Tower, with Dark Sewers next.

I didn't say I hate them, but for me they are my least favourite tracks, especially Water Canyon. The Dawn Sand was ok, but the Thousand Waterfalls is the longest race track of the game and the one with more action inside the beach race tracks.

No you're stupid, Zenith Harbour is stupid! All is stupid! :pascontent: :pascontent: :pascontent: :pascontent:

Nah, I think Zenith Harbour is fun, I just didn't like its style. Sorry, I'm a very graphics-oriented person; I don't disregard the gameplay though, nice graphics and scenery really make me enjoy things more.

I never really cared about the graphics on games tbh, to me the gameplay was all that mattered... And then I got RO... And a HDMI cable. My eyes are so used to fine detail now that I can see blurriness and pixelation where I could not see any before! I can never see a 6th generation game the same way again!
On a side note, for an 11-year-old game Rayman M/Arena isn't looking too old for age. I actually still think it looks pretty good graphicswise.

I usually choose Rayman or Globox, when playing Rayman M. Unlike many others i like Tily, shes very cute! :D

I sometimes wonder is Globette Uglette with just a different name?

It's interesting how much you go against the norm Mammoth...
I do believe Globette is Uglette, but that could just be me.
